Since you've been so kind enough to enter my thread, what are your thoughts???
I can't help but be suspicious of channels that promote omitted content...
There are plenty of MK and DC characters I'd love to be able to play as, but I'm just very reluctant to subscribe to a concept that gives developers license to trim the edges. MK's history of 'we ran out of time' finishes and finished games that fail to live up to par do not help that at all, and I think it's a little disappointing so many consumers are ready to fork out for this kind of stuff.
Otherwise, sure, you can track back through the various rounds in these articles to find a catalogue of characters I'd love to see in the game (and some not mentioned). I just don't think concessions and additional expenses are what the growth of the medium is about, and in a game with a twenty-odd roster of characters, additional expenses is exactly what downloadable characters and additional materials are.

As Mr. Sloan always says, there is no "I" in team, but there is an "I" in pie. And there's an "I" in meat pie. Anagram of meat is team... I don't know what he's talking about.

When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yes sir, the check is in the mail."
To the thread starter, thanks for giving midway another idea for milking us dry:) I'm pretty sure we're all so thankful that you just HAD to bring this up. To answer your question which shouldn't have been brought up, NO, not unless there were 5 plus characters.
Hey, hey, man. Calm it down. I only raised a hypothetical issue here. Quit busting my balls over it. The possibility of DLC has neither been confirmed nor denied, and since this game is due out in the near future, it may not even happen.
I just wanted to "take the pulse" so-to-speak of the other MKO users to see where they stand on the issue. The vast majority that have posted have shown at least some interest in paying for characters, and that's all good to me. I think if the price is respectable enough, MK may get some business. For me, it's all going to come down to how much I get for my dollar.
Furthermore, if secret characters could be unlocked rather than bought, I'd go for that over purchasing DLC any day. I, however, see that prospect as being even more unlikely than DLC, so I simply raised discussion over a common hope I've seen floating around on the site: DLC. Like me or hate me for raising the question, it was going to happen eventually.
I will also go ahead and admit that Mick-Lucifer's argument over DLC and the idea that it might leave room for Midway and the MK team to slack off some is very convincing...I'm beginning to agree with his idea.
Since I don't see you agreeing with me over this issue, I'm going to stop it here. Jack Burton is done talking for now about this.

Ok..but i'm not. Not everyone is rich and have money, its hard times now, so just because you and a few others don't mind shelving out extra money because you HAVE it, doesn't me I or anyone else do.

I completely understand your point, man; I'm in college now, and I'm barely making ends meet myself. I'm just simply asking to see where everyone else stands on the issue. If anything, I'd purchase Kung Lao if he was made available. He's probably the only one I'd buy at this point.

Yeah, sorry if I came off agressive. I just don't want to give midway any ideas ya know? But yeah, I won't pay if there are less than six extra characters.

I would pay for Jack Burton and Lo Pan. Maybe Egg, Mao Lin, and Wang. Oh and the 3 storms. And I'm not just trying to humor Mr. Burton, I'm dead serious. Like knife to head dead serious.

I don't have a credit card anyway so I can't buy stuff :(

Unless you got lots of characters very cheaply then no. After paying £40 for a game, I have no intention of giving the makers even more money for stuff they've decided to make after. If there happy enough to make new stuff and enhance the game then great, but it should be free. Look at how much extra stuff Burnout Paradise is giving us for nothing!

Jack Burton understands...he doesn't have a credit card either.
