it wouldnt work on a technical level - all the characters need to be around the same size for the fatalities to work properly - thats why they all look the same hieght in DA even when their bios say they are all different heights.

What I'm saying is that it would help if there was more than one person working on the main sotryline and actually having some input. I understand that nobody can replace Boon, but I think that he needs to be filtered a little bit, jut the 'too over the roof' ideas. But yeah, I think that this particular MK will be an inprovement from its predecessor. But no matter how much time passes, I still think that turning Subby into an old guy was a bad idea.

I don't think Tobias would have honestly done any more palette swaps. I admit I hated them too, but given the system limitations nowadays, Tobias or not, i think palette swaps are all a thing of the past.

I sort of disagree. Since Tobias' role in the game didn't really have anything to do with how the game actually played (correct me if I'm wrong on that), MK would've taken the turn that it did with or without him. I think alot of times with Tobias gone people criticize him for the things that were out of his control and don't give him credit for the things that they should. Sure, the palette swaps sucked, but they only were trying to give us more characters when the system memory wouldn't allow for it, so they palette swapped. And besides, are the pallette swap ninja's, robots, and ladies not all very popular characters? Isn't Rain arguably the straw that broke that camel's back? And aren't people screaming for his return? And sure, we can say that he did do some shitty designs like Stryker and all that, but are we just going to ignore that he created ALOT of great, memorable ones. Let's see, for every Rain, Stryker, and Kai in the bunch we got Kano, Sub Zero, Scorpion, Rayden, Shang Tsung, Goro, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Baraka, Shao kahn, Sektor, Cyrax, Kabal, Fujin, etc... Now look at the ones created after he stopped designing for them: Bo, Li Mei, Nitara, Hsu Hao, Drahmin...
Bring back John Tobias any day of the week. And as far as critizing him for the story plot, I'd say it's very arguable whether Vogal's are any better. Vogal's have taken a much sharper turn, and I do think that his stories are great, but that shouldn't take away from the fact that the first 3 stories were very good as well, plot holes included or put aside. I'm not really sure how deep his involvement went in MK4, but either way that game had a good cast of characters, and MKGold basically made it a perfect one. The story wasn't one to stand out amongst the rest, but it certainly wasn't that bad either. And the new characters, designed by Tobias I'm not quite sure, were not as bad as what we got afterwards. most weren't as good as what we had before, but I don't remember feeling wholly disappointed by them the way I've felt since.

Actually, last night I saw the Icons show on G4, and it said MK:SF was a Tobias only project. Boon was not involved on that or MK:M.

John Tobias WAS part of MK Special Forces. It's HIS fault the game sucked. He just decided to walk out mid-game and leave, which is a huge slap to the face of Midway. Thank god Tobias is doing horrible with Studio Gigante. Tao Feng was a piece of crap, and now that they have hold of the WWE XBOX license, they're gonna screw that up also.

Plus, Tobias wasn't THAT great anyways. He's the reason for "Team Rainbow Ninjas", and he completely screwed up the storylines repeatedly.(Reiko = Shao Kahn thing, Reiko IS Shao Kahn btw, despite what Boon said)

well, sub zero 13, you have your opinion, and I respect it but I think that you're the only thinking that...my opinion is that MK is alot better now after MK4, fuck that mk special forces shit, I'm talking about the real MK.
The character designs have evolved SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much in the last 2 games, we hardly see ninjas now, or at least, they're all different and super cool...

we have cool new characters like kenshi, hotaru, dairou, havik, ashrah, kira, etc

characters that were hated by most like nightwolf and tanya return and guess what? everyone loves them now
