Nice one! Anyway dude, you are wrong about one thing. You cannot read a PS2, or X-Box, or any game disc without the proper software. It does not matter if you are a CPU Programmer, because I am. I have my Masters Degree in it, and believe me, I have tried reading the disc with every possible software from C++ Visual all the way to normal DOS language and nothing. Trust me kid, there is no way to read a game disc without the proper software/language. That is one way they keep secrets away from gamers. About your friend who works somewhere for some game company, I am not going to say you are a liar there, because he/she could! However, that does not mean they have total access to every hidden game secret out there for every game. Including new games. Even if they worked for Midway, I know for a fact they do not get free access to the cheat codes. They must call in to the 900 number like everyone else. They check you for paper, and pens before you enter the department that takes care of that, this I know. As far as MKD having only 24 playable fighters, it might, it might not, we don't know, but as for your friends, they are liars, or you are.

well if you just bought the game for hidden characters then its your own fault, there's a thing call renting a video game at blockbuster or whatever store you rent them, im sure you heard of that idea. next time rent the game. im my personal opinion i think 24 characters are good enough. im sure at fight night that question will be asked about the So Called Super unlockables.

So these people say that there are no more characters. 24 is our final number... Who said SU's are more playable characters?

You're an idiot
the games been out two weeks, how the hell are YOU an expert on what secrets they put in the game?
trust me these little nerds with modded xboxes don't know shit about the game.
remember MK1? MK2? MK3/UMK3? They all had hidden characters you could only FIGHT, thus making them more astonishing, so don't bitch, we've already had plenty of those in MK6. Not that there AREN'T super unlockables, I truly think there are, it's just that it's been only two weeks and you're an impatient turd.
MK1- Reptile, Ermac (nonplayable-nonfightable entity)
MK2- Jade, Smoke, Noob Saibot
MK3- Noob Saibot, Smoke (unlockable after like TWO MONTHS.)
UMK3- Noob Saibot, Rain (nonplayable-nonfightable character)

it was like this with deadly alliance 1 person complained about something and then everyone else went f***ing complain about the smallest of things ungreatfull so and soes you should be happy that there still working on the game
you know if this contines there wont be anything to complain about because ed boon and co will give up do you guys want that?

So the lack of SU really makes the game a disappointment, does it? The fact that the game is a fantastic fighting game, with great characters, more modes than many, interactive backgrounds, excellent gameplay...all this doesn't count, because there are no SU's?
Someone needs to be grateful that we are given such a good game in the first place...if there were SU's it would have been a bonus, the fact that there aren't doesn't bother me in the slightest!

God enough already, this needs to be closed. Action needs to be taken with these subjects. It is realy pathetic if you are disappointed if there is no SSC in the game, and if that makes it a bad game for you, then you really arent a person who just likes to play games. It also proves to myself that you are not a fan of MK either, a fan would be happy with what he has gotten and it wouldnt matter if it only had 6 characters, that person would play the game for months. So carry on with your day, hopefully the immaturity will leave your body.

You can text/hex view anything that is compressed data, and it can indeed be translated into something more readable, even if it's just file names. Any data can be translated, the programing language means little, when you're just trying to make it readable, it just matters how patient you are.
There are some sick computer experts out there that don't even believe in the contraction "can't". However, there's a reason for jolt cola (may it r.i.p.)and being a hermit. It takes a while to sort it out.
As for this game being completed for content, midway expects some extent of hacking, and probably wouldn't put all their eggs in one basket, so to speak. I would expect the .pak file on the disc to have a few folders that probably aren't so easy to locate.
However, why don't these posts just stop? Who cares one way or the other, to take it so personally? I've requested that we find out if there is anymore unlockable kontent as my question for fight night, free of spoiler how to unlock them, and hopefully it'll get answered.
I'm sure we'll know soon enough if we're wasting our time, until then, lighten' up, it's only a video game.

You are a tard... If you really have your masters in CS, that scares me. The ps2 uses a mips processor, xbox uses intel architect which is the same as your computer. You have to realize you can't run the game on your computer. It's programmed for the VERY specific hardware in the console. Also, they use dev kit's that have api that built into the system to make using the hardware easier. Also, I'm sure they obfrustrated the code to stop people from hacking it. That in a nut shell is writing the code for the pure purpose of making it difficult to reverse engineer.
The key things people should be looking at are the data files. For instances, the ps2 version has a file in the root dir named mkda.pak. A pak file is an archive, like your standard tar, zip, rar, ace, etc. This holds all the data for the entire game. Not the code, even though it could. I've been contimplating ripping the pak apart, but it's a lot more work that I care to do for one video game.

Anyway, why don't you take a suggestion and get the hell out of this forum or stop posting these kind of threads.

I guess you speak for yourself with your topic because Superunlockables or not I LOVE this game. It has everything I wanted: multiple fatalities for each character, death traps and awesome storyline with a lot of characters. So in a nutshell your topic is WRONG. I am a part of the MK Kommunity and I LOVE this game. So stop speaking for me, you suck at it.

I don't see this game as a disappointment in anyway. Its a great game that delivered all the stuff we asked for that wasn't in the last game.
As for not being able to read the game disk that dude is wrong. I spend all day fishing through the disk. You can read the files just fine. The problem is they store all thier files into another file so nobody but them knows how the information is stored. Looking through the data you can find chunks of data where there are readable "strings" or text that you can get some limited information from. For example the data files have Kitana, Blaze, Frost, and Drahmin listed as game characters. You can also tell they are missing fatalities and special moves. I haven't managed to get the effect I want yet but I have managed to get the game to load the last used character model instead of the one it should load. In other words I had a character that sounded, fought and had all the specials of Kobra but looked like the last picked player.

Yeah, speak for your self, since when does your ass make up the whole MK community? I was playing MK before while you were still sucking your moms tits. If you don't like the game then why are you here? Your no kind of MK fan, MK:D is the best game since MK2. I don't even wanna play another fighting agme till the next MK comes out because this one is so good. Also you have no fucking clue about how characters are in the game. Alls the hackers did was take characters from Konquest and use them in Arcade. These characters being ones you fight in Konquest means that these hackers didn't break the games code and find all the secrets, the ported stuff that was already avaible to a different part of the game. DVD's PS2 and Xbox games have such a crucial coding protecting it. Go buy a DVD from the store. Then go home and try to burn it. Won't work...thats because its got a safeguard to keep people frm coping it much like video games, except video games have an ever harder code because theirs a lot more the a video game. You have no idea what this game has in store. Go trade it in you dosn't deserve to play...

I'm not trying to hate on your post or anything but I have a number of Burned copies lying around.(and Yes I do own the actual game) And the hackers are using the real in game high detailed models on the disk for one on one fights and not the tiny konquest models. There are number of characters on the disk that nobody has found in konquest or anywhere else. So there could be more for sure.
ROFL @ the pop can!!!! LOL!!!
Oh man..that made my day..lol
Seriously smoke..give it a rest. This is a great game. Hey...it even has more characters than DA WITH their special characters. So who cares? IT's still a blast to play online. Don't say the whole community is disappointed, because I for one am perfectly happy with what is now my favorite MK game.

Again Ed Boon has said in a gamepro mag before " there will be characters to dig up long after your done with Konquest". Also MKO's E3 2004 coverage Boon said that there will be more than 24 charactrers. Also honestly do you really think that in under a month of Deception's release you are going to find 100% of the games secrets? I think not. So people haven't find everything nor I bet anytime soon. If anything we won't find these characters like Boon has said... Long after we finished Konquest
