Great info, MK:D is starting to sound better and better. But still no confirmation on the last returning MK:DA character. *sigh* Is Raiden returning or not?

Even though we already knew most of this I'm glad most seems official now. Best part was having Smoke back. I've been waiting since Trilogy to have him back in a new MK. Can't wait to see his new look and his story. And although Ben might be a good character that's a lame ass MK name. I mean where's Jim and Bob to go with Ben. And Liu as a ghost a zombie sounds lame too. Unlike a lot of people I never really had a problem with Liu other than the fact it made it obvious who was going to win all time. But coming back in two forms? WTF? I'm interested to see how they explain that shit.

How about:

He's been a character relatively unchanged at all in moves and look (and sound...) for about 4 games straight in the series.

He'd been the only 'champion' of many of the MK games...gets a bit old after awhile doesn't it? Why not surprise fans and have the most loved character overall (I would wager that'd be Scorpion) win out and tailor the end story around him for the next game?

To take the risk and kill off a major character and then bring them back in the next game like nothing ever happened is just....meh.

I think for the majority of people, myself included, this is why people have gripes about his returning so soon.

Maybe this will be a turning point though for that.

She's a bigtime Raiden fan though, and since he hasn't been announced yet she likely is perturbed at that, plus knowing chicken man in red tights (that are likely rotting off his body by now, hehe) is returning in any form.

I just really hope he plays radically different since he is returning than he did before and looks neat in his Zombie form...maybe he'll be in a Dragon King's army Undead Warrior outfit as in MKA. Kinda resembling Yoshimitsu in a way?
Maybe the spirit thing is a special move set for him in Zombie form? I dunno.

Hey, at least one good thing about Liu Kang's return, we all get to kill and dismember him....again!

I still think Karasu from the Grid would have been a better replacement, a "bad" Good guy/Vigilante type. Then again I've always favoured the Ninja-type characters in MK.

The rest of the news is great stuff though, the "combo breaker" type stuff albeit a bit like Killer Instinct, is needed for those who rely soley on link combos to win.

I liked Tanya from MK4 save for her screeches and her flip kick that was just a bit too much like Kim Wu's from KI2.

She has a lot of potential.

Sareena would have been neat though as a playable...could still be, even.

Kabal I hope will have a maskless Scorched face look, that'd be neat and then we wouldn't need the 'Tusken Raider' comparisons anymore. hehe


I hope with the online portion they deal with people who disconnect when losing/about to lose by giving the win to the player who stays...maybe they could have a ranking system where one type of rank kept track of was a "Hall of Dishonour" for people who do that crap.
Then players could see who was doing it repeatedly and avoid wasting time having matches with them.

Usermade Clans for online play with Konquest made characters would be neat too, people could set their clan against others in tournies online and have that kept track of, whose Clan has a higher rating than others in the online Mk world.

Set it so the people who make the clans have to definitely accept someone into it before they can join up.

That'd be cool stuff.

Hell, that way the MK Team themselves could have their own little Clan to play randomly online against fans!

But it might end up too much to manage at this point and with Gamespy I dunno how they'd do it unless it was a Midway tracked and tallied sort of thing.

The Game looks to be shaping up great so far though, and I'll hold any further judgement on Liu till I see the game myself.

I coulda tinkered with the game then along with the rest of staff that are going and seen what it was like early.

Oh, and if anyone on the team is reading this at all, if you include Sonya in MK:D, you gotta give her an unlockable Yellow with black stripes costume that pays tribute to Kill Bill (and Bruce Lee too). Hell, give her a Katana to use while in that costume!

I just got it in the mail. It has a picture of nightwolf with 2 tomahawks fighting baraka. So Nightwolf's weapons are 2 tomahawks.
