Some of these are actually true, I actually have a source on this. Don't know if it will turn out to be reliable, though. Some of these are my own creations, though. See if you can guess which ones:
-Only one Edenian character will return. Unfortunately, this means that it's unlikely the Taven/Daegon, Kitana/Mileena rivalries will continue/be canon. Apparently it is down between Taven and Kitana, as to who will return. Vogel wants Taven, and Boon wants Kitana.
There is a possibility that both will be left out.
-Jax, as one of Boon's favorite characters, will return. This time as a cyborg that talks smack in a robotic voice. Apparently the MK Team have had a lot of fun with writing for the character so far.
-The rumors that Sonya is returning is sort of true. They didn't necessarily have her planned right from the start, but she fits into the story, so she'll be in the game.
-Scorpion will have a completely new look, although his story will flow from Armageddon. Apparently they are toying with black as the primary color for Scorpion, with yellow taking more of a backseat.
-One cybernetic ninja will return, but it will not be who you think, or how you think. (My note: I don't really get this one, I mean, there are only limited possibilies, aren't there?)
-Noob Saibot will NOT be back in the game. Apparently the MK Team feels his story did become well received, but it was an old arc story.
-Sareena will also NOT return.
-There will be a new Red Dragon character. Apparently the Red Dragon will actually play a huge part.
-"Jerrod's Lair" will be the name of one of the stages.
-A new character will have the ability to throw the ghost of a character at the opponent. It sounds stupid, but apparently it fits in with the context of the story. (My note: Yeah, it does sound pretty stupid, but I hope the story does explain it)
-A new character will wield Shao Kahn's hammer. I'm sure the Emperor can't be happy about that? (My note: This makes me believe that Shao Kahn might still be alive for the game...or maybe it's just MK humor?)
-A new character was described as "Magneto with martial arts instead of brains." A lot of characters take their inspirations from comic characters, and this one will be no different, although he will be unique enough for him to feel original.
-One character will heal automatically. Their story was described as being "as a healer who has gone angel of death."
-There will be weapons in the game, and some characters will have the ability to take a weapon off the opponent, and then use it against them.
-There will be an entirely new system for Fatalities.
-Konquest mode is being replanned, and may be removed entirely.
And yeah, that's it. But yeah, none of them are true, I made them all up.
