Okay, I know this sounds crazy, but I have two Konquest games going on. One where I am an old man and the other where I just re-started last night. I will be doing both back and forth, and I WILL do the Kung Lao missions and I WILL search around for extra content that cannot be found without doing the Kung Lao mission and I will report my findings when they are indeed found.

anyone put the MK:D PS2 disc in their drive. in one of the folders is SFDs, i believe that's the extension. anyway, i did some hunting and found a SFD translator to MPG, which on a side note, is really crappy. anyway there are a few SFDs with kombatants names attached. the ones that interested me are the SONY, GORO, KITA, JAX.sdf's.
so i converted them and there is ed boon and some others (intereview style) talking about Sonya, Goro, Kitana, and Jax. where in they show clips from them in other games.
Goro at the beginning is a rendered model of him on a Trading Type Card. Same for the other three. However for Sonya, and Kitana it has a MK:D bio. The bottom of the traiding cards say "Mortal Kombat: Deception".
I don't know if this is anything. The videos weren't translating well and could only get bits and pieces, but they are there. And in all the Krypt guides i see nothing about a krypt containing these videos? or anywhere else that these videos are at.
mean they are hidden characters? maybe that there are more coffins? the fact is that this is on the disc, but no where in the game that anyones found. A SFD file is a video file used since i guess dreamcast for video. so it must be playable someplace in the game? the software i used for converting was... SFD2MPG (it had XBOX something or another attached to it). i got it to play with VLC (at least to a point where you can see something) and you can listen to all the audio with Windows Media Player.
anyway, the characters on the cards and in the bios were rendered newly. but they showed no action shots from MK:D, but just a thing worth pointing out.

You can get the Oni tooth in Earthrealm BEFORE you leave out the gate.
It was late at night when this crazy lookin Oni was walking around and I punched him and got his tooth and gave it to the girl and her brother who wanted proof that Oni existed.

Maybe its because they are part of the 25 extra bios on the Kollectors Edition

I got an e-mail response back from my source. Read it. Take it as you will, like usual.
Jeff,
Concerning "Mortal Kombat: Deception", here are the answers to some questions in which you e-mailed to me.
1. What are the names 'Fujin' and 'Stryker' in the clouds for in the main menu?
Answer: As far as I know, they are just there for fun, and to give a hint of things to come for future games. It's basically nothing more than an inside joke.
2. Once you beat Konquest mode and receive Raiden and Liu Kang, are there more missions and things to unlock?
Answer: Yes. As time moves on, and you figure out more things, more missions tend to appear. Konquest is huge, and will take a long time to completely find everything that is hidden. As I already told you a while back, every character is playable in Puzzle and can be unlocked. Try looking for them. *wink*
3. Are there more than 24 playable characters. MEANING, since everyone online these days doesn't understand the word 'playable', I mean are there more characters that you can play as in Arcade mode and Online mode that aren't included in the main 24? Sorry if that sounds confusing.
Answer: There are more than 24 playable characters. Try Konquest. If you and anyone of your friends have found them by now, I will give you money. It will be awhile, I'm sure, before you figure it out. From what I know, Midway made sure to hide them really well. It might be a good month or so before you hear one of your friends go "I found the first clue!!"
4. If there are any hidden characters, do you have any idea whom they might be? And are they Raiden and Liu Kang? And is the boss playable?
Answer: They are not Raiden and Liu Kang. The real hidden characters are some characters from Deadly Alliance. The boss, last I heard, wasn't going to be playable.
5. If anything you've told me before is true, could they have taken the secret characters out at the last minute if they are not in there?
Answer: Yes, they could have, but the last I know, they were 100% sure that they were going to include the hidden characters in the final build of the game.
I hope this helps you with Mortal Kombat: Deception. Also, come by the store later, I have some shocking news about San Andreas you might want to hear.

Maybe its because they are part of the 25 extra bios on the Kollectors Edition

i should have been clear, that isn't on the special edition game set. this is the typical standard edition (w/o MK1) they wouldn't have put it on the disk for the standard if it's supposed to be on the special.

KenshiMaster16:
that's promising. but there are definetly xtra characters. after all the crap the fans gave midway about Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, they wouldn't do that again. Hence the new Konquest.

I have the regular version for Playstation 2 and I can see all those videos (Goro, Kitana, Sonya....) by just going to Kontent. Unless I don't understand what you are talking about.

I am having a really hard time believing that Midway hid secret charaters so well in the game that we would not have found them 1 week after release. Think about it. What GREAT SECRET has ever taken more than a week to find in a Mortal Kombat game? And I doubt that Shang Tsung for example is playable. The announcer doesn't even say his name when he wins a round when you fight him in Conquest. And considering that the people in the videogame magazine business have had their copies of the game for even longer than the rest of us, it is looking very unlikely that such a super secret would not have been found/leaked by now.
The point that I am trying to make is...maybe Midway finally listened to their fans and added CIA-level high security super secret stuff to the game like all of us have just been waiting for for so long, but it is not looking very likely.
If Midway has included super secret characters not on the main character select screen however, we all need to give them a ton of RESPECT for hiding them so well! Big up yourself Midway! Otherwise, a legion of MK fanatics like myself will feel quite a huge letdown.
P.S. Soundtrack for this game is great. I am glad it is selectable.

