Characters would be an awesome bonus tho, and would definatley breathe new life into the game. If they were to release, say, two from each side, I would love to see:
MK: Johnny Cage, Reptile
DC: Lobo, Black Adam (Lobo would fit MK perfectly)
For me, I think downloadable content is entirely possible. For a company like Midway, it may be slightly harder for them to achieve it than say a bigger company. In the end, I always thought we would be more likely to see stages than characters.

Pros: is that the customers are more satisfied.
Cons: this might lead to less profits since they want to include these characters in next MK.
I kinda wish I could import my kreate-a-fighter into this game too. Not the mode or anything, just the fighter. I made some cool characters for MKA(who didn't?). Jason Voorhees was the coolest one. It's highly unlikely though...I think

Well since most characters will no longer exist in the next MK we can remove that cons. Besides that they had Bo' Rai-Cho in both MKDA and MKD. I'd really like to see Fujin, Kintaro or Brainiac as DLC characters.

Downloadable content would be great for this game... more fighters, more arenas, alternate costumes, etc... but frankly I would prefer the MK team to focus more on MK9. This series needs to be reinvented, and the new unreal engine is the catalyst it needs.
I'd rather see a though-out, graphically gorgeous, perfect Mortal Kombat game rather than trying to appease the fans for this non-canon test drive labeled as MK8.
Please, Boon... focus less on the additives of MK8 and more on MK9.
Rant ended. Goodnight everyone.
As anxious as I am for the next REAL MK game, I hope they spend A LOT of time on it, i.e. more than 2 years. I want to be wowed. Blown away.

Oh well I'm not sure Midway is going to give them more than a year dude. It will be interesting to see if they do.
Also, goodmorning
I wouldn't want to see new characters introduced with content. I don't think it would happen anyway due too adding the content for online play (renders, wire-frames, fighting styles, moves, extra)
The roster has been completed. Just keep your fingers crossed for you favourite characters in the next game.

As for the characters, we may see more than one MK vs DC. If your character doesn't make this one...maybe the next. My guess is that Quan Chi and Doomsday would be contenders for end bosses.

When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yes sir, the check is in the mail."

First and foremost, Jack Burton agrees that time is a must for the next canon MK game...
What I disagree with is this notion that this MK vs. DC game is MK8; THAT IS NOT THE CASE. This game is a crossover game; the storyline isn't canon. Therefore, this is by no means MK8. The game we are able to call MK8 is going to be a straight MK game that takes place right after the events of MKA.
As for this game, I'm in full support of it overall. I think this is a potentially good title the way it is shaping up. I would love for there to be some DLC, but I can see where it would be a bit difficult for a company like Midway to provide...I hope they give us something, though. I'm all for the Dark Knight costumes idea, as well as alternates for everyone. Characters would be a delightful bonus to be sure. I personally have my fingers crossed for Kung Lao. But hey, if it doesn't pan out, I won't be too disappointed. I'll still play it.
And THAT'S what Jack Burton has to say at this time.

Sorry dude but Ed keeps calling it that

Jack Burton doesn't understand Boon sometimes...
Probably easier for them to call it MK8, like microsoft calls their projects Longhorn and Mojave.
I am sure they called it MK8 for a long time before coming up with MK Vs. DC. Probably habit.

Death is a door and I am the doorman - Thanatos from Eternal Champions: Challenge From The Dark Side.

Oh...well then...Ed, you're crazy man!

Let it be MK8. Then the Midway team can make MK9. Then when I'm done with school I can take over production on.......Mortal Kombat X
