How many characters should there be? What should the ratio be with secret characters, and characters that are already playable? ratio of returning characters with new characters of what games? Children lend me ur ears!!!

Well, I have always been a big fan of having alot of characters in MK i.e. UMK. However, if the characters that make the cut have: a good play, feel, and look really cool it will not matter. I always end up playing my main man Raiden anyway.

24 is PERFECT, as long as what Ed said is true.
All the characters will have around 6 special moves, and more distinct and improved fighting styles.
I prefer quality to quantity

yeah i think its perfect... i mean lets see.. theres 5 from da.. and 10? from classics.. and 8 new chars... so i am happy.. btw who says you couldn't make your own.. char say liu kang from konquest... and or unlock the hidden chars... and there could be more than just 2 this time.. think... if down and x on eaither bottom corner.. why not up and x on the top corners..

I was hoping for a more modest 28 compared to other fighting games that feature up to 35. But 24 characters, Plus 2-3 secret characters is better then MK:DA's 23/24 characters.

32 characters, 14 playable from start [like normal] 18 secret, yeah, thats how many i think should be in THIS one, and i hope they dont make it so you can see who they are from the start, like in deadly alliance, the ''secret'' characters werent-so-secret since you could see their faces, its jsut, their pictures were darkened, but ya could still see them pretty much, hopefully they make their portraits just black squares with question marks...

I think I would have preferred 30, but I'll be happy if the 24 are all QUALITY characters. That is they are complete characters. I'm tired of hidden MK characters only having some features but not all. Don't be lazy!
Btw, pnkmaggit it's nice to see another Deftones fan around!

Wow, i cant believe you guys. 24 is a ton of characters. Just think how much work they have to do for even one. Thats 24 endings, about 50 fatalities, plus decent graphics for every single char. I think thats a lot.

I think 24 isnt bad. Id prefer 30, but im not gonna complain. 24 is still a good number. And if konquest is a success, we can make our own characters if were not happy with the ones Boon gave us.......

I think 24 is awesome. It's a good number of characters and the game looks brilliant so far. There should be around 2-4 secret characters. But this time around the secret characters should have their own fighting styles and weapons and should definitely have fatalities. I can't wait to play!

24 is good. Although I kinda wish there was 3 or 4 more spots for returning MK:DA characters. But hey, 24 is straight with me.

My thoughts exactly. I am amazed that people are wanting 30+ characters to be in this game. 24 is a heck of alot.
PS I hope Frost is one of the 6 returning from MK: DA :.(
24 is a perfect number for characters in a fighting game. I too prefer quality over quanitity...coming to think of it, seeing the quality of some of the new characters from MKDA, I think 24 might be a bit too many...
I think one fully developed character is enough, so long as he is FULLY developed.

I have no doubt that it is a perfect game, and a perfect number, but if anything, 24 is too little, it definetly isnt alot of characters.....

I guess i dont really mind, afterall, there giving us konquest, create a character, etc. I was kinda hoping for 30 characters though.
Meh, sa'll good.

I think it's a good idea to have 24 or more charcters in MKD.They may just all play a big role in MKD.Maybe the Dragon King will be against everyone including people that are evil.TDK may only respect a few people who are on his side.Plus most of the roster is made up of classic MK charcters and returning charcters. So far the brand new charcters look interesting like Ashrah.
I think the more characters the better provided they are presented well. Then again, if there were too many characters people would not find favourites so easily and then we would lose the great debate - "My character will kick your character's ass!"
I agree, quality is the answer. They just have to find a better way for Cage to fit in!

I just found my old MKT game and i realised that there were only 32 characters. I find that ironic because alot of people are saying (during the last month) "About 30 characters, Don't want it to become another Trilogy", lol.
