Many rumors aim at their death in intro of the MKDeception, but although I believe that it will be thus, would not give it by fact until seeing what they tell us on the matter in the E3.

If they (Shang and Quan) can kill/defeat Shao Kahn, then Raiden should be a walk in the park.

But there's no point is there? Raiden will resurrect in the next game. Screw them for bringing back Liu Kang. :(

And there is a magazine that says he's a returning playable character. Until its confirmed we can only guess. But since he is suppose to die in the intro my guess is that the Dragon King would have something to do with it.

It was meant for Raiden to die in MK:DA. Proof lies here. In the MK:DA intro did you ever noticed how Raiden quoted how he gave up his status as elder god to join to fight the deadly alliance. Only this time I think Raiden will be gone at least for a few more installments. I don't think Boon and Co. will just ressurect him again.

They only resurrected one person in the MK series, Johnny Cage, I dont see how bringing Liu Kang back is butchering it. Besides this is a video game not reality-- resurrections really isnt a problem as long as there is a reason for it, which i might add they have been doing a good job of so far.

So... I can't tell. Is this rumor, Or fact?

And it might be cool to have Raiden as a being of pure electricity. There have been beings of pure ice, pure fire and even pure rock. So electricity would be pretty cool.

And they pushed it too far by bringing Liu Kang back from the dead. But at least he has an interesting twist that i'm kinda anxious to see... But i'm still bummed.

Mileena was killed during MKII by Kitana, and brought back by Shinnok, no?

And technically, Kung Lao and Kano died during MK3, but MKG retconned the first, saying Kung faked it, more or less, and MKDA told us that Kano _nearly_ died.

Shao Kahn and Raiden are both Immortal.

Doesn't that mean they cannot die? So yeah, they'll be back. grin
Edit: That's a good point. Maybe someone cut off Raiden's head
and absorbed his Quickening. Maybe Shang Tsung. wink

i will tell you what happened,

the earthrealm fighters cant get into outworld, cause hso huo destroyed the portal, right before getting his heart implant taken out by jax.

raiden can still make his own portal, by using his powers.

But, the Deadly alliance kills raiden in earthrealm.

and raiden isnt immortal nomore cause he wantedto aid the earth fighters and relingwished his status as elder god, so he is now human like and also mortal and can die.

i knew he would die when i read bout that in MKDA, its obvious, they only killed him off, to find an excuse for why the earthrealm ppl arent in this game, thats the motive.

He will be back i am sure, he kicked ass in MKDA.

It is true Raiden relinquished his status as an elder god, but too many of you miss the fact entirly that he is still a god. His words "I will remain here on earth as GOD of thunder." There for, he can not be killed. He is still a god only in the human form. Gods can not die. He can however sit this one out if that is the teams choice.

YES! Also, like I said before we have one mag that says he is returning, a site that says he dies, two posters who both state they have inside info--one says Rayden returns the other says he dies.....Anyone got a coin?

The intro shows Rayden death, killed by t he Deadly alliance. He blows up.

BUT this was NOT supposed to be used. We will have to wait and see.

Where can I see this intro? Hopefully it was one of many ideas they had but decided test but not use.

I stand correct on the Mileena one. But Kung Lao and Kano never died, yes their deaths may have been retconned but its not the same as being resurrected.

Johnny Cage NEVER died.
He's been in every MK so far...

MK1 - Included Johnny Cage
MK2 - Included Johnny Cage
MK3/UMK3/MKT - Included Johnny Cage
MK4/MKG - Included Johnny Cage
MK:DA - Included Johnny Cage

...Please tell me if I missed something.BTW,the movies and cartoons don't count because they follow different storylines.

Man, I would be really pissed if they did that.
The Deadly Alliance had already killed Liu Kang, now in the new game they kill of Raiden too?

That idea is story lacking, it's just a repeat of what happened in Deadly Alliance. Raiden is also the Thunder God, It would be impossible to kill an element from Earth unless you destroy the whole planet.
