Timeline:
-Sub-Zero buries Frost in the catacombs and discovers his origins. He finds the cryomancer armor, and dons it (it could be damaged, but if it is burned, than it is Hotarus work most probably)
-He finds Kenshi and heals him back to be fighting capable. it is irrelevant that Sub-Zero fought Hotaru before, but if Kenshi discovers the burned damage, than most probably Hotaru attacked while Sub-Zero was healing him. He could have continued the process afterwards he and the injured swordsman driven off the Seidan guard.
-They battle it out whith the tarkatans, and this is where the armor speaks to him. I wonder: if the armor is the DK armor, why would it aID Sub-Zero? Clearly the armor has an intelect of some level, and if it can distuingoush battle in the reality, than it has a mind able to recognize his owner?
(contradiction 1: maybe it is ONLY specialized on combat and don't gives a damn about who wears him, contradiction2: Sub-Zero has dragon blood. I dunno from where I heard this theory, but some speculate that both Sub-Zero and Liu Kang have dragon blood powers. personaslly think that this is just a fanfic)
-Sub-Zero lends his power to Shujinko after the battles and in the climax, the elderly master defeats the monster single handedly. (Scorpion could have battled Onaga afterwards. Shujinko's ending doesn't states that he actually killed the DK)

Who is ot say that sub and noob have no beef?? The very fact that both of them walked down the same initial paths only to diverge in the greatest sense of the word is reason enough for conflict. Sub zero prob does not know about noob but will find oput soon enough... As of now sub zero only knows that his brother is dead. Noob and sub zero have never met. When sub went to mk2, he did it to find his older brother and refused to believe him dead, until scorpion forced it down his throat. from the comics and stuff you would be led to believe that sub zero had a huge amount of respect for his brother and the very fact that he has turned evil should spur sub zero on to some action. Noob will be acting out of pure malice. He would prob be jealous of his brother's kori powers and thus would be planning against him. DO not forget that this is a dude who is so evil that he does not want to leave the netherrealm at all... Noob will prob die or reform in the end, cos I think sub's story has been a bit jaded recently, due to midway winding him up like a spring. When the full story is relesed, sub will prob be embroiled in his most personal battle thus far. It is my opinion that frost returns to play a role, Either surviving the deep freeze or possibly as a shade. Sareena will return and it will be interesteing to see the dynamics between her and noob, seeing that there were many hints about their feelings towards each other. Expect quanchi, ashrah and scorpion to be there too. And do not forget that noob's story is a sorry one as well... He accomplished one of the greatest deeds of any mortal thus far in mythologies, killing scorpion( though in self defence), defeating all the martial monks and the four elemental guardians, including fujin, descending to the underworld where he defeated sareena and her two sisters, faced off with shinnok and came out on top and was hailed as one of the greatest warriors ever by raiden. The very conversation resonates of glory and tragedy. When subzero asked raiden if the reason why he was chosen and was able to descend to the netherrealm as due to the fact that he already had the seeds of evil within him, and raiden simply circumvented by stating that sub was one of the greatest warriors around, but could endure a fate worse than death should he fall in combat. It is not really noob's fault that he is where he is, and that is why i fele that we will see noob grow infinitely more powerful, with new tricks and all, but in the end will be plagued by conscience, just as when he turned his back to scorpion and got killed, and will prob be killed or defeated by his brother...
Now as for shujinko, i cannot really see a place for him in the Mk mythos... At least liukang was the courageous underdog. Shujinko has a ridiculous power and does not have the backstory or character to lead the good guys...

I do not think Sub-Zero will die because in Ashrah's ending she defeats Noob and is sent out of the Netherealm,but her sword stays there.In Konquest you find Ashrah in Edenia and she wants you to go to the Netherealm to find her sword.So i guess Sub-Zero doesn't die but i think Hotaru will die.

mindripper, where did you get the idea that Sub-Zero entered the tournament not believing that his brother is dead? Is that from the MK2 comic or something? The reason why I ask is because Sub-Zero was sent by the Lin Kuei to complete the task that his brother failed accomplish which was to assassinate Shang Tsung. I do agree with you about Sub-Zero having a lot of respect for his brother. It can also be shown in MK4 when Sub-Zero dons a costume that was very similar to the one his older brother wore to honor him.
I hope that there will be more on this Sub/Noob thing and I'm sure it'll show how deep Sub-Zero's storyline really is.

yup, but I think that in an assassin guild training is pretty much centered on loosing emotions or at least canceling them. Don't you think that the younger Sub-Zero has put aside the grieve for his brother? He has to be effective, so he doesn't have much time to be sad-if he can be.

I guess unlike most other Lin Kuei warriors, Sub-Zero still retains some good qualities.
