I don't believe they said that. I remember hearing that returning classic character would retain all there previous moves, and then get some new ones as well. I honestly don't care about how he looks, Kabal is perfectly fine the way he is they shouldn't change him at all.

I beat 100/1 that Kabal's alternate will be him without his mask, just like Scorpion's, Cyrax's, and Drahmin's Alternates where in MK:DA !
