Personally, I think this is a very good question.

For me, since I'm getting older.. I have to say that I've actually been pretty disappointed with the last two MK's - MK4 and MK:DA, and if this game fails to hold my interest I may no longer be as big of an MK fan as I once was or am right now.

In my opinion.. MK1 was awesome, MK2 was amazing, MK3 was ho-hum and kinda lost me with the run button and the huge variety and complexity of round finishers and everything, but then Ultimate MK3 brought me back. However, it was MK4's lack of appeal that completely lost me.

Then I thought MK:DA was going to be mega! I was extremelly excited about the new graphics, characters, and fighting styles.. but unfortunately it didn't keep me playing for long periods of time like the other Mortal Kombats. And the lack of secrets and finishers didn't help.

So if this new game fails, I actually have to say that I may give up on the series, simply because there's so many other great fighting games out there to choose from.

But if Mortal Kombat: Deception delivers and knocks me out, than it will restore all my faith in the series and I'll be excited again about the future of MK.

What about you people? How will you feel if the game disappoints you?

As MK3, MK4, and MK Advance have already proven, it takes more than a bad Mortal Kombat game to make me give up on the series. MK:D has the potential to rule and I think Boon and Co. will not disappoint.

If they do, however it won't effect my fandom in the least. I'll wait patiently for MKVII and in the meantime, I'll have MKII perfectly ported to the PS2 (crosses fingers).

I'm positive MK:Deception will be my favorite MK of them all.The mini games look awesome and the gameplay seems to be better then ever.I'm eager to perform stage fatalitys on my friendsgrin
I'm sure I'll be playing Konquest for a LONG time.Just the thought of being able to create my own character makes me want to buy the game instantly.I'm also looking forward to Puzzle Kombat. And I'm looking forward to the fatalitys most of all.I'm positive MK:Deception will be my favorite video game...ever.

Huh? What? A new Mortal Kombat game with a run button, stupid fatalities, dial-a-combos and missing fan favorite characters?

Huh? What? An home port of the game with more palette-swaps than you can shake a stick at?

Huh? What? A new Mortal Kombat game with that same stupid run button, a maximum damage cap, end boss automatically selectable, and no new interesting characters?

Huh? What? A frustratingly unplayable beat-em-up based on the MK series?

Huh? What? A handheld port of UMK3 with the worst gameplay ever?

Huh? What? A Metal-Gear-Solid style MK game featuring horrid glitches and awful control?

Huh? What? I bought them all?

Huh? What?

THERE's A NEW MK GAME COMING OUT IN OCTOBER?

As of now I don't think MK:D will disappoint at all. Were getting what we all want in this MK. MK:DA, IMO was a nice, fresh step and a new direction for the MK series. My only complaint in MK:D was that it took everything that has been in the past MK games..

1.Multiple Fatalies(except MK1) and Stage Fatalities

2.Although the Krypt was a nice idea, I thought that they were just too much "worthless" items. Could of gave us something like unlockable fatalties or even more characters.

3.And last, the Konquest Mode was decent for the most part but it was just a training ground that move from fighter to fighter and gave a good background story for each. The payoff was not worth it and we all know why.

So far MK:D has alot going for it. I can't see how this game can be a disappointment. Boon and company are going all out and I can honestly say this should be the best fighting games ever created. The only way this game can mess up is if they start to rush and I don't see that happening cause they have been working on this for some time now. If these features turn you off from MK then your just not "into" MK...........

1.CLASSIC FIGHTERS return: Baraka, Noob Saibot, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Nightwolf, Ermac, Millenia and even Lui Kang...(I was happy when he was killed off in MK:DA, but it should be interesting to see how he looks as a zombie and a ghost or what side he will be on)

2.ONLINE PLAY: Finally we can show off are goods and lay claim to who really is the best MK player. Hopefully, Midway will have an online tournament added to see really who is the best.

3.KONQUEST MODE: from what we know so far, every past MK fighter will be in here and the fact that your an "ordianry" new fighter it has alot of promise. The 2 new mini games look good as well.

