I disagree with you on that one. I think that MK should have more of the type of music from MK1 and MK2.

Rap is Crap
Hip Hop would be cool. They should have Hip Hop in at least one level. Maybe even make a character based on Hip Hop. If there is one thing that i've never liked about Mortal Kombat it would be the music. Hip Hop would make MK a little edgier and maybe even draw interest in people that normally wouldnt play MK.

Hip Hop and Mortal Kombat don't mix. enough said

First off I'm a huge MK fan and a big fan of hip-hop. I am very offended by the comment about 'only on Jax's stage. The black man has to listen to bling bling while he fights Cage.' That was some racist sh*t!
In case you didn't know, hip-hop music is widely accepted and loved by people of all races and backgrounds! So it's not just a black thing. And just to inform you other fools - just cuz it's rap doesn't mean it's HIP HOP. Hip-Hop is more than rap music...it's a certain vibe and content of the music that makes it hip-hop. And lastly, the whole BLING BLING thing is not what makes a track hip-hop. If anything, that's the opposite of hip-hop music. BLING BLING sh*t is an insult to anything hip hop. That's like me saying that rock music is devil-worship music. That's just an ignorant thing to say.
Now as far as putting hip-hop music in a MK game, there is logic behind it...but I wouldn't say that it belongs in a MK game. The logic is this - MK has evolved with time. Hip-hop music is a big part of today's time, so if there really was a fight for mankind in the middle of NY, you might hear some hip-hop music playing in the background. But on the same note, there are other music genres that are part of our culture too, so it gets to the point where you worry about different representations of music too much. I just don't think that that's what MK is all about.
I think that the music from the MK1 was tight. It fit the game. As far as the music goes for MK6, it should fit the game as well as the stage you're fighting on. I think the music so far has been fine.

yah that would be cool. I like rap n stuff. I hate rock music

hip hop could fit in if the beats were dark sounding and made with no bounciness sounds to them, some examples of beats i feel wouldve been good for a mk game would be
mobb deep-quiet storm
scarface-mary jane
nas-one mic
mobb deep-G.O.D. pt III
those are just a few

I would be VERY disappointed if the next Mortal Kombat game had a hip hop soundtrack. If anything, Mortal Kombat should have an industrial metal type soundtrack (bands like Rammstein and MDFMK) because it's dark yet it has a good beat. And also, it doesn't have all that "pimpin' da hoezzz" and "Stompin' in mah Urrr Fo'ce One" bullshit.

I'm gonna have to go with the majority on this one. Rap/HipHop would ruin the vibe. There probably are some songs that would fit. But I just can't picture it.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Time to offend people....
Most rap is gangstas, hoes, or has no point at all... Rap has little talent.. some does, most doesn't... mainstream at least.. electonically programmed samples and pre-programmed bass loops doesn't contsitute music... most rap names off locations, people, their wealth, or how they from the streets, etc... I don't live in these places, I don't care about your hard life, your wealth that you got from speaking to a beat with lyrics someone else for you, or these other people that have less talent that you do and only get featured on your record...
It would throw off the dark feel... industrial rock maybe... a lot of rock aka bubble gum punk.. is the same thing too... so I am not being hip hop-rock biast... I like some rap songs.. and some rock bands are crap also.. mainly the ones that play three chords and play the same drum beat through the entire song.. I like a little talent in my music that talks about subjects that matter to me, have interesting instrumental structures, beats, or once in a while that sound good... some people are going to say that not all rap is about da gangstas and da hoes... ok maybe, but if it isn't it mentions someone's name specifically a lot of times and that will wear out with time... good music lives forever...
I saw britany speares' cd for $5 new at wal-mart the other day... like four years old or something(brittany is not rap... it is an example) and Metallica and justice for all is fifteen or more years old and still is at like $15 or something like that... that is an example
Well now that I have a whole mess of people angry with me I bid you adue...
If a rapper writes his or her own music, uses real drums, bass, and the most real instruments he or she can possibly use... then I'll give them credit... if I am incorrect on this correct me
maybe there is an underground hip hop movement that can prove me wrong on some of this stuff I am open to change my mind later

rap dosent fit, mk has an dark feel, maybe in a game like virtua fighter or tekken.but if they start putting bands in mk it would be to mainstream.plus it would be corny, i like rap but i dont really listen to it that much anymore.no bands in mk(unless i can do a fatality to christina aguilerria)that would be cool for me.well thats why they have that celeberty death match game coming to ps2,xbox and gamecube.

Yeah, I can just imagine me fighting Jax beat on Scorpion's tail while hearing "You can find me in the club, bottle full of bub..."(50 Cent "In da club).
