I agree with ya... partially. In my opinion, they shouldn't make a character wearing virtually nothing unless it fits her persona. Mileena would be a good example. She's the true incarnation of evil: horrible and ugly, yet tempting and attractive. It's perfect if you ask me.

But the creators shouldn't be so gratuitous about it. They're figures are obviously exagerrated, and they're very blatant about the partial nudity. It would be nice if they were a little more suttle about it all.

But really, I really don't mind most of the time, as long as the costume fits the character. Li Mei was a slave, so it would make sense for her to be wearing a form of scantly bondage.

BTW, I thought Li Mei was an awesome character.

And to rebutt some common misconceptions of Li Mei:

1. "She can't come back! She died in her own ending!" - Must I remind you guys that endings mean absolutely nothing? They're a "if this character won, this would happen..." kind of thing. Obviously, Li Mei is not going to defeat the Deadly Alliance, nor win the tournament for them (if she wins, then all the heros are dead. If she loses, Earth is toast). I again remind you in MK4, basically every character was killed off! But they all came back.

2. "She's just a Mileena rip off!" - Why? She has sais and wears pink? Not a very strong case there. Their backgrounds, looks, and moves are completely different.

3. "She's just a filler!" - On the contrary, she was either the first or second female character put in, I believe. She was seen in full at E3.

4. "She has no storyline!" - If Li Mei and her people weren't in the story, then Quan Chi's fortress just fell from the sky one day? Hmm, then we'd be hearing even more complaining.

Li Mei and some of the oldies are back. It doesn't get much better then this.

Now give me Nitara and Fujin and we're all set...

You are right on every count except for the tournament. The tournament that Li Mei participated in was different in her stroy line. It was put in place by Quan Chi and Shang Tsung to find decent warrior souls to use for the DK army. It really had nothing to do with the Earth warriors VS the Deadly Alliance. And if u dont think i am correct, check out the Kombat Pavillion storyline FAQ.......
