it would be sweet actually. To see a Johnny Cage who's down and out at the time of this occurrence. Have his story be like a few failed movie projects and personal problems/self abuse to see him sorta gruff and pissed off. I think it would be a refreshing direction for the character.

Yea basically tear down the character, drugs, alcohol, career woes, make him angrier and with an edge, I think it would be a great thing for him story wise.

He still needs shades though. That may sound like a clash to some, but I think it'd work. Give him a beard, lose the giant wrap around shades and give him some dark oval secret service glasses. Give him different clothes (a suit?) and a mean disgruntled expression and you're set.

For me, though I'd rather Cage remain a "joke". He represents a timeless and slightly badass stereotype; the cocky ultra cheesy hollywood guy who really is great.

Or maybe Cage could have an unshaven face because he'd finally rejected the hollywood life because he realized it had corrupted his fighting technique and also his spirit. He'd then gone on a real journey of self discovery and hung out the mountains and trained with warriors Batman Begins style, and then come back as the guy nobody expected to save the day in MK8.

Hell, give him long hair too. The character should still be Cage and still be a catchphrase spouter who likes to play with the moment, but it should be as if he's confident rather than cocky this time.

Cage def needs some kind of change.
He's been doin the same thing since the first game.
He needs to evolve as a character.

Just wondering, does Condemned count as a fighting game? Granted, it's First Person, but it's mostly melee combat and chock full of murderous homeless people (And murderous cheerleaders. And murderous lunch ladies. And murderous men dressed like firefighters. And I shit you not, RABID BEAR FIGHT!). Hell, in the second game, the hero loses his job, drinks alot, goes insane, get's superpowers, making him a superpowered hobo hero.