4.MULTIPLE & STAGE FATALITIES: the fighting stage gets even bigger w/added stages that you can knock opp off and continue on a new floor. Each fighter w/at least 2 Fatalities and the Stage or "Death Traps" should be enough to satisfy the sick and twisted.

Serioulsy though, even though we have to wait till October, I can't see how this can fail at all. The only "MK" game that failed was MK:Special Forces.

Well, to be perfectly honest, I never bought MKA. I don't have a GBA. But I DL'ed the ROM, and deleted it after an hour with it.

Mythologies I had burned from a friend. But my Modded PSX died, so now I have to track down a real copy. And special Forces I bought 2 days ago, completed today, and will never touch again.

In retrospect, MK:DA is the one MK that didn't disappoint me at all/barely. Although I wanted more fatalities, only having one per character just made us wish for and imagine them so much more. I can deal with no stage fatalities - even to this day, people talk about the rumored 'acid bath' and 'drum arena' stage fatals. I come to the MK games for storyline, so Konquest was a godsend for me. If I have 3 gripes, it's that a)Blaze was a pale shadow of what he could have been, b) we were promised shredding clothes as well as faces, which we did not recieve, and c)Mokap. That's all.

That's amazing. I love the game, even though the hidden characters blew...

But MK:D...I honestly think everyone's going to walk away satisfied for this one. Characters people love, stage fatals, 2 fatals per character, Hara-Kiris, an involved storyline, 2 mini-games, a gigantic Konquest mode, online play, a rumor mill that's already going through the roof....we know only a small amount about the game, but it's already driving us bonkers...I CAN'T walk away from this one unhappy.

MK4 - MK:DA disappointed me, but there is enough backbone from the classic MK's to still keep me a fan.

To be quite honest,I am praying that this new title does something outstanding.I still play MK2 and MK3 on mame daily, but to have a new title that doesnt deliver again will crush my faith in the franchise.Alot of you will just be satisfied with a new MK title.I will be satisfied with a new MK title that can deliver the gameplay that has been years in the coming.Without solid gameplay, the fatalities etc will get old fast.

Even not being a VF 4, SC 2, DOA 3, etc, etc, etc clone, Mortal Komat was, is and will be a game that thrills me, can take musch fun playing it.
I don't care too much if the moves aren't that perfect (but i always want improvments on the gameplay). the Charisma, the cast, the atmosphere of the game are one of a kind. And that's none of VF 4, SC 2, etc will have to the extents of mortal kombat. Even how perfect they are and how imersive their gameplay is.

But as long MK exists i always be a MK gamer and follower.

Of course I will! I've been with MK since the beginning and been with it through its ups and downs and none of the downs have turned me away from the series as there was always a positive there keeping me in. I love MK, and regardless of how MKD is, I'm still going to love it. I've loved all the games, and MKD will be no exception regardless!

If in the very unlikely event that MKD turns out a big pile of crap, I'll stick with the series. I love MKDA and MK2, and most other MK games are at least pretty good. Even the greatest, whether in games, movies, whatever, are entitled to screw up now and again when everything else is good.

Let's hope that MKD is at least as good, since more casual fans not liking MKT/MK4 nearly killed the series once.

Yes, I will always be a huge fan of Mortal Kombat, because it's the original that does it for me, not these new ones. MK 1 & MK2 have something amazing about them!

I can't wait to MAT2!!!!!!

Yes I will remain a huge fan of MK regardless. If you are a huge fan of something you take that bad with the good. Now I'll admit there has been plenty of bad...But Seriously I can't see MKD dissapointing. What's funny to me is that there are so many people who are just right off the bat expecting MKD to fail, Come on people you haven't even played the game yet. If the MK team has heard us and implemented a lot of the stuff we said we wanted to see (more fatalties per character, stage kills, better extras etc.) Now if they heard these things, don't you think they heard the complaints as well? I don't think MKD is going to dissappoint at all, but as I've said, I will still be a huge fan of the franchise no matter what.
