The thing that probably interested me the most out of what little info/discussion is there is that the premise of the game is built on simultaneous catastrophic disasters in both worlds. Which, if you think about the time frame, could've been a great post-MKA/Infinite Crisis situation.

Chances are it's just a vague precursor to the game, but it'll be interesting if we see some familiar names or events connected to the beginning of the game.

It's probably not a bad thing that he overly stressed that it's set in an alternate universe/timeline too, because clearly a lot of people are still confused by references to MKII and 3.
