What we should be focusing on is both companies' impacts on the gaming industry.

With that in mind, it is obvious that MK is way over DC. There aren't too many games that actually make history, you know. Plus, gamers are more likely to remember a game Scorpion or Sub-Zero has been in before remembering any game Batman or Superman has been in. When comes down to the gaming industry, DC ain't shit.

True. DC has had horrid games.
However more people will recognise Superman than Scorpion.
Video Games will never eclipse the popularity of comics characters.

agreed I wish all these features were here, but instead of DC chars be the new arrivals. How about Boon and company develop 8 new chars for MK. A fresh start like Boon originally said after MKA

I'm not happy with DC characters in this game.

Even if they WEREN'T in this game, I still probably wouldn't be happy. MK is in dire need of some major gameplay improvements and rennovations, and this game doesn't have them. It has the all-too-familiar gimmicks. Free-Fall Kombat and Klose Kombat are just more random and useless add-ons like Air kombat, Kreate-a-Fatality, and Impale moves that are introduced and never fleshed out or improved upon.

DCU characters are nothing more than flashy cosmetic coats of paint on a broken engine, hyping up the new game and making it seem "new" while ignoring the problems of the previous games. It's like a bandaid on a gaping wound.

I want a GOOD MK game, pure and simple, DC or not, and DC is just something they're using to get some cash. That said, Midway certainly needs the funds...

They aren't bad features just a bit too..gimmicky. MK needs solid gameplay, not gimmicks. I'm still a bit skeptical on the whole "rock paper scissors" mechanic for it.

BACK to the real question, Yes I would except all the new features of the game if the cast was all MK. But, as others said, DC made it better. Although I do admit that some of the DC characters do make the game look cheesy but some like Batman fit into it well.

I hope the next Mortal Kombat game will have alot of the features of MK vs. DC but with all MK people.

LOL. You can say that again. I just can't believe the people who think MK is so above DC. Like the DC people are thrilled that they are going to be marrying a franchise whose makers are known for half assing their games.

If the DC characters weren't in the game, there would be nothing to distract me from the incredibly disappointing lack of improvement from previous installments.

WRONG. Market people did! Midway then asked DC. MK lucky DC gave them the time of day let alone a potential MK VS DC franchise. Also, the series will split in two. If you're so against it then just freaking continue to play the solo MK games.

Though I really wanted a only mk game that would tell us the events after MKA and all that....I am very happy with MK vs DC, very happy indeed.

But yeah, I hope for a ONLY Mk game after this one.

Actually, if you take out the DC characters, the illusion is shattered and you can see what a gimmicky piece of shit it is. And yes, I will call it a piece of shit. I held back for Deception after Deadly Alliance and then for Armageddon, but not this time. It's the same shit in a different box, and no, I'm not buying it.

.... honestly, theres all this complaining about "new stuff", "same old shit in a different box", all that other shit, what do you expect? how different can fighting games get? what do YOU want MK to do, cause i guarantee you cant come up with anything better than Midway. Honestly, there isnt to much you can do with a fighting game that has been going on for more than 15 years. THEY'VE DONE ALMOST EVERYTHING THEY CAN DO! im extremely happy they've been able to add 3 new things, klose kombat, freefall kombat, and rage mode. Jesus, until you come up with something that will make the game better, SHUT YO FACE!
