In a Mortal Kombat game? Yes. Absolutely. Blows MKII right out of the water (which I considered number 1 until now, balancing good players with crappy players).

Good Blend of Characters. But there are a few that i would replace. For example...iam not really fond of this new Noob-Smoke dude. I would have prefered it as both being individual characters.

I don't know. Happy to see some...don't give a rat's ass about others. Guess I'll have to wait and see what the super unlockables are before I make a real judgement.

Personally, I don't like really this roster... There is a lot of characters that I don't like (Kabal, Nightwolf, Noob Saibot, Smoke, Ermac, Tanya...) I preferred the one of MKDA...

without Cyrax, this game doesnt mix as much originality as you say...Cyrax was the only representative of new characters from MK3...which basically shows he was the only one they really kept working with...nobody said adding other 'new' MK3 characters is bad (Kabal...), but how can you not keep the one leading guy from that game? and this ninja obssession is becoming a problem and is already a problem for people who are obssessed...

and I admittably will be biased towards Cyrax simply because he is my favorite character, im tired of them either making him 'lost' in a game or whatever...he didnt die on any ending from MKDA so why is he not on this game? People think his moves sucked, I admit I miss the net, but if you know how to play with him, hes pretty good...im very good with him...

I personally think Deception's game is moronic so far, and for the first time, a MK game isn't on the top of my 'must buy' list...and most of it is simply the lack of logic in selecting which characters get on the game...

Jax and Kenshi but no Sonya or Cyrax? Sonya n Cyrax were the two main guys from the whatever it is agency...no logic in my mind...although I do think some of the ideas for the game are somewhat childish...I will say that with the addition of Cyrax (Superunlockable or not), I will actually shutup about the game not being a particular favorite of mine...

Slica - if people can be obssessed with the overload of ninjas, then I should be allowed to obssess over Cyrax...I've seen in many threads people whining over people who weren't happy with the characters...but we got a right to be if we're not that 'ninja obssessed' fan that most people on here is...(outside the original three [reptile, sub zero, scorpion] is overdoing it IMO, plus the only guy I thought was very useful of the newer ones was Rain...who oddly did not make the cut as far as we know)

For MK? Probably. I mean if you look at it as far as history, bridging story gaps and moving forward goes; it's fantastic. I'm very pleased, actually.

I like it, but I, like Maxi above me, don't care much for the MK3-4 returning roster.

HOWEVER, I do like the fact that several of these characters have changed considerably. Tanya & Jade: the judgment is still out on them, but overall, the guys do look improved over their FMV counterparts.

Kabal doesn't look like a Mad Max/Thunderdome ripoff holding ice skates as much as he did.

Nightwolf doesn't look like he's a Village Person anymore.

Sindel still looks all Rocky Horror Picture Show, but Kobra is not quite as Flaming as Van Damme... er, I mean Cage was.

Mileena looks better (and Li Mei is distinguished - though rather too similar for both to take up two slots) & I like that all the clone-jas have been given variances on their costumes - Ermac, Sub-Zero, et al. It shows how much Tobias was stifling character design.

Though many of the "new" fighters look to be a swap out of the old ones, at least in hommage,

Dairou - Kung Lao
Kobra - Cage / Sonya
Ashrah - Raiden / Fujin
I think this works in the game's favor. The replaced characters were quite stale and these characters have much more apparent usefulness than Nitara, Mavado, Frost & Hsu Hao, which were all rather flat designs. We'll see if Ashrah really is different from Raiden, when he's unlocked, but for now, I give the roster a 8/10.

Ermac - Kenshi
Mileena - Li Mei are too similar.

When they have Kobra, Cage & Sonya in a future game together, it will further convince me that some of the newer designs aren't that new & be a wasted slot.

Jax was way more important to that agency than Cyrax, though I will give it to you that Cyrax was way better than Jax.

On topic, I think this is the best cast as well. I think MK2 and then MK4 had the best casts, but with the exceptions of Kung Lao and Kitana I can't think of anyone else I'd want in a game. I got lots of characters I thought were gone for good who I loved (Jade, Tanya, Mileena) and I'm sure Kung Lao and Kitana won't be gone for too long, so yes, this is the best cast of all MK history.

Is Jax still in? Because I've been hearing lately that all the confirmations of Jax have been proven to really be Darrius.

If Sareena, Kitana, Sektor, and Quan Chi are among the super unlockables, then I'll consider this the best roster so far.

MKDA had the best roster...

Quan Chi, Shang Tsung, Kung Lao, Cage, Sonya, Kitana are not in MKD and characters like Nightwolf, Sindel and Ermac doesn't replace them IMO

MIDWAY should have put in a fan favorite like Rain, Kintoro or shoa Khan( i really don't care for them but these are fan favorites) or a whole NEW character!!!

it has baraka in it .. baraka is 3d .. its the best rooster....

i think it is an excellent roster. i love everyone in it so far except for fat ass bo rai cho but im willing to give him a second chance at that. im happy about not having any dumb cyborgs in it. i aways hated that.

of course you should give bo ria cho a second chance .. this time he is useing sumo ! hahahahahahahah

I never liked Cage Sonya Jax and Cyrax. But i didn't mind if one of them were in the game.

I Liked to have Sektor (1 cyber ninja) Kung Lao, Kitana Fujin and Rain also

But i think the overall is great.

P.S.: They could have an option to play noob and smoke as two separate characters.

Not the best, not the worst. Missing a few of my faves, though.

how can I not love this roster?

kabal, sindel, jade, ermac, noob saibot, smoke, mileena and baraka return

scorpion, sub zero and raiden are badass

then the coolest new guy from mkda - kenshi

they did a really good refreshment job on nightwolf, tanya and li mei design imo

and new cool people like hotaru, havik, dairou, kobra, kira and ashrah

imo the only swaps I'd made are

liu kang - kung lao
darrius - rain
bo rai cho - sektor

perfect

I wouldn't say it's perfect, but it's pretty close. It does have almost all of my favorite characters in it, save for one (Frost), so it does come REEEEAALLLY close.

if they put sektor in! then it would be the best EVA!
