FINALLY black hair and brown eyes. I like the ribbon and the look in her eyes. And if her face is covered they have less chances to screw her up.

I like it kinda, her face looks kinda oddly shaped around the cheeks, and the mask kinda looks fake and she looks a little too young but other than that GJ.

She looks good. I like the pic, but it's still lacking. I mean, Shaolin Monks Kitana was right on for what I imagine what Kitana should look like. She had that deadly beauty look to her. And the eye make up was gorgeous IMO.

This version of Kitana isn't bad by all means, but it could be better. I'm just happy that she doesn't loo like a drag queen like some characters...



Also, I too wish she had the fans in her render. I'm like of wondering what they will look like in this game. Her MK:DA fans were beautiful.

The first time I saw it I didn't like it.however now that i look at it seems better to the eye,well a lot better then freaky Sonya-she looks terrible.

I love Kitana's outfit and the hair but I dislike the stance. To me it seems awkward. I love the background. I am disappointed her fans are not in the render. I was hoping for a render done in the form of her MK2 or MK3 pose with both fans in tow. she does look very young and the more I see her face, the more I like it. They've made her look vastly different to any of her other facial forms.

Well, I agree with what WarriorPrincess is stating, and just want to add that reinventing something doesn't necessarily have to mean starting from scratch and going an opposite direction from what has been done. Like XD says, this game relies heaveily on nostalgia and pointing you the iconic features of the chosen characters, but there's obviously ways to reinvent those iconic features; all you need is a respectable degree of creativity and, of course, willingness to put forward the effort.

What they did with Kitana here is very much different from what they did to most other characters. I continue to think that her look is extremely bland and doesn't show much effort from an overall perspective when it comes to the design (not the render or the character itself). There's just nothing remotely "new" about her new look, which is not the case for the characters who were announced first.

It's impossible not to see that someone like Scorpion, who has always sported very similar outfits and retained a continuous "style" through all the games, still got a very satisfying overhaul in his design. Simple stuff, people, like adding something or thinking up something a little different, can do the job. Just the fact that you can see Scorpion's bones through his outfit is already almost enough to make him look completely new and make his fans happy. Sonya, who, as some of you say, is just a "t-shirt and tight pants" type of girl, can obviously look completely new with some creative choices like the beret, the new hairstyle, updated "sci-fi" look, and simple, simple stuff like bands around her body.

Sorry, but Kitana does not look nearly as eye-pleasing as the ninjas, Sonya, and Shang Tsung.

Like you, I love the Edenian setting (hope it's a stage in the game), and the lack of the bun. I'm not a huge fan of the ponytail, though; although it's way better than the bun, I still would've liked to see Kitana's hair loose in this new game, it would've looked great to see her fighting while her hair flies around everywhere! And it would bring that nostalgic feeling, reminiscent to when we first were introduced to Kitana in MK2.

You were pretty much right on with the negatives. Unfortunately for me, I still haven't been proved wrong from when I said the MK Team needs a new artist, or at least needs to tell the current artist some harsh truths. First they screwed up Sonya's face in what was supposed to be her greatest render yet, not they make Kitana look like she has some sort of disease in her face that's making it swell.

Seriously, we're lucky half of her face is covered up, lest we see her lovely mustache.

I don't know about the bulge in-between the legs, LOL, but it's hilarious that some people said that. *looks more closely* Might be bigger than Liu's, I should double-check.

As for the background of the render... meh. I really like the setting, like I said, but I don't know if it really is supposed to "tell" us something about Kitana. If it's not, then great, I love the Edenian stage. But I do understand where some people who are complaining about the rainbow and so forth are coming from. I mean, one of the biggest things that Kitana suffers with is her persistent "nice little princess" role that, although it only really came forth once or twice, seems bent on annihilating her "dangerous warrior" side once and for all.

Casual and non-fans of Mortal Kombat ARE going to look at this render and think that Kitana is some sentimental little goody-2-shoes that shouldn't even be fighting, but rather being kidnapped. Scorpion and Sub-Zero's backgrounds complimented their "mystical" nature, Catwoman's complimented her "dark, deceptive" nature, Sonya's complimented her "tough, dangerous" nature, Shang's did the same for his "outlandish, heartless" nature. True, Kitana may not be the toughest girl in existence, but it sucks that she continues to be shown off in this light at this point in the game.

Seriously, though, the new face is better. The real Kitana looks bloated and like she's using the mask to hide the ever-expanding facial hair. I think at this stage, we should just give up our expectations of a female who's 100% sexy in the face and be content with hot bodies...

She has the best look ever from all MK series. Awsome! Not too much make-up on her face, big beatiful dark eyes with a sexy look, a very nice long black hair, and no doubt a fine body.

She seems younger which is better. Concerning her fans, it's not necessary to show them now that we have no weapons. But I'm sure that she'll use them in her special moves.

Add a flowing ponytail to the pic below and you've got the PERFECT Kitana. God, she looks so bad ass in that SM render. She doesn't look remotely dangerous in the MK vs DC one.

I personally thought that Kitana's MKSM incarnation was by far her worst. They gave her back that hideous fucking hairbun (they hade it look a bit better with that flowing ribbon of hers,but the point still stands) and gave her the sluttiest,most revealing outfit she ever had. Not to mention that she sounded and acted like a complete moron throughout the entire game.

I don't want to start a race debate but I always saw her as a mix of latino/asian. But thats what I see her as.

As far as the render, the pose messes it up. And I hope we can rip her mask off in kombat, I like Kitana maskless. And come on, her without the mask would have made the render look sooo much better.

I agree.Its funny that people are jumping up all of a sudden protesting and going on and on about the female characters looking "slutty". Umm this has been going on since 1992. I also think theres a difference between being comfortable with yourself and being "slutty". Slutty is beding an entire bed and breakfast, not just wearing skimpy clothes. Theres alot of conservative whores out there.

I remeber getting in a debate with pink ranger over Catwoman. Catwoman has always been sexual and dressed skimpy, she empowers others by doing that. Catwoman is comfortable within her own skin.
