If you've played Super Smash Brothers Melee you know exactly what I'm talking about. Instead of always going through arcade, wouldn't it also be nice to go into Versus mode, select your character, select the CPU's, and then fight? Not only is it helpful if you just want a quick match, but you can also make your own mini-stories out of it.
Well, I haven't gotten any luck by myself, so I'm editing this for all of you to help me out.

No one's complained about this feature yet, so I'm counting on everyone else to help me out. This feature could make Deception of the most replayable games to date, so please, pitch in and send an e-mail asking for this feature.

Yea, I would like that. I prefer fighters that offer that option.

Finally an interesting idea post.... I have always wished for this as well. It would make a lot of sense to have an exhibition mode for fighting games... Sometimes you just feel like playing with a character for one round against a specific opponent. Good topic

That would be cool.Tao Feng had a mode similar too that. There is one thing I hope they add in Practice mode. You know how you took those lessons in Konquest in MKDA?They should let you pick a move and you perform them kind of like Virtua Fighter's practice mode.

I love this idea.

I remember playing arcade mode in MK:DA and having some cool battles with a certain character at a certain level but I couldn't re-create the battle because we didn't have this option.

It's the curse of the ghostly lurkers! (insert evil laughter of your choice...mine is Vincent Price.)

Back on topic, I would love to see this option. Especially when using/fighting a new character which I'm not that familiar with.

This DOES seem like the MOST BASIC mode known to mankind. I have always wanted this and was floored that such a simple thing wasn't in MK:DA.

It would add almost infinite OFFLINE replayablity if you could just choose your...

1. Character
2. Opponent
3. Arena

Damn you Midway for shunning us like that...

Oh man, I know how that is. To this day in Soul Calibur and Tekken I use practice mode for making mini-stories, but it just isn't the same. =/

I'm glad people also would like this idea, and if they incorporated it into normal Versus mode it wouldn't take up space hardly at all. A shame I couldn't get this point across before E3 =( I wonder if there's a way to get to Midway about this...

I would love to see this option. It'd be great to have in the game and would help with serious practice in the game.

In an effort to revive this (because apparently a LOT of people want this feature and many more should see it) does anyone know of any fighting games other than SSBM that have a one player versus mode?

Try To Find A Way To Contact Midway, Or Pray That They Have Put This In.
It Wouldn't Take Up Any Other Extra Room, & They Could Probably Do It Overnight, Just Adding The New Menu Style & Taking Out The Random Character & Level Selection.
They Do It In Arcade Mode, They Just Take Out The Random Selector.
They Shall Have It.

One player versus mode would add TONS of replay value. BTW, I play SSBM more than any other game I have because it has so much replay value.

One player versus mode = Infinite replay value

I'd definatly want this. The closest we've had so far is the Team mode in MK4.
It'd be so great to just have quick matches against the CPU and doing all the different fatalities without doing the arcade all the time.
It also allows you to practice with new characters against an opponent who can fight back. Practice mode's good to learn a characters moves, but it'd be nice to test them in actual battle without having to go through Arcade mode over and over again.

I'd love it, but I won't do a Hara Kiri move if it's not included.

Super Smash Bros Melee is one of the best games ever. I play it everyday, and i'm a monster at it, i absolutely love it.

You dont know how much i love your idea bro. It would be awesome if you could have battles for fun with the CPU, and choosing there difficulty would be even better. Having this option would be sweet.

And i agree, this is exactly why SSBM has so much replay value. Added to this, i think it would also be pure BAD ASS if MKD has an option like in SSBM where you can have a fast melee. Just imagine the MK characters all fighting at high speeds, KICK AZZ!grin

Man, did you ever read my mind, brey. I hope they put the Versus Computer in Deception, otherwise... I can't do the mini-stories!(I probably could, but it's freakin hard to) I don't know why game developers don't put that in games any more(except the pimp SSBM).

Theres really no reason to not include it. That option is not hard to implement.

Yah i would love this only because I got bored playing arcade on DA probably cuz it doesn't have everything deception will YAH!!!
I would love to have this option too.

It could be

P1 VS P2

P1 VS com.

com vs P2

com vs com

You could have it so the computer chooses another set of fighters after the match is done.

I like watch mode.

Then you could choose how many fighters.

1-6 like the team battle in Tekken3, and I think SC.
