MKD(A) Too much moves to remember: How many characters will you master?

Ok if we have to single out characters to master (I will still master ALL if possible)
Then I will nominate
Nightwolf (from the initial selectable characters)
Sektor
Kira

The combo system in MK is very basic, but it feels hard to learn a character when you first use them because they don't have that many combos.
You end up doing a lot of single hit's and maybe a 2 hit combo if you get lucky. Then people get frustrated and are like, this sucks, "This guy can't fight."
That's what I've noticed when watching some people play it for the first time.
I play fighting games all the time and I can pretty much figure out a large number of moves and combos by just using common sense.
Like watch the computer and see what it does, or if a character has a 1,1,2 combo, then I'll try that with every fighter or I'll try variations like 2,3,4 or what ever.
That's how I figure out how to fight and do combos on instinct alone.
For games like Tekken and VF it much easier because they have so many possible combinations. You can do combos by accident. That's not a bad thing, I see that as a good thing.
When people play those games for the first time they get all exited because they feel like they are actually doing something.
Then they get pissed because they can't win.
In MK it's hard because you have a very limited number of combos so you can't just wing it. You end up having to look at the moves list more often.
That's what I get from watching people play.

I don't play MKDA that much any more, but my normal strategy is to use all the combos and do lot's of juggles. And I never beat the game straight. I always loose at least 1 or 2 times.
But then I kept reading about how you just need to find the best combo to beat the game, I already figured it was true, but I wanted to see it for my self anyway.
I picked scorpion and just did his biggest style branch, then juggle with his biggest weapon combo. So it's a 13 hit combo, 14 with the spear.
All I did was block then do the combo and juggle, block combo and juggle again. The same combo over and over..............
I beat the game straight, I didn't loose a single round.
That's because the combo and overall fight engine is so simple, that all you need is to do in order to win is do the same combo over and over again.
It's going to be a lot better now in MKD because of the combo breakers. Unless they make it too easy, or too hard.
