Obviously Will isn't very smart. First off, he doesn't read these stupid topics, if you're going to make these threads, put them over at the Midway Boards where you belong. Second, his job is secured, John Tobias is LONG gone and Ed is second of the co-creators and you can't make the game without him. A lot of people have given good arguments about saving the Midway Company, but I still think this is a bad idea. Sure, it may get a lot of new fans, but it will lose many long time fans of MK. Personally, of all of the crossovers, I don't know why they settled with DC. Ed Boon talks about wanting Street Fighter or Tekken but never being able to do it, but he got this idea presented to him and used it. I think it was a bad choice.

Many people aren't so phased about the "T" rating and loss of blood and gore, but the truth is that its taking out the Trademark of Mortal Kombat. I'm sorry but I think this will be a horrible game to hardcore fans of the series. It doesn't even look like there were any graphic improvements, and the different fighting modes (air combat, close combat etc.) could've been added to a normal MK game.

Well, if this MKvsDC is what were getting, then I guess I'll rent it and play as all the MK characters and beat the living shit out of the DC characters.

MKvsDC could just be a cover-up 'til MK8 is completed. Another thing they could do is have the cover and disc of MK/DC on it, but when getting ready to play it the pic burns away then the *real* MK8 logo appears.

Just pointing out what could happen, but it's a low percentage.

I really dont agree with you man. The idea is Fresh and New and most important of all, it could turn out to be GREAT, tha main problem is the lack of reality the game transmits, i mean the Graphics....C{mon its UNREAL ENGINE 3!!!!! For the love of God!! The graphic engine they are using is capable of having REALISTIC 3D MODELS wich would rock the world AGAIN like MK1 in 1990 did....I believe that even Smackdown 2008 or Fight Night Round 3 for Xbox 360 have more realistic models than MK vs DC. What's with the Overmuscled bodies!?!?!?!!? Soul Calibur characters look more real.-

I can deal with the cross-over, and I can even ignor the no storylines (as the storyline has gone to crap anyways)... But FATALITIES are what made Mortal Kombat!!!!

A Mortal Kombat without fatals, is like sub-zero without his ice blast, baraka without his blades, kitana without her fans ... it's them, but it is not.
Blood and Fatals were and are MK's gimmick and it was what drew us blood hungry vets to the arcades and then buying every MK product out there and sitting through 2 shitty pg-13 movies (well the first one was okay i guess).

This was the first new news of the new MK I have read, I usually get all getty like a school girl when new MK games or info are released ,but so far, i am not impressed or amused...this is insulting to me and an other longtime MK fan. The gore and fatalities in ANY MK game is "VERY" important, it is what makes MK what it is...without it, MK is just another stupied martial arts game.

This will be the first mortal kombat game that I do not buy, and frankly , if the future for MK is bloodless Vs games, then they will not get a penny from me or any other respectable fan of the series. This comes from a fan who has bought any system (including that piece of crap sega 32x) that has had a MK game on it.
