Well in Scorpion's background and bio, he doesn't come from a scorpion race. He uses his spear attack to sting and impale his opponents like a scorpion, like Sub-Zero got his name because of the freezing abilities. Likewise, Reptile, hence the name, comes from a REPTILIAN race. If they intended Reptile to be a human ninja, I'm sure they would have gone along the lines of something dealing with a man who can spit acid and that has a long toad, something along the lines of The X-Men's Toad character. Reptile, the way he is now, has more character depth and originality than I ever thought he would ever get. Why? Because before he was a lame, unoriginal ninja. The only thing original about him was the fact he spit acid and had an interest background. Now, he has the whole sha-bang. And lastly, if you're going to have an intelligent debate with someone, leave out the childish remarks such as calling me an 'idiot'.

Who ever said he couldn't be able to turn invisible in MK:A? They ARE bringing back A LOT of stuff, and characters like Tanya in Deception had it, so what makes you think Reptile won't? What does his move-list have to do with his appearance? That doesn't make sense to me. All I have to say on the subject is, Reptile is now one of the most original looking characters in the franchise. Why? Because he stands out. If he was still a ninja, he would STILL, after ALL these years, have no credibility what-so-ever as a stand-out character. I would laugh my ass off if he was still an unoriginal piece of crap palate swap ninja. He looks great as a reptilian creature, and his outfit (the main one from Deadly Alliance) still looks similar to a ninja type outfit, as do all the other ninjas.

Yet he was still reptilian, not human, like he was ALWAYS supposed to be. His outfit in MK:SM was still different from the original and made him unique, yet gave a wink and a nod towards the original ninja outfit, the same as Deadly Alliance version of Reptile does. All the ninja's look different and have different outfits, yet each ninja's outfit refers back to the original. And by credibility, I mean he lacked originality. Most the ninja's back then did. But now, they are stand-alone characters and are more original in their own ways than I ever thought possible. Same goes for Reptile. He's now a one-of-a-kind character, there-fore unique.

If you're going to be a MK fan, there is one thing you got to get through your head. Ed Boon could care less what either of us think. All he see's is $$$ and there-fore, doesn't give a damn what you want. Only reason Reptile was the way he was in MK:SM was because thats what he was like back in MKII yet it coincided with the fact he looked reptilian now thanks to MK:DA. And about the tail, last I looked, most reptilians do have tails, so it's stupid to be true to how reptilians look in real life?

I fail to see any part of your point of view..... MK has lasted over thirteen years with its' strong fan base support ($) and feedback (like this very thread)....

I dont mind Reptile from MKDA but I definatley prefer his MK2, and MK:SM looks. I understand he is a reptile, but I think they should have kept him as a reptile/human hybrid as opposed to going more towards the reptile side. If they lost the tail, and made his face more human shaped, i'd be totally okay with it. I do still prefer playing as him from MK 2 though, just because he had way better specials.

Who says reptile wont have moves like invisibility in MKA? His de-evolution says it. As he deevolves he loses the ability to do things like his invisibility, and exploding yellow ball move. Any more de-evolution and he wont even be able to spit acid or stretch his tontue for a fatality because he will be a plain ol raptor.
I find it highly funny how people always say "no ninjas no ninjas no more pallete swaps!!!" why do i find it funny? because those are the people who are stuck in MK2-MKT mind frame. Ill say this again. They Are No Longer Pallete Swaps Dammit! Can you honestly say from Decption that Sub, Scorpion, Ermac and Noob are still pallete swaps? Or can you say they started as pallete swaps and became distinct individuals in which ONLY people who know the MK history knows how they began as color swaps. I dont think someone who picks up MKD as their first game will say "man Noob and Subzero look exactly the same except that they are a different color.
If need be i would rather play with a pallete swaped character who has distinct moves such as Reptile to Scorpion than a clone character who looks different like Kano to Jarek.
I see no problem with Reptiles SM look as the answer for several reasons
1) it ends the problem of the reptile fans and ninja fans as he is a combination of both
2) This form is more evolved than his primative form so it will allow him to perform his trademark moves like acid spit, the yellow orb and his invisiblity.
3) If given this form then it would mean he has evolved which means Khameleon could be written back in as his evolution rests solely in her distance from him.
4)MKSM i think is just his best look to fit his personality and character. MKD was too primative and previously he was too human.

i really dont mind what reptile looks like unless he doesn't have the same generic human look(which i highly doubt it will be), but i hope he has his MK:SM look as an alt or the main then i will be very happy.

I mostly liked his MK:SM look. But i think he should have his MK:DA look, he shouldn't hide who he truly is. It's a LOT better if he is a Reptile, instead of being a ninja just like the others.
