Cant help ya there..I could live without liu kang..but i like rayden..and if ya think about ..isnt every fighter in MK dead..cuz at one point or another theyve had a fatality done to them ...so wouldnt that declare them dead...Just a thought

Mortal Kombat is a fantasy game. Its mythology includes Heaven, Hell, and the idea of life after death.
It's been this way since the very beginning of the franchise. You have Scorpion who is the spectre of a dead man.
I think the stories about reincarnations are legit. Raiden restored Cage's life. It sounds believable to me, because Raiden is a god and he has the power to do it.
We don't know how Liu Kang returns, his story may be interesting enough to justify him coming back from the dead.
And don't forget that most of the characters die in their respective endings. The endings are "what if" scenarios, ergo many of them are untrue. A typical example is Baraka's demise from MK Gold. He didn't win, so his ending didn't happen, so he never died.
