Lets Explore: The Powerful Secret behind the Death and Resurrection of Johnny Cage
I think we all agree the team should Explore Johnnys Life Deeper.
As a character, Johnny Cage has lots of potential; sadly, the only thing wrong about him is his repetitive "movie" story.
I was thinking, the whole deal with his death and resurrection could actually make a PERFECT twist in his story. Cage could actually hold a secret, a key everyone ignores, including himself, some sort of force or information powerful enough to use against the Great Dragon King in final battle.
There were 3 ideas created by fans I really liked:
1- Blank/White eyes (by grizzle): He mentioned this idea, saying it was the cause of death that made this happen. Thats why he always uses his sunglasses ever since.
2- A Character from the Death that haunts those who cheated death, and refuse to die (by DanDAbRit)
3- Having visions (by Brendan)
Cage could learn he keeps a secret, something he ignores that involve his death and resurrection. He must explore, discover and reveal this information before its too late.
He will return looking more like a mystic character; for now his entirely white eyes are revealed, his outfits will be very different, and new magical special abilities will be discovered. Other then that, he still looks the same, physically (and of course, he will still have the sunglasses for an alt costume).
But like I said, his costumes will be very different, more simple, but mysterious at the same time.
He could begin having strange visions that are clues, leading him to discover the secret he hides.
Of course, at first, he does not know what all this is about, but on the way, he will
learn that the visions are not only leading him to find answers about his life and the key secret, but also, they will somehow manage to let him known an unknown spiritual force haunts him with no rest, a force controlled by the Great King himself, a force that wants him dead before the secret is revealed.

You are so right. That hollywood guy thing is old and I think this quest for who he is. The story telling in MK6 needs to be better than MKDA.

Jhonny decides to train with the Shaolin monks.... then he has visions of the Dragon king approaching, and he JUMPS into battle.
then he ses sonya beaten by the DK and this gives him the strenght to beat the DK...
I really liked it, his training could enhance his powers or give him a couple of new ones...

i know everyone is pretty sick of the movie storyline for johnny cage but i think that the developers of the game are actually afraid to change that. they might think of an idea that is too outrageous for johnny cage to get and recieve a lot of bashing from the fans. i think this is the reason why they kept his movie storyline so far.
well, i like the ideas above, and i think they should try to get ideas from what the fans would like (perhaps not exactly) so that it wont be such a big risk to change his storyline...

The "secret" behind the death and resurrection of Johnny Cage, it is that the MKTeam fired Daniel Penisa () to do an announcement dressed just as Johnny Cage. For the MK4, this problem already it was solved, and for that reason they revived to Johnny Cage, but I do not believe that they had predicted kill Cage in the MK3.
At last, in the MKDA, the history of Johnny Cage seems as if never it had died really, only in the argument of its films, thus to give more credibility to than those that die, do not revive.

I agree with this. What you said is good, but maybe he should've started noticing things at little bit earlier.

WOW, great idea... I've never was able to put my finger on how to get Cage's storyline going but you nailed it in the balls like his split punch, really great ideas, I was the one that stated Johhny Cage never revealed his eyes after he died, and that mysterious pale white eyes thing is really good.
This could change everyones perspective on his character and which would make him just as mysterious as Scorpion. I don't think it is too late for Cage's story to change, I like the idea that he gets those visions and that causes him to stop the whole acting thing and concentrate on a much more bigger situation such as the Dragon King, his whole attitude would change and a new aura could be placed around this character.
And as I said before, I don't think Cage is afraid of anything anymore, he already knows what death is like and he has another change on earth. If i had died and come back I would use that knowledge to my advantage also.

It is NEVER too late. Never say never...It would make an excellent twist for his character, and maybe others.

I agree! What he needs is a story change, he is simply an awesome fighter! Great special moves! Awesome fatalities! Powerful styles, original look...but the story needs to be changed!

Queve, I love the idea! Cage with a hidden power that has the potential to save Earth and destroy the Dragon King is a brilliant idea. Although, maybe the Dragon King would be able to use this power and Cage now becomes an important pawn in the fight for good and evil. If the DK gets hold of him, he could be able to tap into Cages hidden power and use it for himself.
Or, only Cage can potentially wield this power, so the DK has to turn Cage and make him evil. Or somehow manipulate him into using it for an evil purpose. Maybe through doing somehow as trivial as being selfish - to ressurect Sonya if she died for his own happiness or something. Of course, that would mean his power is so great, he can give life.
As for this power and his death, maybe he was meant to die. There could have been some sort of prophecy to bestow an ancient power upon a warrior of Earth realm but to do so, s/he would have to die. They would have to be the first of a new genration of fighters to die and each generation this power ahs been past on. And now it has been given to Cage and he now, unlike the others, has the ability and potential to unlock it's secrets.

Great idea, have you ever seen the movie, Underworld, the human who was turned into both a vampire and werewolf, there was a whole profecy that the main badguy wanted to stop..
It could be something like that, and Johnny Cage is caught right in the middle, he won't relize what power he has, all the pain he suffers and headaches will be a sign for him, and at the end of his storyline he could take out the Dragon King with his power, or strip the Dragon King down into being weaker so that another mortal may fight him.

Well queve, I really like your idea and I wished that Johnny Cage's storyline could be as interesting as that. However, I do agree with mister_satan666 when he said that the change in Johnny Cage's storyline should have been gradual. Pretty much the same thing can be said with Jax. There wasn't really much of a storyline evolution for him as well. I really don't know if either of them should be in MK6, especially since it seems like MK6 will probably be something very big in terms of storyline and such. I guess we'll just have to see what happens when MK6 is released.

That is 100% not possible. Where did you heard this? How can people actually say Noob is Cage for the eyes when Cage with white eyes has never been revealed?

Yes, that is definitely false information.
Actually the debate on Johnny Cage being Noob Saibot is nothing new. A lot of people thought that it could be him because Noob Saibot belongs to "the order of the shadow" or something like that. And Johnny Cage has the shadow kick. A lot of people for along time though he could either be Noob Saibot or belong to his clan, but I'm pretty sure midway or someone with connections disproved this quite a while ago.

I apologize for saying that info was fake. I mean, it is fake but it was actually a rumor I had never heard about. But its clear Noob and Cage are 2 different characters UNLESS he can actually change into someone else for some reason (anger, possession )
