Mortal Kombat Deception vs Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance
Mortal Kombat Deception vs Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance
Which one do you like better?
I like Deadly Alliance better because, i felt that deception just copied chracters moves and weapons and gave it to different people.
ex. Havik stole from Shang tsung and Quan Chi
Kabal took the hookswords back from Mavado
Kira, the one i hate most, took from Sonya and Kano
Kobra took weapons from Sonya
many more
basicallly
MKDA : Originality
MKD: No Originality
MKDA : 8.5/10
MKD: 8/10

They both have their ups and downs, but in general, I like MKDA's gameplay better. The fact that there were Reversals, Throws, Shoves, and Power-Ups really made it better than MKD.
Plus, MKDA has a better roster of characters. MKD still has a good roster, just not as good.
MKDA - 9.5/10
MKD - 8.5/10

hmmmmmmmm tough for me,like u all said MK:DA does have a better character list (kano, sonya, etc).and its gameplay is more extreme with the reversals and special moves. But MK:D has its ups 2.The Arenas Are much better, with deathtraps and arena wepons, were in MK:DA arenas Just have a small area 2 kick ass in.MK:D characters arnt that bad as well,i enjoyed playing as Baraka and Mileena again.Nightwolfs cool 2.plus the Gamecube Shao Kahn and Goro. and of corse Noob-smoke
.MK:D arena songs are cooler 2.MK:DA sounds like the same song in every level. But MK;DA does have cool costumes.(Inferno Scorpien,MK 1 kano),But then again MK:d Sub-zero looks awsome as well.anyways it just occured 2 me that i have waaaaaay 2 much time on my hands so im gunna shut up now, cause i cant make up my mind.............LOOK ITS RAIDEN>

i agree that MK:DA has a better character list and somewhat gameplay. But MK:D has cooler arenas and deathtraps.MK:DA has cool costumes tho (KANO MK 1 and inferno scorpien) but MK:D has a awsome Sub-zero,and The games soundtrack is better.MK:DA Soundtrack is like the same song in every level.Well its a tough choice for me so uh..................LOOK RAIDEN>
I enjoy them both. I love the Konquest mode and mini games in MKD, especially when I am not in the mood for arcade mode. The arena traps are awesome! MKDA had a better storyline and cast of characters. I enjoyed that MKDA Konquest mode familarized me with every character.

Hmmm................tough one. I love Deception. The multiple fatalities, the stage fatalities, an entertaining Konquest mode, but insazu makes a good point, alot of the moves and weapons were copied and moved (such as Johnny Cage's nunchaku, which are used by Liu Kang in Deception.) Both games are great, and this is like asking me to choose between my children, but.............Deadly Alliance. It's the game that brought MK back with a bang. Plus, it had Test Your Might and Test Your Sight, which I found to be fun and amusing. DA all the way.

Sonya: "You are the most egotistical, self-deluded person I have ever met."
Johnny Cage: "You forgot good looking."

I liked both games quite a bit. I liked MKDA because the game was more original, whereas MKD was sort of copied.
Deception had some good new characters (Ashrah, Dairou) but some not so good new characters (Kobra, Darrius). Deadly Alliance was the same - Frost and Kenshi were amazing, but Drahmin and Hsu Hao were not that great...
The Special modes of Puzzle and Chess were also great in MKD.
The Konquest modes - I wish that MKD had it's Konquest mode, plus another Konquest mode (obviously different names) that is modelled on MKDA konquest.
I dunno... overall, I would say MKDA is a bit better. I rate them
MKDA: 9.5/10
MKD: 9/10

breakers are stupid. reversals rule!
that aside, both games were borderline unplayable. Giant static combos and almost no defensive play? what the hell was the point of 3 fighting styles anyway?
DA-
bad: no teleports and few orignal moves
good: good technical fighting/best roster since MKII
D
bad: not good enough
good: better than DA

No way.
MK2 was unplayable (Arcade mode at least). MKDA was not.
Tough question. I like both, but I'll analyze it step by step:
Arcade Mode:
MKDA: Bigger ladder (ladder?) than MKD's. It has also an interesting aspect, an overall view of the arena and a picture of your opponent. Unfortunately, it is not random. 8/10
MKD: The ladder remember me of MK II's. Just eight fights (including Onaga and Noob-Smoke). And like MKDA, You have to fight the very same people at the very same arena. 6.5/10
Konquest:
MKDA: I liked the fact that we learn more about storyline while playing this. but training moves and combos isn't what I'd call fun. 7/10
MKD: The training continued, and the storyline was centered in Shujinko and his quest. But I liked it more than MKDA's. 8/10
Mini Games:
MKDA: Test your Might is a classic and Test your Sight was cool. Unfortunately you have to play Arcade Mode to play them. And they are the only place where you can find Onyx and Platinnum coins, which means that you have to play them to unlock Cyrax for example. 7.5/10
MKD: Chess Kombat was my favorite mini game. I think I played it much more than Arcade Mode. Puzzle Kombat can burn. 8.5/10
Characters:
MKDA: A bunch of classic characters and some new ones. Some of them I like (Kitana, Kenshi, Kung Lao, Sonya, Li Mei), some of them I dislike ( Jax, Drahmin, Johnny Cage) and for others I don't really care (Cyrax, Frost). 8.5/10
MKD: Some of the few classic character that appeared, like Raiden and Liu Kang were a bit different of what they used to be. Of the new characters, I only liked Ashrah and Dairou. Of the returning characters, I like Ermac, Jade, Mileena, Sindel... 8.5/10
Arenas:
MKDA: I liked its arenas. Though they are smaller than MKD's and those "invisible walls" really annoy me. 8/10
MKD: Huge arenas, much more interactive than MKDA's. And some of them have deathtraps. 9/10
Gameplay:
I'll not dare to rate it here. I'm not an expert. But I prefered MKD's over MKDA's.
Overall:
I'm going against the majority here and say that I have more fun playing MKD.
MKDA: 8.5/10

IMO its not really rite to say that MKD was unoriginal just for the fact that its the succesor of MKDA.because its a new game doesn't mean they're supposed to come up with completely new material.
I really Liked MKD ALOT better than Deadly Alliance. MKDA the graphics were a lil crappy and there was way to much extra stuff Power UPs(nejiin) ,shoves, reversals.
MKDA might have had more of a selection but they didnt even have Liu Kang. So what if it was against the storyline Him and
were in every single MK until DA. but MKD added new faces that might be here to stay(Shujinko, hopefully Darrius, Havik, and hotaru)and brought back some fan favorites(Baraka,Mileena,Jade, and Ermac).
Test your M/Sight got alittle repetitive after doing it a billion times and you had to do arcade to get to it.
Chess and Puzzle added a litle more strategy in chess and a more of a challenge since not all characters started at full health.
I think MKDA was a good game, but MKD was more of an improved version in alot of aspescts. But that just my 2 cents.
MKDA 7/10
MKD 9/10

I like both of the games, but I enjoyed playing Deception much more, must've been because of Konquest, it's fun playing that, the one in Deadly Alliance kinda sucks, Anyway my point is Overall Deception is better in my opinion.

I really do like Mortal Kombat Deception more, mainly because of the Konquest mode.

MKD is better than MKDA. But DA is fun.
