Solid but underwhelming roster. At least Green Lantern is there (Hal Jordan > stuff that isn't Hal Jordan).

NO @#%! Doomsday? Lex Luthor, ugh. I knew he'd make the cut, but for crying out loud. He is a mortal with zero fighting ability or physical skill. Why not make him a npc and give us Doomsday or Bane?

Baraka is okay, but I would much rather have had Kabal, Reptile, Mileena, or Noob.

Hooray for Shao Kahn, can't wait to show Superman and Darkseid who's boss.

Luthor does have his power suit that makes him more than a physical match for any MK fighter. I'm more bothered by Joker's inclusion than Luthor. We all know Joker has always been Batman's little *****. That guy can't fight worth ****.

Not to say that Doomsday isn't a great villain, but with a game that already has Captain Marvel, WW, and Superman, having another character with similar powers would be redundant if it isn't already. As for Luthor, I guess some fans my feel other-wise but I think there were better people to choose from.

Anyway, as far as stages go, they really need to overwhelm us with them after putting out a roster like this.

Sad that there is no Kung Lao but Baraka being my second favourite makes me happy.

Kano, Baraka, and Captain Marvel are the only ones I wish they didn't have and used their places for someone else. Jax...eh..I'll wait and see how the story goes.

Everone else was pretty much expected at least MK wise. Not familiar enough with DC to know about them. (Oh I watch the cartoons, TV shows and movies but never could get into the actual comic books)

Wish they could have used Kano's and Baraka's spots for Johnny Cage (hey this game needs a good laugh from the MK side, DC has Joker) and one of the non-human looking MK characters such Sheeva.

Captain Marvel could so have been replaced by Hawkgirl or Green Arrow.

Eh Doomsday isn't high profile though i mean sure he beat superman once but he's been soundly defected with ease these days. As for Luthor he does have fighting skills, High tech weapons and cunning. So he'll be ok i mean hey he's one of DC's top villains he was a given.

I don't know about some of the above poster's comic knowledge but in the comic boom of the 90s at the time the Death of Superman was the hottest selling comic of all time. The average comic fan who doesn't know anything about Superman usually will be able to name Doomsday as the guy that killed Superman.
Visually he also looks awesome. He is also a bruiser who relies on brute force similar to Goro. He would have made a great sub boss.

Okay granted Luthor has cunning and a hi-tech suit, however that still doesn't make him a great addition to the roster in my opinion. He is not a physical villain, never has been, which was why Doomsday was created in the first place to physically challenge Superman man to man.

I also think the Joker has no place in this game since he is not a physical fighter either. He is the most iconic villain in all comics, but he doesn't belong in a fighting game, and neither does Lex Luthor. The Joker looks fun though, and I want to use him, still not a fighter. Sonya Blade should beat his but in 2 minutes since she is a soldier with combat training. Hell all the mk roster could beat the Joker with one arm tied behind their back. Except Liu Kang. He would die...again.

Lex Luthor was a given from day 1 folks, I don't understand all the hate, The Joker is in the game and he has no real hand to hand background where as Lex can actually hold his own fight. Forget what you've seen in movies.

Why the hell does Kitana keep getting copy/paste special moves that arent hers or dont suit her at all?

Jades teleport, Sonyas square wave punch, and now Mileena's signature roll??? What the hell!? That's not even counting the other copy/paste things like her breaker in MK4, etc.

I find that completely annoying and stupid. They could had given her more originality. I mean, she really needs new moves, so I dont see why giving her Mileenas role and the other stuff is making her any better. Reminds me of Kira.

Too bad there is no Johnny and no Mileena.

it tends to happen in MK. until recently sonya really only had one special move to herself. even jade's shadow kick is lifted from johnny cage and NO ONE complains about that so i don't see what the big deal is with kitana having mileena's roll.

sometimes people take a characters move isn't even noticed cage/jade but with kitana all of a sudden it's this HUGE crime. i don't get it lol. but even still it works for some character, the square wave punch is something i don't associate with sonya at all. if someone say square wave anything i just think of kitana instantely even sonya had it first.

besides the roll could be different, apparently it'll have a pop up effect which even if not in apparence makes it different enough for me.

You are right, oracle. People are making a mountain out of a stone. The square wave punch is not a move that defines Sonya and Kitana didn't steal it: she received it during Sonya's absence and both characters kept it in later games. It's a move that was given from the beginning to two different characters. Same for Jade's teleport: it doesn't make sense for her to be able to teleport any more than it does for Kitana (many characters have that ability anyway). They could avoid Mileena's roll, but I don't think it will be kept in future games. If so... oh well.
