I'll explain what I really mean shortly and it'll all make sense.

Since MK1, when you beat the game, that fighter's story is immediately revealed. Whether the ending has featured still screenshots from MK1-MK3, movie endings in MK4 and MKGold, or Rayden talking as in MK:DA, the endings have always been done in this fashion.

For MK:Deception, it should be entirely different. Instead of showing what happenes to a fighter in the immediate aftermath of defeating the boss (in this case, the Dragon King), we actually see glimpses of each fighter's ending at the BEGINNING of the game! Staying along the lines of having Rayden as the voice for each character's ending in MK:DA, these little pre-game endings in Deception would actually be glimpses of what the Elder Gods predict would happen to each fighter should they partake in the MK:Deception tournament. During the game, while playing with any one particular fighter, you receive several more possible glimpses of what the Elder Gods predict will happen to a fighter. However, some of the Elder Gods' predictions are true and others are not. Upon defeating the Dragon King, the glimpses that were true are expanded upon.

For exmaple, let's say that in Sub-Zero's Deception "ending", we see glimpses of him murdering Frost, shaking hands with Scorpion, being killed by Sektor, Sub-Zero freezing Scorpion, and Sub-Zero and Frost kissing. Some are true and some are not. But in his REAL ending, only the glimpses of him murdering Frost and Sub-Zero shaking hands with Scorpion are true and the ending expands upon both glimpses (in full motion movie video, of course).

And these REAL endings would carry over to the next Mortal Kombat game while the fake glimpses serve as the "what if" scenarios beause they never actually happened. I believe this would be good for both the fans who want the continuity in the MK storyline once and for all and for those who've always wanted "fantasy endings" or "alternate endings" or don't care that the MK storyline is complex and twisted--serves both sides.

Also, after defeating the game, more Elder God glimpses still pop up during the game for that same fighter and additional video footage appears in that character's REAL ending. Back to my example with Sub-Zero, maybe the next several times around you play, you see glimpses of Sub-Zero with his younger brother, Sub-Zero posing with a human Scorpion, and Sub-Zero being secretly stalked by Smoke--ALL of which contribute to the real ending, and these scenes are added--much like watching the "deleted scenes" of a DVD movie.

Comments? Thoughts? Opinions?

Wow man. That is really intricate. I think its a very good idea. It may be too deep for people to understand, but I think its great. I hope the MK team can think of something this creative.....

AWESOME idea! I love it! I think it would be really great if the MK Team used this idea. We could see the glimpses dependant on out actions throughout arcade mode and dependant on who we kiled or spared.

Is a good and original idea, but I don't like this, because you cannot speculate with ending, and would be endings that would look like, to the being all certain ones, and the MKTeam would not have manoeuvre margin for the following game.

Thanx to everyone for posting their replies, but I'm not quite sure what you mean Shinomune. Are you saying that the inclusions of the REAL endings and not the fake scenes would make it difficult for the MK team to come up with a story for the 7th installment? All the MK team has to do is think in advance of that they want the storyline in MK7 to be like and base the REAL endings in MK:Deception on that storyline. If they're worried about what characters that the fans want to come back and such, all they have to do is plan it all the way through.

It's a good idea but the fact is that they can't have definate endings.

The problems are
1- only one person can win so only one ending can be true
2- in order to have definate endings they would have to build the games backwards. Have MK7 done before MK6. Sure they do a little bit of planning but the fact is that they have that sort of net there so that they can change around things to make the next game.

Although the glimps thing is cool

Wow!!!
Man that is a realllly cool idea!
I like it but my only problem with it would be that it would kinda ruin the ending but hey other than that, that iz a really really cool idea and would like to see it put in MKD

Good points, Ninjahellspawn.

True, only one person can defeat the Dragon King. But....you could still have the REAL definite endings, and there's a way they can do it--a way I hadn't thought about before, and it might sound pretty outrageous, though it could work!

Like let's say that Sub-Zero is the one who is chosen to be the champion of MK:Deception and defeats the Dragon King. But we the players don't know that. So if we beat the game with other fighters BEFORE beating the game with Sub-Zero, then we would NOT see their endings until the game is beaten with the actual champion!

Then, once Sub-Zero has beaten the Dragon King, then all of the other endings for the characters are unlocked, and we get to see how their lives and destinites are affected now that Sub-Zero has beaten the Dragon King.

So in essence, the end-of-game thing would sort of be another mini game in itself--which of the playable warriors becomes the one true champion and defeats the Dragon King?

And in your second point, I don't think they would have to build the games backwards necessarily. Like they would just have to plan ahead--know who the champion is going to be and know who some of the characters are going to be. It doesn't seem to matter who we want and don't want to come back because it seems the MK team takes care of that by having characters return in one sequel or the next regardless of how popularor unpopular they think they were, so there's no real "net" that the Mk team would have to work through to make this work. Just my opinion.

They could do it like tekken 4, in story mode each fight is with some one who matters to the history and beetwween the fights the game tells you a little about the history, that keeps you interested
