We wouldn't have to hear about any of that "Magic" stuff from Ed Boon.

The characters would make much better fighters. Especially the gallery of rouge villains.

But no Robin, or Batgirl, lets keep this dark and gritty.

My roster for Batman side.

1. Batman
Special Moves
-Batarang
-Boomerang Batarang
-Smoke Bomb Teleport
-Grappling Gun (Attaches to opponent, pulls Batman in with a kick. Kinda like the opposite of Scorpions spear)
Fatality: Just beats the crap out of opponent, Batman style.

2. Nightwing
Special Moves
See Batman
Fatality: Also See Batman, but more acrobatic

3. Catwoman
Special Moves
-Face Scratch
-Whip Lash
-Stomp To Face
-Evasive Back Flip
-Cat Cartwheel (An offensive cartwheel attack)
Fatality: Face Scratch except more brutal and violent.

4. Joker
Special Moves
-Boxing Glove
-Playing Card
-Bomb
-Pistol Whip
-Jump Kick
-Rolling Punch (WIth The Feet!)
Fatlity: Gun, BANG!, Gun, Dead

5. Penguin
Special Moves
-Umbrella Shot Gun (A shooting attack, Boom)
-Umbrella Knife Throw (Like Sareena's knife throw)
-Umbrella Helicopter (Levitates into the air, like Ermac and Sindel)
-Slam (During Umbrella Hellicopter, he slams down into opponent)
-Air Gun (During Umbrella Helicopter, he shoots down at opponent)
Fatality: Holds umbrella up to chin, machine gun, dead

6. Poison Ivy
Special Moves
-Plants From The Ground (Kinda Like Scorpions Hellfire Raise, except it traps opponent shortly and does some small damage)
-Razor Leaves (Sends razor leaves at opponent)
Fatality: Last Kiss

7. The Riddler (Note: Fights with staff)
Special Moves
Exploding Jigsaw Puzzle Projectile (Like The Jokers card through)
Crossword Puzzle Net (Equivalent of Sub-Zero's freeze move)
Pop-Up Exploding JIgsaw Puzzle Projectile (Like Cyrax's bomb)
Question-Mark Teleport (Disappears in a question mark shadow)
Fatality: Something that will make opponent confused and then explode them

8. Mr. Freeze
Special Moves
Freeze Gun (Freezes Opponent)
Freeze Shards (Sends ice shards to opponent)
Ground Freeze (Stolen directly from Frost)
Fatality: Freezes opponent from feet up and then smashes with his gun.

9. Two Face
Special Moves
Machine Gun (Regular machine gun, stolen from Jax and Stryker)
Coin Taunt (Flips coin)
Fatality: You live, You die. They Die

10. Scarecrow
Special Moves
Skull Projectile (Kinda like Quan Chis)
Dream Stealer (Kinda like Shang Tsungs soul steal)
Fatality: Nightmare...End of story

Sub-Boss. Bane
Special Moves
Back Breaker (Self Explanatory)
Fatality: Something Brutal

Boss. Ra's Al Ghul
Special Moves
-Just some awesome ninja teleportations and tricks.

Just making the thread title clear, as just saying "If this was MK vs Batman..." doesn't explain the whole idea of your thread, which is that this kind of concept would be better than MKvDC, as opposed to being on par or worse. -Jerrod

I think that would be bad because, most of the characters you listed are villains and I'd only like to play as a few of them.
By having the whole dc universe there are way more choices for characters and characters that most people would like to play as.

No actually I don't. But that's exactly my point. There aren't many Heroes from the Batman comics that anyone cares about so, most of the Batman side is villains. However, I don't think many people like them enough to want to play as them in a fighter. I'm sorry but, I'd rather play as the majority of DC heroes than a bunch of Batman villains,

Secondly, some of those villains wouldn't make very good fighters. Like Poison ivy, Two-face, and Riddler.

I thought about this idea too, but it just wouldn't work. It'd be Batman vs Everybody. Plus, not much room for sequels to the game.
batman and all of his characters are MUCH BETTER than all the other DC characters EVER.

I think that is a lame roster.

I find the Batman rogue gallery much more interesting than the current roster of DCU. I would love to see Alfred, Poison Ivy, and the Riddler fight no matter what other people think of their fighting abilities.

You know....I loved the Dark Knight as much as everyone else.....but why the hell does everyone try to be the Joker? Its so sickening to see thousands of fucking posers out there who put on the stupid face paint like they're cool.

Its a fucking plague....

Heath Ledger was a genius, no doubt but I totally agree with you. Too many Joker wannabes I mean there's even one of them on this forum! Besides the Dark Knight Joker didn't look enough like the classic Joker.

The current Batgirl is a badass ninja that goes around breaking bones so yeah she'd fit nicely.


This idea is stupid anyway.

Vs DC allows them to explore other areas and characters outside of gotham and there are cooler places then gotham.

Also the hero villain ratio would have been unbalanced.

Business wise is also better for it to be the general DC since this way they attract all of the dc fanbases so more money all around.

Also alot of Batman's villains

I know I always struggle to remember what's happening in current issues of Detective Comics, let alone ancient history like 2003!

Batman's especially accessible to the uninitiated, so I suppose it's fair enough someone's going to want to shoehorn the familiar into a game like this. I just don't understand how so many people aren't more self-aware. Stop calling everything perfect!!!

MK/Batman, aside from being incredibly narrow sighted, would also suffer from the fact that the Batman villains are so memorable for their moments as characters. Cramming this cast into super-powered gimmickery might not be impossible, but as street level opponents, they are among the least qualified for this sub-genre of video games, and it completely robs many of them of what makes them so intriguing to begin with.

Presumably the recent popularity of The Dark Knight is feulling a sizable chunk of the Bat-support -- those who can pause long enough to reflect on the content moreso than the hype will appreciate the importance of characterization to the Batman universe at it's best.

I think most would agree the universal disappointment of MKvsDC is the limited number of characters on offer. With the full list I think the problem is clearly who was left out - not who was included!
By selecting who they have from the DCU they've catered to a lot of considerations relatively well. They've represented the super powers, the concepts, and characters with a cross-section of styles and relevance. Players, wittingly or not, will be better for it.
Certainly the brightest of the characters, who are already on good terms with punching and kicking, are the least affected by the fighting genre they keep getting thrust into.

The upcoming Arkham Asylum game - already being anticipated as the best Batman game ever - is a prime example of how the Bat-characters are better used, including them in a strong narrative that makes use of characterization as much as arbitrary powers.
I don't know about "perfect," but it's getting there!

Lol oh thats funny lmao! but getting to the topic I dont really know if I would want just batman characters I mean sure his got alot of kick ass villians but I would rather go with the characters they put into the game anyway.
