No, not really. If anything else, Ermacs' is symbolic. But if you want tradition, then Hotaru is your man, although his is what a ninja does, not a samurai.

Like CMETH said, real life is far more disturbing than anything in a Mortal Kombat game.

RAIDEN
Puts his hands to his head and fries himself until it explodes sending bloody bits everwyhere

KIRA
Cuts her own throat with her butterfly knives and crawls across the floor

LIU KANG
Kicks so high that his foot goes through his own face and he drops to the ground

NOOB SMOKE
Noob is defeated from battle and he drags poor Smoke down to the Netherrealm with him

SEKTOR
Of course a self destruction that not only kills him but the opponent too

I don't know they scare me a little.

I enjoy the Hari Kiris...They give the game something new and fun to watch. I mean, c'mon watching your opponent kill themselves after you completely beat the living crap out of them...What more can you ask for. Hell, its better than babalities and friendships.

I was waiting for someone to say this. It is a game. Basically cartoons. Who cares. I f you don't like don't do them. I don't mean to sound like an ass but I have stong feelings about game violence and how that whole subject is a bunch of nonsense.

meillena- stabs both sai into her face

noob smoke- shoot a fireball at each other at the same time destorying both of them.

scorpion- shoot his spear at the ceilling, and then hangs him self with the rope end

Instead of going out of their way to make the Hara-Kiris "original" and "shocking", they should've given the same Hara-Kiri to EVERYONE:
Take your weapon and impale yourself in the stomach (throat if you're a woman). That's a REAL Hara-Kiri, not the ridiculous shit Ermac does...
