Is the backstory really so important to everyone?!?!

Soul Caliber, Tekken, Street Fighter, Virtua Fighter, etc r all great games, but NONE of them have the impact of a great storyline like MK does. I love fighting games, but MK has and prably always will have the best and most involved storylines, IMO.
Well IMO gameplay, blood and finishing moves are the meat, lettuce and tomato and the story line is like the bread. So no good sandwich has no bread (well atleast the ones I had).
In other words the story line complete MK like a sandwich.
mmm.... sandwich. Sorry I'm a little hungry
Why would you even ask this question?
If there was no story there would not be any sequals!
There would be no purpose for anyone to be fighting, Mortal Kombat would basicly be people just running around beating each other around and then killing each other.
My my my my..... you remind me of Jessica Simpson when she asked if tuna fish was chicken..
No outworld, no Edenia.. No tournament no Champion of Mortal Kombat no pusrpose of fighting!?... ARGGHHH This thread is making me mad...

| superkungfukid Wrote: I mean don't get me wrong, I like character development but this is a martial arts fighting game and all I see are people posting a lot of nonsense about inane storylines. Hardly anyone is talking about the game itself. Does anyone actually care how Mokap fathered Blaze's children if the actual game we are given is not up to snuff? You can't just call it Mortal Kombat, throw in a bunch of ludicrous fatalities and blood, a couple of ninjas and scantily clad babes and expect it to ride soley on those things. Deadly Alliance was enjoyable but did not quite meet the standards of a modern top tier fighter. The production was overall quite good, but the meat of the game was a little slim. I look forward to a top quality product with Deception, as there has always been a place in my heart for Mortal Kombat, despite such lackluster offerings as MK4. I know that the father of modern fighting games is poised to reclaim a place at the top of the fighting game genre, along with other quality fighters like VF4, Soul Calibur 2 and DOA3; I just hope Boon's team made more improvements to the core fighting system over silly things like more blood or over the top fatalities that aren't really that good (you know what I mean Quan Chi). |
BEHOLD!!! THE n00b SPEAKITH!
