Two ideas:
1. maybe your internet switch has a firewall built in,
if this firewall doesen't block normal transfer,
but blocks the request to load player statistics.
(maybe because they are on another server, or the firewall thinks you are installing a virus in that moment)
2. Any changes, viruses cheats, whatever are saved on the memory card. If you have a second memory card, you can check whether behavior is the same.
(try manual connection with another memory card)

Hey guys, here's the story...
As some of you are aware I had a car accident last year and fucked my back up. It's been just over a year now and having fought long and hard I've finally received my compensation money!
I'm not gonna tell you how much exactly but let's just say enough to finally buy the top spec DJ gear I've been after for some time.
So as a result, my spare time is gonna be spent doing something a lot more constructive than playing MKD from now on.
This is my goodbye... for now (until MKA hits the stores)
Big thanks and respect to all of DA esp my homie DelPrev! We'll have that series in the next installment of MK mate
Also thanks to the king of pwnage - Tyrone. It's been great fighting you, even if you do normally hand me my ass on a plate after it's been beaten by Jades big stick!
And everyone else - You know who you are... XL, FL, hell even Puzzler. GGs and see ya online in MKA. My KAK is gonna own y'all, and so will Kenshi (as long as they beef him up a bit)
I'll still be around the boards tho so look out for me and maybe I'll post some of my mixes for your aural pleasure!

@GTRAX: Great series man! I had a nice comeback in the first series, cause of N/S. He does well against a blocking-machine such as yourself!! LOL
Those Shu mirrors were tha bomb! although your Ashrah still is a bit ahead of mine, I'll own her one day, don't worry!

Oh man! That was some battle dude. Thoroughly enjoyed it all. No cheap crap shit just straight up all out war. I loved the mirror matches too. Your Kabal is definitely a force to reckon with and you adapt so well.
We gotta do it agin sometime. Just say the word and I'll be in the arena!

Nitro will visit me at 18th of august! so I thought we could meet all, one last time! because after that weekend, I wouldn't be online! I have to go to the german marine in september! I wanted to fight all of the DA's one last time! the final battle, allthough I'm very rusty, but I know we're all fun-gamer! so let's fight and have some fun!
