being back in the forums again after recovering from my operation and getting back to normal life has been harder than i thought things have changed since i was last here and it seems to be full of haters nowadays!

it made me realise that the guys from MKT probably frequent the forums anknowingly to see what the general consensus is with regards to the games and opinions on the various things we discuss.

I cant be the only one out there who doesnt get the chance to put accross to them the appreciation i have for the work they do in regards to MK. For 16 years this has brought joy to my face and has caused many a sleepless night with friends round eventually leading to real life brawls as the drink pours!!!

I thought it would be a good idea for the non-haters to leave a wee message here for the team to read if they ever do, with a complete opposite tact from the hating and a little bit more appreciation.

I would like to thank the team for giving me a franchise i was nraised with and a franchise that has stayed with me. If MK died tomorrow the haters would would be full of regret. It isnt the greatest fighter but the pressure on MKT is massive year on year from the beaks at Midway to meet deadlines and deliver another game after game. MK is the midway cash cow and they know it.

Again i thank MKT for the many years of fatalities, music, characters, fantasy stories, Scorpion!!!, countless MK nights and arcade madness, the belief that MK is on the up again, the memorable moments when you pull off that 13 hit combo followed by FINISH HIM!

anyone else feel the same? spread the love MK IS BACK.

my stance is that even for all the flaws as you help shed some light on in the opther thread i am with the guys and i appreciate their efforts and for giving me a franchise to follow for 16 years

I think the fact we're all here is implication enough of that appreciation.
It's not an especially interesting opinion if you're unable to disconnect fandom and enjoyment, to make informed critiques.

I know I tend to disregard the drooling grins of baseless praise as much as I do unfounded attacks. It's the popular trend of the reverse-troll, as far as I'm concerned.

The earlier point was just that this is a counter point to the same discussion, though. It isn't a seperate issue (or thread).

Depends ^, with threads on here at times like say... "Boon you're an idiot for making MK a crossover with DC" or "Boon WTF is wrong with you" or "Has Boon lost his mind" etc that I've seen on here, that's hardly a sign of appreciation as far as I'm concerned nor logical criticism but rather flat out stupidity and pointless hatred really.

Are there people on here that are REAL MK fans? Sure, but there's also sadly some users on here that are indeed MK haters flat out....

I mean MKO had to actually make a "ranting thread" for pete's sake, that says it all...

i agree with you all the way, wouldnt it be nice if once, just once the guys that create the franchise for which the TRUE fans love, get a little thanks ive been offline for ages due to medical reasons and was in hospital for a long time and thought it would be worthwhile scrolling through the numerous topics to see what id missed. there wasnt a single one that gave praise, or let the MKT know that the real fans who have bought every game, loads of merchandise, shown support, and forgave minor (sometimes major) problems, will stand by them no matter what.

It is what thing to go on a forum of a franchise which you CLAIM to be a fan of and criticise, but it is another to be a true fan that can demonstrate an ability to be constructive in criticism not just a simple case of "screw you boon" or other profanities. Give the guys a break otherwise theyll grow tired and focus their attentions on other works.

i understand people who rant about how they pay £40.00 or more so they expect a decent fighting game etc... but mk under all the crazy and sometimes unnecessary gimmicks can be a solid fighter that contains only a few mistakes. they may have had 16 years to perfect it but times change demands on games are greater and timescales with midway are pressing, if they had all the time in the world wed have Mortal Kombat GTA style, but its not gonna happen so i ask real fans to show the MKT a little support for a change thats all.

So, really, this proves two points.
It's nice that there's still enough life in the brand to stir people to have a lot to say, and people should just ignore your misread jibberings.

the point trying to be made here is that criticism should be constructive not just random swearing. i criticise like anyone else but IMO i gave a detailed reason why, i started this topic simply to let the guys know that even though there are mistakes we appreciate their efforts, it makes a change does it not.

I love MK enough to look past the flaws with Deception and Armageddon and enjoy those games and still play them today, but a DC crossover is pushing it. I love MK..I always have and I always will. I hate DC..always have.

I appreciate the things the MK team has done in the past, but I really don't appreciate what they're doing now. At least it's non canon.

I thank you as well boon, Even on MK's worst day(game) i still played because it was better than most games best day. Thank you MK team and keep em coming, glad to see we are about to take it to street fighter again!

Thanks Ed Boon and MK team. For bringing me so much joy and pleasure out of ripping out someone's spine. I was raised on MK and I'd hate to think what I'd be like without it.

As much as I criticize , and will continue to criticize, the MKTeam, it is purely out of love and concern. You guys have already got my money, because I love the series and no matter how disappointed I may be with some of the games (*coughMKAcough*) I still enjoy them at least to some extent.

Mortal Kombat is almost as big a part of my childhood as Nintendo is. During family gatherings my aunt, her daughter, my uncle, and I would get together and play UMKIII (yes, I realize this is a very weird image). I have a fond memorie of my uncle always choosing Sindel just to use her throw while yelling "Hair 911!" , of my aunt favoring Sub-Zero , despite the fact she couldn't use any specials, my cousin playing Sonya, and my jubilant shouts of "Raiden is my favorite good guy, and Cyrax is my favorite bad guy" and also having a certain amount of respect for Kurtis Stryker. I appreciate those memories. And it is for that reason that I am so critical of you guys, because I know you can do better when I see something to call you on.

But, it is for that same reason that I defend you when you've done nothing wrong. It is for that reason that I chose to stand against all the baseless hate for MKvDCU.

I'm glad you're still in the game, because for certain members of my family, MK is important. MK still has the power to inspire my uncle's humor. To bring my cousin back to gaming. And to provide hours of entertainment for my aunt. I'm only harsh on you guys because I don't want to lose that.

On here they are, ...apparently you haven't read the shit posted on here. Actually, if anything I post a hell of alot more logical posts on here pertaining to MK then you do...thus why everyone always gets on your case for your relentless hatered and overall pointless bashing of MKsleep

here, here. mad props to mr. boon, vogel, goskie, tobias, forden, beran, michicich, and all the others, past or present, who gave me some of my fondest teenage memories. mk has been a big part of my life and i join in thanking all who made it possible, and continue to do so. here's for another 16 years.

I would also like to thank Ed Boon, John Tobias and the rest of the MK Team for all of the awesome moments in Mortal Kombat. Just like the OP, this game has entertained me for 16 years, all starting way back in 1992 when Mortal Kombat hit the arcades. I asked repeatedly for coins from my parents, just so i shove them into that coin slot,

I Thank MK For the amazing storyline that i have followed since the beginning. I've written my TV show based on the series. Fatalities and the combo system have been a joy to use. The Fatalites, truly an historic landmark in the history of video gaming. The Characters are amazing, the originals are at least. No other video game as Bruce Li in it and John Claude Van Damne in it. The Pit, my favorite stage. Mileena's awesome picture. "Sexy Mileena." It makes evil look so good. And when i wasn't playing the game, i was watching the cartoon on USA.

I could mention a lot more but i can't think of anything else right now. So, thank you MK Team. You have made my childhood the best it could have been. Now, excuse me while i beat the shit out of Hsu Hao with Scorpion.
