Beating your ass or losing to you wouldn't change the fact that you act like you're the only one affected by lag. I played Fly earlier this morning and here is what happened during the series ... We both got fucked a number of times due to lag and camera but we still had an ass kicking series. No counter picking BS or any of the over-zealous glitched-out play. So lag or no lag the shit evens out during the course of the series and it affects both parties most of the time.

So yeah, bring your game to the table and whore out Bo, Scorp or Kabal or 33s, I'd probably and I'd match it with Lei Mei, Reptile and the rest of my versatile roster and still make you sweat your ass.

infinities and glitches are legit in many fighting games, its just in MKA and MKD, they are so broken that it might as well be considered cheating.

Plus things like 33 combos don't even do THAT much of damage. Do Noobs 24 211 c/s (I believe thats what it is) combo, it does a good 40% right? Now compare that to someone like Kung Laos 33X3 then 11 F3 it'll do like the same damage.
Saying 33s are "cheap" is like saying Tekken 6's bounce system is cheap.

O.k now I don't know why y'all complaining about this when we ALL do it. If you don't well thats your fault, if you lose the round or fight because you didn't want to "cheat" oh well... and at the same time it doesn't do much damage so I don't get what the problem is.

I don't actually think 33s are the way to go to guarantee victory but I just find it funny that some people find it funny to turn it into semi-infinity if you don't use your breaker. Most folks who depend on it actually have weak all round game. A good fraction of those also like to result to moving before round starts.

But if you are going to use 33 , 33, 33 relaunch combos that ONLY work ONLINE, why you gonna complain about MKA online gameplay and lag?? I dont get it. If anything you should be THANKFUL you can get 40% damage with almost any character.

So I assume when you say "depend" on 33's, you're talking about those people who are weak players and only have a chance at winning if they land a 33-infinite (or any other infinite). Guys like this Black Scorn guy that people have seen around. In that sense, you're right. Those people do "depend" on 33's.

But when you're talking about the board-members of the community... I can't see that being the case for anybody. Even the most disrespected members of the boards aren't known for that kind of stuff (maybe a few on PS2).

This thread is stupid and goes to show exactly how many people actually play other games in a competitive manner like Tekken, SF, or even UMK3 for that matter, and how well they'll strive in the competitive atmosphere of those games.

Luna, I'm sorry, but if you think 33s are for scrubs, the rest of the good Xbox players would rip you to shreds, as would the best PS2 players. Not that they need it, but it's pretty much a clear example that you pretty much have a scrub mentality.

If it's there for you to use, then by all means use it. The only reason we say infinites are illegal is because they're so easy to do compared to other games like UMK3 or MK4. But everything else is legal. If someone uses it on you, it doesn't make them a scrub. They're just using what they have to win, which is fine. Nothing wrong with that whatsoever.

Once you understand that, your game will improve. If you keep up the hardheaded mindset, I can't say you'll get any much better.

And as for the wasting money on a PS3 comment, all I have to say is look at the PS3's library this year. :D

i dont care what games ps3 has,, i have my umk3 online the only reason i own a 360. i had xbox 360 for a yr before i put a cd in it, and that cd was mka which still worked on my xbox. i would only get ps3 for mk2, but we all no on a competive level its not even close to umk3. but i will be getting a ps3 for mk8 relase, and for the blue ray player.

BS to that. I couldn't care less if someone rips me to shreds whether xbox or ps2 players. I say this now, (IF SOMEONE ABUSES GLITCHES OR ANY OTHER MEANS TO WIN INSTEAD OF USING THE GAME'S CORE ELEMENTS IS NOT A PLAYER). If people claim to be elites or any other names to differ themselves from the average user , should be able to handle anyone, anytime without the use of glitches and flaws (PERIOD). Using such things, takes the fun out the game and ruins it full stop. If was in real life i.e 2 player game in a arcade it would never happen.

In my day (back in 92) i've seen people get punched in the face for using throws in SF2 in the arcade. To me that was pathetic and out of order, as throws are a part of the game.

Regards to MKA, 33's are not supposed to occur and is due to network programming errors, lag and poor QA testing on behalf of Midway's testers. That is not a part of the game, ask midway yourselves.


Its not having scrub mentality, its common sense. I played some guy on UMK3 who claimed to be the best, yet because i didn't play to his liking, i get called every name under the sun. This is my whole point, if you claim to be the best and have to use such techniques as mentioned above to win, then your not worth my time.

There seems to be an assumption that if you're now playing and abusing whatever is possible you can't compete. I think that's BS. Luna is probably one of the better players I've played in UMK3 and right up there in MKD and now that he's started playing MKA I'm sure his game will be right up there again. Core elements over-write glitch effect anytime any day. I accept the fact that you can't just say, let's play without any glitch but those who depend on glitch, lag or whatever truly takes the fun away.

Arcade days... MAN! Those were the days you get banned for cheating. Does anyone remember that? Now we have no one to enforce the rules and people get away with it because there's no way to bitch slap them across the Internet.

I got barred for taking too long on Killer Instinct because the arcade was losing money during the peak period in the summer holidays when they first got the game. They had it on the highest diff and charged £1 for one credit and people would lose either on the 2nd or 3rd character.

So that means top players in SF2 aren't top players because they use move cancels? Mind you, those weren't even intentional aspects of that game.

Are the top SSBM players ridiculed for using wavedashing and L-cancelling? Those are also two unintentional aspects of that game.

In fighting games, it's whatever. I'm not saying you have to rely on it. I don't necessarily rely on them either. I would if I could consistently do it, but I can't, therefore I don't. What I'm saying is if you don't use them, don't. No biggie. But don't ridicule others for using whatever's in the game, regardless of whether it's intentional or not. If you lose to someone who uses it, it's not their fault. It's yours. You made the mistakes that allowed them to use it, and they took advantage. That's not playing unfair, that's just smart and using whatever is available. No one's a scrub for taking advantage of all the tools available to them.

The top guys from BOTH Xbox and PS2 like Doohoo, Check, Bone, Versa, Eazy, Dave, G-Roy, and Karate will tell you what I just said, anyday. If it's there, it's there.