They won't say you anything. 10 Character bios are on the normal edition. But the other 13 are on the kollectors ed.
Shang has the Snake, and Mantis styles. I haven't seen a weapon or sig. moves from him. Quan Chi has his DA styles and his weapon stance is now a single Broadsword. Why program their DA models to have new fighting styles if they aren't playable(Shang's Mantis/Quan's single Broadsword)? Interestingly, Kung Lao had Mantis, and Braoadsword in DA. Clue?

After reading that, months to find and unlock, that to me tells me its time based off Konquest, I am already in the process of advancing my time in Konquest and planed on doing it anyway. We shall see.
Also, I have the normal non-kollector MKD, and I have bios for Sonya, Kitana, Goro,Jax, and possibly someone else(besides the D crew)
And isn't "Monster" Scorpion's fabled Knight costume?

I'm still 50/50 on the WQ koffin. There are just too many coincidences involved. Whoever figured out the whole 45678 thing, nice work. After listening to the backwards talk there is still one thing bothering me. and that is "Ed Boon 4-9-0". Now I could have misheard it, but playing it over and over I'm almost certain the #'s 490 follow his name. Also the door and arrows really stand out a lot.
But the chance of it just being a programer's goof still holds water. It very well could be a place holder, but why WQ? I know QW are the first two letters on a keyboard, but if one was to use it as a place holder wouldn' they have just typed it QW and not WQ? I know it sounds like I'm reaching, but I'm just using logic here. Why bother doing it backwards? Why the Koin value? Why Onyx Koins and not Saphire? Seeing as how they are the first set of Koins (both in MKDA and MKD). Also if it was a glitch it should work going both backwards and fowards, but it only occurs when starting at the front and cycling to the back. As take into consideration that there were more Koffins in MKDA than appear in MKD, and add to the fact that a few items repeated from the last game(MK4 renders and such).
With that said I just want to touch up on some other things brought up:
-The people running around in the krypt are just a novelty. A good portion of the old charecter show up here from MK4/Gold and MKDA.
-I don't see how it could be possible to hop in a boat and sail to an island. That's just a little too far fetched if you ask me.
-As far as super unlockables go I'm aboslutly positive Raiden is NOT one of them. He's a viewable charecter in the strategy guide, while Liu Kang is just named Mystery, and without and picks or name for moves. Now I'm not saying Liu is a super unlockable, just noting on the level of detail to hide the two.
-The mpegs that person found on their game disc are viewable in the actual game from the start. Look through your Kontent. They listed Kards for those charecters. The deluxe packge has even more.
Keep the hope alive guys. I'm sure someone will eventually find SOMETHING no one has seen/heard of yet.
well..has anybody beat arcade mode with everybody yet?

Jeff,
Here are the answers to your questions;
1. Are you SURE Liu Kang is not the super unlockable character? If he isn't, why did they name him mystery? It seems that Liu Kang IS the super unlockable character.
Answer: Yes, I am sure Liu is not one of the extra characters. Brady Games named him Mystery in the guide for the same reason they didn't include all the Fatalities, Hara-Kiri's, and Konquest mode mini-missions. Because Midway wanted to keep surprises underwraps. Anyone, even people who aren't huge fans of Mortal Kombat, like me, knew of Liu Kang being in the game, seeing as it was printed everywhere in Magazines and spread around as fast as if someone had killed President Bush. Midway making Brady Games not formally include Liu Kang in the Strategy Guide was just a dumb mistake. Everyone in the gaming industry knows from interviews and rumors that Boon was going to listen to the fans this time around. If he listened, don't you think he would have improved upon one of the biggest things fans bitched about, including you and other customers of my store; sucky extra characters like in 'Deadly Alliance'? I think Boon would be a dumb prick if he didn't improve upon that issue for 'Mortal Kombat: Deception'.
2. How many side missions are there in total in Konquest?
Answer: If you do everything in order, there should be well over one hundred. Some will only become unlocked if you complete a task at a certain point in the game. If you want to skip through, thats fine by me, but I can definately tell you that you won't find everything Midway has hidden in the game. It might take you a couple of tries, atleast, to figure out the major chain of events to unlocking more missions. Also, keep in mind the clock system, and your characters age. Some stuff, after a certain age, never happens again. I know this as a fact.
Again, I hope this helps you in your quest to master 'Mortal Kombat: Deception'. Happy gaming.
first off i want to know if kintaro is in the konquest and second where can i find kitana's ring? and liu kang has a ghost form..can u play as him that way?
