I agree with you, although Liu Kang was given highly overrated he remains one of my favorites.

Liu Kang was probably my strongest character in the first two Mortal Kombat games. To me, he was the best long ranged fighter in Mortal Kombat II along with Kitana.

I was shocked to find out Liu Kang had died in the beginning of Deadly Alliance. I thought that the Champion of Mortal Kombat becomes immortal after winning the tournament? Even though Liu Kang's neck was snapped by Shang Tsung, and he was officialy declared dead by Raiden, I had a feeling he would return.

The idea of Liu Kang in this revamped system is very nice. Has anyone thought of the fact that Liu Kang's soul has not went to the afterlife? His soul is owned by Shang Tsung. First i hate Liu Kang for many reasons. 1.He sounds like a fricking turkey. 2.He won the first 4 MK games, its like the creators couldn't think of who they wanted to win so uhh...hey Liu Kang won the first one why not have him win them all? 3.I found most of his moves to be very cheap his flying jump kick, bicycle kick ect. with these moves you can just fly back and forth across the arena, really takes no talent. 4.I didn't find his storyline to be to enthralling, Earthrealm is in trouble save us bruce le...i mean Liu Kang. Enters, wins, Earthrealm is saved. 5.My final reason for not liking him (final one i'm going to post anyways, to post all the reasons i'd be here all day) HE'S A BRUCE LEE RIP OFF. They changed his name and gave him fireballs to make him more MK style other then that he have bruce lee not very original or creative if you ask me. Now that i'm done with my Bruce Lee impresinator bashing (done for now anyways) i will say that i liked a lot of his Fatalities i.e. the dragon where he bites you in half thats a classic, also was a fan of when he dropped an arcade MK console on your head, other then that i simply despise Liu Kang.

Oh yeah i forgot to say something to that fuckhead with a picture of Hitler. I don't know or care who Paul Simon is, but i do know who Hitler is and simply put you having that picture offends me greatly. I feel you should be forced to change it or be banned from this site. Yadda yadda. All the heroes are asian (with the sole exception being King of Fighters. Hoo-rah for Andy and Terry.) So, he just was original enough for the same reason Jonny Cage and Sonya weren't original (Fei Long=Johnny Cage and Chun-Li=Sonya Blade.) That's what I was immediately drawn to Kano, Sub-Zero, Raiden, and Scorpion. Fatality.

I don't believe that Sol BadGuy is Asian : his real name is Frederick... Doesn't sound really Asian...

And Terry and Andy were Fatal Fury heroes (with Joe Higashi), but not KoF heroes... KoF hero seems although being Kyo... who is Asian too, argh... I want a French hero in a video game too!!! lol

How about NO LOOK? I've been 150% with Liu Kang NOT being in this game from the very beginning and as soon as I heard he was in I got pissed haha... yeah I guess I still am.

Liu Kang will play a lot better than he did before. MKD will earn him some respect.

He'll have a bit more definition now and he'll be fun to watch and use. The switch to the new engine for him will redefine him so to speak. It has done so already with the other characters so I expect the same for him.

Hey lighten up on Kang. Every fighting game needs a Bruce Lee type character and Liu Kang is that character. I think he will do very well in Deception.

I still find it funny that after I posted this, some people still are whining that they hate him for his turkey noises and cheap moves.... well thats why I am looking forward to him being in 3D because I bet that he will be revamped somewhat. Hopefully he won't be as cheap and will have great fighting stances with some new special moves. Why continue harping on why he "sucked" so bad in the other games? I hated Raiden in 2d but loved him in Deadly Alliance.... Every character (yes even ones like Stryker) should be given the benefit of the doubt for 3D until we see them in action!

Why keep saying why he sucked in the old games? Because those are the most current things we have to say about him, seeing as how he died in MK:DA. I agree that Liu Kang will be better in 3D the game is better in 3D therefore characters with be better in 3D. He won't be as cheap as he was in the old days of 2D. I may like him a little more then i did in previous games but i doubt i'll be happy to have him in MK:D. I can think of so many characters i'd rather have the Liu Kang (Rain, Reptile, Sektor...just to name a few) I will say this much, i'm some what anxious to see what his storyline is in MK:D. If he's a zombie/ghost he has to be evil or at least seeking revenge. Whos ever heard of a good zombie? So i agree that Liu Kang will be better then he was in previous installments of MK but i still won't welcome him to the line up until i have every other character i want in the line up which won't likely happen.
