Now, some speculations. "Jesus" may be, or may be not, this shadowy all-white character wearing a big white hat - in this case, it's a sombrerro (and he also should wear some machinegun ammo belts somewhere, too). Personally, I except him to shout "carramba!" and "shit! fuck you!" a lot. You know, like the real Mexican.

Ah, wasn't it you, who used the word "gay" as the first in this thread? As for our Mexican friend, he definitely *not* gay. Possibly just merry (or "whatever"). As fo me, I don't need to "calm down", primarily because I'm not and wasn't upset.

Uniqueness... I remember that in, say, MK2 most of character had 2 *exactly the same* outfits (male and female ninjas), and the rest were just some shirtless guys in trouses (plus 2 shirtless guys with no trouses).

It's just the MK style and it's always was, and just don't pretend you noticed this only a while ago.

I really like idea of Mileena being back (I was sure she's deader than dead), but I also think Kitana's MK5 outfits were actually better (minus really stupid pantyhose). So, I love a ponytail and that she have her eyepils back, but that's all about it.

I hope for a more classic-looking alternative costume, more ninja-esque and not just more flash being covered, or anything like that. Just look for Ayame of Tenchu 3, or maybe even better Hibana from Kunoichi - hey, she's *fully* clothed and still damn sexy.

You guys are right. Outfits should show skin and stuff to an extent. I do believe that the outfit should match the characters personality and possible fighting style aswell and not just be slapped on. But....Midway is going to do what the Majority want which is i'm guessing skimpy revealing outfits. That's how it is in video-games "sex sells" and maybe to some phycological extent if someone sees a women in a skimpy outfit fighting for them then they will feel wanted by that polygon fighter (like a polygon girlfriend). True the fighters do have similar outfits (to an extent) but midway may make up for that with alternate costumes. Don't rule out the outfits yet until the final product has come out. Lets just wait and see what happens I guess. Also like you some of you guys said a fighter can be sexy without showing skin if you can pull it off properly. I don't consider the outfits in mkd or any game hoeish cause I don't believe in that but they are provacative and geared towards men instead of just geared to all tastes.

Everyone knows MK games are heavily inluenced by an Asian culture, and particulary inspired by Asian cinema. If you don't like it, you should pick up some fully Western games instead - because of the Asian culture being very, very specific.

Now you complain about being maimed, and I'll tell you something. In a classic samurai saga called Lone Wolf, there's a scene where the hero is being attacked by a squad of ninja women. Not only he kills them, he actually cuts off one's breast in the process. That's a really, really classic '70's movie, based on the even older manga series, and that's just one example of their culture. (Culture, which, mind you, in its extremal point led among other things to the incident of the Rape of Nanking, when estimated 70,000 Chinese women were gang-raped and then killed in 3 weeks in just one captured city. Of course, now they're not doing things like that anymore, largery becouse the war ended - yet they were "sensitive" enough to organise a mass orgy with hundreds of local prostitues in China on the very anniversary of the massacre.)

Again more on the subject, people are complaing about "nudity", or how clothes might be torn and its possible consquences (see: "nudity"). I can name at least 3 different Chinese kung-fu movies, employing motive on a female ninja's clothes being torn and breasts visible, or even one ninja literally jumping out of her clothes to distract a young Shaolin monk with a full frontal nudity (thus enabling her friends to capture him). And I'm not even talking about porn/hentai.

and that's actually even somewhat historically accurate, as ninjas would do just anything to win or complete a mission. For example, one of favorite tactics of the kunoichis was seduction, used not only in spying but also in assasinations - as they would take men to a bed and than cut their throats or stab them when they're most unexcepting. (This motive was even used in a one Mileena fanfiction, when she posed as a prostitute and then slaughtered some guy and then his bodyguards.)

maybe the solution is to not have this large plethora of female fighters. just have say... 2. and those 2 could kick ass and have sex appeal! to please the perverts and the diversity wishers.
