I think Lui would be an awesome addition to MK:D. I would just hope he is a villain though. So we can have new heros.

He could be "AWESOME", but most likely not. The thing I do like about him in the older games is that he makes all the other characters all the more likable. It's great to know that he's the main character because well...he's boring, but he sure makes the other characters stand out!!

they should of left lui kang out of this game 2 and then brought him back...u know make us think he was really gone and then bam hes back in the 7th game

He could be awesome. It all depends on you, really. To be honest, I never had anything against him. I thought he was alright.

what makes a character awesome, and what makes a character bad is IMO stupid. I could say "Smoke will ruin the game guarenteed.", and I'm sure I would get flamed. The thing is, some people might like Liu Kang, and quite frankly Midway obviously does, as they wouldn't bring him back if they didn't have a good storyline for him. There weren't too many letters complaining about his death either, so this is a fan-forced thing.

He should have been left for dead, for a while longer at least. Having him back so soon takes the impact of his death away, and unlike people like Johnny Cage or Mileena, many fans were happy to see the back of Mr goody goody cheap bastard.

I want him back, if the news is true then i'm very happy.

First, let me get things straight. I have nothing against Liu Kang. I even used him heavily in MK2 and MK3. His turkey noises were slightly aggravating, but other than that, he was a fun character. It did start to grate on my nerves after a while that he won every single tournament, but I didn't actively dislike him.

My problem with his return is that it's cowardly storytelling. Killing off a main character with a large fan following took guts on Boon's part. Not only that, but it furthered the story and allowed other good guy characters like Sub-Zero and Kung Lao (a character I hated until MKDA, when he became my favorite) to really step up and get some spot light. For the first time, it was in doubt who won.

So then they bring Liu back. Why kill him in the first place then? Wouldn't it just have been easier to have him unavoidably detained if they didn't want him in last game? The problem is, if any character who buys the farm can just come back in a game or two, what does death mean, in a game THAT'S SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT DEATH? The answer? Not a whole heck of a lot. That's my main problem with Liu Kang's return.

My second problem with it is that Johnny Cage was a cool character until they killed him at the beginning of MK3. His return felt forced and he lost most of his sparkle after that. He became a lame character. Liu will be the same, zombie or ghost or whatever. His return will feel forced and he'll be forever lame, like Cage.

Liu coming back is lame, cowardly storytelling. If they're going to kill someone, leave them dead, for Christ's sake. If they're going to want them in the game again down the road, then don't kill them. Why is that such a hard concept for Boon?

yea but liu kang isnt going to come back in his original body form, his soul has entered the body of kano after they killed shang tsung. is liu kang/kano going to have a double personality? kinda like a ying & yang? or will he be all good or evil? for that i guess, we gotta wait and see what happens

Boon and co. write the storys. We obviously like them enough that we are all here on this board excited for the next game. So if anyone thinks liu kang is going to "kill" the game, then dont buy it. Everyone has their opinions of course, but I dont think anyone can say that boon and co. dont know what their doing or they are stupid. They made the games what they are today.
Personally im glad he's back. Having Liu Kang out of the picture was like having DBZ with no goku, or Street fighter with no ryu. And the fact that he is back as a ghost/zombie, atleast makes his story fun again. Atleast its not just "Oh look liu is back and everything is fine". Lets just pray he is evil. I have wanted a "Dark Liu" for a long time.

Liu Kangs spirit defeats the Dragon King and all seems well. However the DECEPTION is that Liu's spirit is controlled by Shang and now he has control.

I think it kicks ass too have Liu back he's one of my all time favorits Is that Liu Kang in the new clip ?

I don't like the fact that Liu Kang is back but if he's going to return, especially as some kind of ghost or zombie, he should be evil and this time, he should have a very interesting storyline.

I'd like to see him use Jeet Kune Do since he is based off of Bruce Lee. As for his other style, he should have Wushu. His weapon should be Nunchaku.

remeber when everybody was saying that KUNG LAO, was gonna kill MKDA, everybody hated him, he was one of the only 3 i hated in mk, stryker, jax, and kung lao.

and NOW look at KUNG LAO he is alomost everybodys fav. fighter, and also everybody even said they hated him until MKDA. this is new gameplay guys remeber, i want to see his fighting styles give him a chance, i hated sonya, shang tsung, kung lao, and quan chi, and they are the damn best in MKDA.

kung lao was a gay ass monk, and liu kang is supposly suppost to be better in this game than kung lao was in MKDA.

boom, there u have it, if he is better than kung lao from MKDA, then we have ourselfs one badass fighter who will take things more seriously after his death, and will be more serious. i like his turkey noises though when i bicycle kicked my way to victory.

the reason why he dyed in MKDA is for 2 reasons,

1) khan is kang dyed the 2 strongest ppl, for one reason, to promote the DA and make them look strong thats all. like wrestling u have a rookie beat a legend so he can look good for the future.

if the DA didnt kill them then wat would the alliance be good for? it was to promote them get over it.

2) he only has one costume every damn game, Cage too, but he is a movie star so a tuxedo would be an easy outfit. but kang wat would his alternate be? he has to have one?
well now he has a ghost outfit and a zombie outfit.

BOON is smart, and u will love kang i guarteed he will ruin the game cause u will only pick him cause he is so good

omg..comin back as a ghost/zombie??!... wtf now the story is just getin stupid...he should just come back in his normal form... lui kang is the sh*t!!...if u dont agree wit me then get over it... he was one of my fav fighters in mk n mk2 mostly mk2...where i use to bicycle kick everyone as a surprise attack... the mk3/T version of lui kang were gay though... i'll agree wit that but in mk2 he was the sh*t!!!!! im glad he is back

If he comes back whatever but if he wins im gonna be pissed...unless the bad guys use him to win for them then kill him off for good. Thats the only situation i wouldnt mind lui winning

This is going to be great. Instead of a normal fighter, a human in some stupid costume, we've got a corpse (meat, anyone?), and a spirit.

I never liked Liu Kang before, basically because of his high pitched scream and overall 'wussfullness'. Now, being a corpse, he has an added cool factor to his stupid moves.

If Boon is truly the genius he makes himself out to be (ha!), then he'll make this corpse a graphics masterpiece. Another Drahmin without the horrible moves.

i'm glad liu is back. i don't think that just because liu is in the game he'll win everything, i think he really wants his revenge on shang and quan chi. you could put characters in a game for other reasons then just to win a competition and waht not.
