I agree to a certain extent.
I think people exaggerate how "soft" Kitana's become, but she does seem to have lost that "killer's edge" she had back in MK2 and MK3. That's good in it shows Kitana's evolved and developed over the course of the story....but it's something you'd kind of want to keep. I would like to see her get back if she returns in future games. I've gone on about that in various other threads.

However, I really can't give all that much praise for Kitana as she was in Shaolin Monks though. I mean, aside from the hair bun, she did look good in terms of appearance.....but Shaolin Monks had to be one of...if not the...most degrading and insulting portrayals of her character I've ever seen.

Yeah, you know I have to admit the girls in some other fighters like SC for example look way more slutty then Kitana or most MK girls have over the years at least IMO

I like Kitana no matter how she comes out, she's always had a costume that fits her "character" as well as original look and hasn't really drawn too far from it over the years.


If she has a sexier outfit, I'm fine by it, if not I'm fine with that too. Some people will whine about the silliest things, as you guys are seeing now that's how I've felt for months with other aspects of this game lol.

BTW since I was mentioned I would like to say once again that there is fine line between sexy and slutty. Assume all you'd like about my "conservative" personality but you'd be dead wrong. MK vs DCU incarnation of Catwoman is slutty, not sexy. If she zipped it up and left some cleavage that would be sexy. Being overtly sexualized does not equal an empowering female. That's certainly not the character I would want my daughter to look up to. Michelle Pfeiffer's costume was sexy. You don't have to be showing skin and have your breasts hanging out to be sexy. Anyone who says or thinks otherwise is very immature in my opinion.

I think it's a testament to a character like Kitana not to have her breasts barely contained and to be lacking very tacky looking erect nipples. However I'm sure the MK team will rip her clothes in all the right places for you guys.

The point of skimpy outfits and making female characters "sexual" isn't female empowerment, it's to make cocks bling. That actually degrades us women to sex objects when we should be revered for our minds and personalities, not our secondary sex characteristics and underwear.

WarriorPrincess, I also agree that Kitana needs a darker look. I've been bitching about that for a long time now on this board. So fucking sick of her cutesy little outfits and faces. The lady practically has "bimbo" spelled on her forehead thanks to her soft delicate appearance.

I also agree with Leo. They could have given her a new look while still giving her that classic feel. Sonya came with a fresh new look but it still carries all her classic elements.

I'm terribly disappointed. Even with all that skin showing, she still could have looked cool somehow, but Midway has fucked her up again.

I don't know what to say about this render. All I know is, I nearly pissed myself when I seen it. She looks fucked up to be honest. Her outfit is horrible. The worst she's been in since MK2. Her plain ol' MK2 leotard was a million times better. This is just plain ugly. Her body looks broken. Like someone has been tickling her with a sledgehammer. Overall, it's a big dissapointment. She looks disgraceful. I sure hope she's fun to play with, because it's the only thing that could save her. Nice package...

The backlash from fans on these renders, gives me high hopes for MK9. Can't wait to see what fans get pissed. When Midway by some odd chance adds a statue of the olympian god Hermes, in one of their Backgrounds... Maybe his penis will be to big for some folkes. Others... Too small.

Once again, Catwoman has her suit unzipped in the comics as well, thats apart of her character. My two best friends are females and they believe she empowers them, so you can't just say "She doesn't empower females" just like I can't just say "she empowers females".
