Didn't it say in MKDA that Mavado killed Kabal? If that is so then thats three that have been killed. Goro's death was false in someway... that was a main point in MKII, "The appartent death of Goro?" they never really explained how he returned, but he is definately dead and should stay so for story purposes.
Raiden can be killed. In Baraka's MKG ending Quan Chi talks about the Elder Gods being dead, so gods Elder or not can die. No sure how unless they are in human form. If Raiden is dead then Fujin needs to step up to the plate and stop sitting in the background and being a wuss..

I have noticed that if an explanation of a death includes the words "apparent" "thought" and "believed" then they are not really dead, here are my examples.

"Kano had heard of Kabal's apparent demise at the hands of Mavado."-- Kabal is not dead.

"Many believed that Kung Lao had died from injuries suffered during the final fight against Shao Khan."-- Kung Lao is not dead.

"Facing execution for his failure and the apparent death of Goro,..."-- Goro wasnt dead at that point.

"Kano is thought to have been killed in the first tournament."-- Kano is not dead.

I think the only time a character never apparently dead or presumed dead was in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance.

Raiden: Liu Kang is dead.

And he's coming back ANYWAY! grin

Obviously death means nothing in these games (but that's probably a good thing, because everytime I play I kill more or less everyone) wink

someone fucked up the layout.
fix it plzkthx.

Also, while Liu Kang is dead, if he comes back as a zombie or in spirit then that means he obviously didn't come back to life or got resurrected. The dude is still dead.

RAIDEN is DEAD? Where in the hell did this come from? He did reliquish is status of Elder God to aid earth's warriors but he's still a God. He still is the Thunder God and I won't believed he is killed till I see it with my own eyes. How on earth can you kill a God? With Raiden being elemental taking human form it would be kinda hard to kill something like that. If Raiden is somehow killed or dies then I agree that they need to get FUIJIN off of his "worthless" God ass and take over for Raiden.

Who said you can't kill a God? They can be killed as we saw Quan Chi kill Shinnok in MK4. I never knew Shinnok to be anything more than a God. He wasn't elemental or anything like that. God's are immortal but they can be killed. Immortal means you live forever not that you can be killed.

In MK:D there has to be alot of answers that need answered and here are a few I liked answered......

1.Is Shao Kahn really dead or not? We see his helment in blood and nothing more. In Reptile's Konquest it says he found is master slained. Was Kahn just too weak to move or what?

2.This whole Raiden issue of him being killed? If he is dead, who in the hell is gonna lead Earth's warriors?.....KITANA, please. Retire her!, Liu Kang?....he's a ghost and a zombie. What side if any is he gonna side with and will he have a feeling or will he be "lifeless"?

3.These resereted fighters. Do we really want Liu Kang back? Iam not saying that Lui Kang's story should be interesting but why bring him back? Leave Cage out of this and yes Cage was killed and brought back by Raiden.

If Raiden is dead, couldn't he back as a God Spectre. I mean Scorpion is dead, but is a spectre, which means he can keep dying, but still be come back in a new body. Wouldn't that be an option?

Raiden did give up his rank as an elder god to help the earth fighters. So Raiden is indeed mortal now,but if he dies will he become imortal again or will he die a mortals death.BTW the other elder gods have to be sick of Raiden always giving up his elder god rank,MK1 til MKDA he keeps becoming Mortal."What's next I want to go to spring break so i'm becoming mortal...just for the weekend."tongue

Actually in Mk1 he was never a elder god to begin with. He only gained that position after MK4 and then he relinquished it, he didnt ever have it multiple times.

And another thing, why cant a god die exactly? I mean I understand the whole immortality thing but this is mortal kombat where a fallen ELDER GOD as Shinnok was killed in MK4. so yeah, raiden can die.

As far as Raiden being dead, it could actually be an interesting story arc. I'd like to see more and more of the older characters phase out to bring in a new generation of fighters. As far as Johnny Cage goes, he definitely did die, the loophole was that he died while earthrealm was under siege by Kahn, and since he took over earthrealm by breaking the rules and using Sindel, Cage did not go into the afterlife and his life was restored. I mean his name was on the grave in Mk3 in the graveyard, remember? As for Liu Kang, im kinda pissed he's back myself, however if he's back as some sort of an Undead Sub Boss being manipulated by the Dragon King, then im all for it, as long as he's not playable, I think that would be a great story arc.

If I remember correctly, To participate in Mortal Kombat, a warrior who is immortal must give their immortality up, at least until the end of the tournament.

"Inmortal" in the sense which don't spend the years for you, but that doesn't prevent you to die by other causes.
