Could this possibly be Sonya Blade with a completely new look or a completely new story?

I know she looks nothing like Sonya, but I just noticed the blond hair of that character, and we all know Sonya is by far the only character to have bright blond hair in the games (maybe except Johnny Cage in MKDA).

So, what are your thoughts on this female? This is the character I'm more curious about, she seems to be very different...very weird.At first I thought that hat looked like a mushroom, she looks like some mystic character.

The guy she is fighting with looks very much like Nightwolf.

That may be hair, and if so could quite possibly be Siobhan from MKDA Koncept Fame (check mk6 trailer news thread for my post on the subject)...but it could also be a sash.

I'm intrigued by this person. If it's Sonya, then it's a complete costume change for her! I agree that it could be an Elder God. Maybe a friend of Raidens whose come to assist him.

Yes, I she looks NOTHING like her! But I was curious about the hair, maybe it is not even her hair! There are other gold colored parts in her cloth.

She looks like a god, but more like a type of “Order of light” monk.

1) Sonya would NEVER wear a hat like that.

2) That snake isn't in his hand, it's behind him coming out of the ground like all the other snakes.

The new chick reminds of some character from a movie i saw a loooong time ago. The outfit reminds me of star wars!? I also think she is definitely some goddess.

And if Raiden dies or betrays the Earth and united to the Dragon King... and Sonia becomes the new goddess of the Thunder¿? wow Perhaps it seems a madness... but if there is people who believe in the Evil Liu Kang, Liu Kano and ending of Drahmin... so that this cannot happen? tongue
It would be cool if that's a new character but hopefully not a goddess.

LOL, could happen. I just hope we see Sonya return. The game will feel so empty without her...

When I look at that picture I think it could be a goddess that we've never seen or heard of in the previous MK games. The outfit looks interesting and Asian. I don't understand the way the hat looks though. Oh and I think that could be Kung Lao she's fighting b/c I can almost see the rim of the hat he wears. I think what some of you are thinking is her hair could actually be a yellow sash. Other than that you can't see her face at all. But we'll have to wait and see in the next trailer or something.

It could be Sonya. I've only seen the video once, so I'll check again later and post again, but what if after hearing about Liu Kang's death, Sonya decides that she can't do much to help Earth Realm in the Special Forces, especially without a portal or base, so she decides to pray to the Elders about protecting Earth Realm.

So Sonya gets revamped, as well as a new story. It's probably a goddess or some kind of Elder, though.
