If Rain were in the game, he'd have some story connected to Kitana and Sindel probably and Edenia. We have enough ninjas in the game, but if they could do as good a job with him as they have done with the others, then bring him back. Otherwise they shouldn't bother.

I liked Rain's story. However, if Rain comes back, he needs to be completely different. Not a ninja at all, he should be dressed more like a general would, since he's the son of Edenia's long dead general.

Yea, he should be given a shot. But I think he should be in MK7. There are a good number of ninjas now in MKD, so he might as well be saved for the next one.

All I know is they should never take subby out of the game..he IS mortal kombat, you take him out the game will goto shit..hence mk3..it was subby but cuz of his look didnt seem like him yet he was still cool though..but they took out scorpion which took alot of the feel out..so keeping sub and scorp in every mk is a smart idea..and ya I went off the topic..ANYWAYS about rain, I dont see why they cant make him a hidden character..I mean there gonna have alot of other characters to balance out the ninja to w.e the fux ratio, so rain does seem to be a possibilty..like someone else said purple with a chromish and black armor would be hotness for his alt..or make that his regular and his umk3 styled look or something more upgraded kinda like mavado's alternate..but w/e I think rain can spice up the game a notch and bring a good twist to the story line..He can easily side with the evil side and betray them and join the good side (Hence the deception) so w.e lets jus wait and see what happens..To many demands and high expectations = let down..so dont expect to much orelse ur not going to like the game b/c u didnt get all u want..

As long as Ed Boon is involved with Mortal Kombat, there will never be a MK game without Sub Zero and Scorpion.

I think every person who has ever been in a Mortal Kombat game deserves to be in at least two (not counting people who were in MK3 and UMK3 and MKT, MK4 and MKG, MKDA and MKDATE, obviously) So Rain is definitely on that list. Who are our one-hit wonders at this point? (I refuse to count Meat and Mokap)

I'm sorry, but I loathe him. Horrible specials (except the lightning), horrible fatalities, and an unimpressive (IMO) stoyline. They'd need to completely revamp him to get me interested. Obviously, they'd revamp his appearance and storyline, but he'd need new moves and all. No teleport-roundhouse crap.

What about Shinnok? He was only in MK4 and Mythologies, like Fujin. (I could be mistaken.)
As for Rain returning, doesn't really matter to me although I will admit he's one of the few ninjas I don't mind too much. The only other two I can stand (and actually like) is Sub-Zero and Scorpion. To me Rain was just a Rayden replacement in a game which he was missing. Lose a thunder god...wait a ninja that can summon thunderbolts appears. He is not a rip-off, but he needs a little bit more of a story and perhaps a few better moves (the only one I liked was the thunderbolt).

With Sindel in this game, It would be a great oppertunity story-line wise. The Queen is helping her Earth allies battle a new threat that also threatens Edenia and Kuatan, So a Shokan ally (goro's brother) and her General (rain) accompany her into battle.

I hope Rain's a secret character, But not as a ninja. Like someone else said, As a general looking character wearing black and purple clothing and silver armor. But, With a "Keanu Reeves" look like he had in the cartoon.

Rain probably is in MKD. Look who we have so far: Ermac, Noob Saibot, and Smoke. Would it be so surprising to see Rain confirmed sometime tomorrow? I wouldn't be all that shocked, really. There is a huge fanbase for him(although I don't know why).

Although I despised Rain in the previous games(and I do mean DESPISE!), I have no problem seeing him return. I got my favorite character back. Who am I to say that someone else shouldn't? And who knows, maybe I'll like when he shows his face again. But from experience, that isn't all that likely. I hated Baraka, but I figured "hey, maybe next time I feel differently." To my own astonishment, I still can't stand that bastard.

I never realy liked Rain, i thought he was kinda bland no unique powers i mean he had all these lightning moves that just dont fit his look. But if they gave him his own moves and complete story makeover.... sure why not.

they should give him his own distinct look but still have a ninja look. ninjas r awesome.

I think that bringing Rain would really add to the game. It would only make sense as someone said earlier, he would add to Sindel's storyline. I always thought that Rain was somewhat of a loyal figure. I mean, he served Kahn because he thought it was his destiny, until he found out Kahn killed his dad, then he showed his honor to his father and home by turning on Kahn. Now he's back to become the general of Edenia like he should, and he is in MKD to protect the queen.

Great motive, but he could make an easy appearance in MK7 if like something happended to Sindel, like she disappeared or was kidnapped.

I just remembered that Rain and Kitana were childhood friends, And Kitana was captured. And now that Liu Kang is nothing more then a rotting corpse back for possibly one last game. Rain and Kitana could develop a spark... If there wasn't one there already.

Rain is awesome IMO. Just revamp his story, looks, and moves, and he'll be bad ass. I would love it if rain were to return in MKD.

LOL. That would be an awesome stroyline for Rain! He has so much potential for MKD and was actually a very original character. . . His projectile in MKT in which u could control your opponent was very useful. . . I think the MK team should give him at least one more chance. . .

Yeah, I wrote a story for Rain like that in the Character Speculation thread. I wouldn't mind seeing Rain back and I think he could develope as Kitana's new love interest. I just think they should drop the ninja thing. It makes no sense for him to be a ninja.
