Well, this game takes place during MK2. We all know that. What I'm wondering is how the story is going to stick. I mean, MK2 IS the story, but how is Shaolin Monks going to fit into all of it? I'm kind of thinking maybe as the tournament goes on, Liu Kang and Kung Lao do a little espionage work. I think that Shaolin Monks will be MK2-behind-the-scenes. When the tournament wasn't happening, what the characters did - following their agendas. I just hope that Shaolin Monks tells more than just what happened during MK2. Maybe give some insight to Liu Kang and Kung Lao, like Mythologies did with Sub-Zero and what Special Forces was SUPPOSED to do with Jax and Sonya.
From my posts, you can tell I'm more interested in the storyline than the actual game. I dunno why, but the story of MK has always been more interesting than the games themselves. That's how I've always felt about it.

YAY! Mileena is back to kick some bootay! I want her to have a similar costume from MK2 and i wud love to see her together with kitana for the first time as SHao Kahn's assassins!

In MK2 Kitana learned her true history, right?Or was that later? So, will Kitana be evil in shaolin monks or will she be good?

Regarding Kitana being good or evil.
While I'm not sure if she starts as good or bad, in Mk2 she learns the story of her family, and therefore joins the good side.
Acording to Game Informer, there will be a moment where Liu Kang will have to fight Jade, Kitana and Milena at the same time. But the tricky part is, Kitana is under a spell, that's why she'll attack Liu Kang.
The image at Game Informer shows that each of them has some remarkable differences on their uniforms, aside from the color. Their hair seem different from one another also. Kitana has a long braid. Jade and Milena I can't really say judging from the picture. They look really stilish

Actually, when MK2 begins, Kitana's known about it for quite some time. She was just waiting for the right moment to strike. So, she didn't barely figure it out around that time. She's known for a long time.

Bah, Jade being in it means this is going to be another game my mind will force me to buy the day it comes out like I did with deception.
Not that I probably wouldn't get it anyway... but now I'll have to get it sooner.

I'm with PsychoFight, I've always like the story more than the actual gameplay too.. that's why MK: DA and MK: D really appealed to me, cuz they went into more detail of the story

The up'd gameplay aspect was dope too, though.
I think this game looks like it'll be pretty cool. I'm one of those ninja fans though, so I obv. wanna see Subbie(my favorite), Scorpion, Ermac, Rain, NINJA Smoke(Don't like robots..second favorite), Noob Saibot, and Reptile. Playable or not. It'd be pretty cool to see Cyrax and Sector pre-cyborg too.
From what I've heard, Ermac WILL be in there, just not playable(;_;). Smoke, Sub-Zero, and Scorpion(though not confirmed, he'll obv. be in it) will be playable. But that leaves out Rain, Reptile, and Noob.. I'm 99% sure Reptile will be in it, just not playable, but that still leaves the other two.

I'm not too sure about that though.. v_v That STILL leaves out Rain though.. maybe we'll getta see him when fighting Kahn or somethin'. *crosses fingers* If every single ninja is in this game, it will be the ultimate Adventure MK game(though they don't have to really try too hard to top Mythologies and especially Special Forces-worst MK game.. evar). Yes.. every ninja + good story + good fighting mechanics = great game. ^_^

Wow i haven't been here in my thread since i posted it and it seems that it has some pupularity. Well as for the characters i think all of the cas from MK1 will be in the game, most of the MK2 as well, we will probably see some characters from the MK3 universe such as Kabal and or others.
As for the Scorpion fans, he is a must, As Boon stated in every MK game that comes along, Scorpion will be in it, so don't worry about it Specter fans, he will be in

ExiledChild07, who doesn't know that (may be upcoming spoiler fo like 3 people) Noob Saibot is the original Sub-Zero. Duh!!! I've known for awhile. That's all I needed to say.

seeing as smoke will still be human in it i don't think Sektor and Cyrax will be in. they wernt activated yet chronologicaly yet in the timeline if im not mistaken :( shame too seeing as i love cyrax. My guess is in some way shape and form ALL warriors in MK1 & MK2 are gonna be there. even if it's just a backround shot or something. all i know if from what's been shown Reptile seems to have a fairly big battle in it and that will makeup for his "absence" in MKD.

What I think was a VERY nice touch was giving Smoke and Jade their own costumes (so they wouldn't be pallette swaps), as well as differentiating Kitana and Mileena's costumes. Check the GI article. It has pics.
