Um, no, wrong. We DO need bios for the characters, because NOTHING is explained. There is absolutely no explination for how the events of Deception transitioned to Armageddon, no explination for how the supposedly DEAD characters (like Shang Tsung, Quan Chi, Motaro, Sheeva, etc.) all returned, no explination as to even why everyone dropped what they were doing to gang-rush Blaze and get his godly essence...NOTHING is explained. Mortal Kombat is NOT just about 'awesome gameplay', it's about the STORYLINE, the deep and faceted STORYLINE, and without it, a LOT of the appeal for it is missing. Because there's no bios to explain where the characters were and how they got to how they were now, the events and endings of Armageddon make absolutely no sense, whatsoever. Hell, if it wasn't for the constant cameos of MK characters, the storyline could've been for a completely different game, it's just THAT detached from the rest of established MK canon. Every MK game in the past has followed through story-wise from the last, all building up to what shoulv'e been the biggest climax ever, but whatever it was all leading up to, it was most certainly not THIS. There's not even a hint to ANY of the events described in Armageddon's Konquest mode that appeared in ANY of the past games.

As for the endings, nearly ALL of them go completely against established canon. Why in the fuck would Jax become a full cyborg and lead the Tekunin? The Special Forces were fighting AGAINST the Tekunin in Konquest, for fuck's sake, so Jax's ending contradicts the events in the SAME FUCKING GAME! How did Motaro and the other Centaurs become bipedal? Okay, it was a curse by th Shokan, but WHY would the Shokan curse their former enemies after they SIGNED A FUCKING PEACE TREATY WITH THEM IN MK4?! Even Taven's ending renders the entire game useless. This is just a big ball of arbitrary add-ons from a group of people who thought it would be 'cool' to fuck with everything that is MK. The storyline, the primary draw for most fans here, got shat on and burned in effigy in the fires of a corporation who thinks they know what's best for the fans.

And the gameplay isn't that great, either; air kombat is severely tacked-on and isn't all that good for damage, the Kreate-a-Fatality feature utterly sucks, half of the unlockable arenas are static and uninteractive (and generally uninteresting, as well), Motor Kombat is a very pale imitation of Mario Kart, and the Kreate-a-Fighter feature is only half-realized, with a LOT of content missing, and the content we DO have grossly sporadic (case in point: Cyrax helmet for females, but no other cyberninja parts).

Face it: the game's severely half-assed, and the bios could've helped relieve some of the hate to it, but now that possibility is null and void. I wouldn't be surprised if Midway announces that what we see in the game is what is there, and there are NOT further unlockables that can be accessed. In that case, someone BETTER come up with some cheat codes to get whatever 'removed' stuff is still buried in Kreate-a-Figher, or else I'm boycotting Midway and MK for good.

Ninja_Mime, chill out, I cant help it that people freak out because they dont know the story of how onaga and reptile are in the same game when everything you need to know is already explained in Deception. Im not saying the bios dont matter, in fact I like bios, Im just not ruining a perfectly awsome game by grieving over no stupid bios that arnt neccessary.

I thank God a FEW of my faves actually got decent endings and decent “stuff” in this disappointing pathetic excuse of an Mk game, but most of this entire creation is just shit, and you guys made it shit, by constantly making up lies, by destroying the storyline(closure? story potential?), by ignoring the facts (stupid retcons), by not making justice to characters (no leg grab for Sonya? No nut punch for Cage? No hair for Sindel? No etc etc etc?), by creating lame excuses for endings ("OMG, no pics, Katas rock!") and fatalities ("Omg, this is going to be new and fun! We promise its not to take teh easy way out and cerate original fatalities for everyone!"), etc etc etc. You SUCK!

I have been a loyal fan of the game, always in love with it despote its flaws, but not even the few positive things that MKA has can save this game, for the first time ever, I feel like I hate an Mk game.

I UNDERSTAND you like bios and the story is important to you but PLEASE dont freak. Its a game. Thats all I can say. Everyone just needs to stop trippin and accept the game for what it is. I think its a wonderful game, best MK yet.

Do you remember when Fable came out for the X-Box? Remember all of the things that Lionhead promised would be in the game, but weren't, and the outrage fans gave them because of it? It may be 'just a game', but it's a game that WE bought, and were promised a whole fuckton more than what we got. $50, that's what this game costs. We don NOT pay $50 for half-ass shit, we pay $50 for what we're promised, and if what we're promised isn't there, then that's false advertising, and Midway CAN be held liable for it. It's like what they're doing with Sonic the Hedgehog and Spyro, they're tearing the heart and soul out of a once-profitable and thriving franchise (that even REBOUNDED after sales dropped due to MK4 and MK: Annihilation), and threw it in the gutter again. Every thing that we were promised was either given to us as a shell of what was presented, or not there at all. I say Midway owes us a formal apology for this atrocity, and start working on making MK8 exceed our expectations, NOT destroy them.

I understand what you mean. My opinion on the game is obviously different than yours, because I truely love the game, but I know what it feels like to buy a 50 dollar game and not get your moneys worth. MKA was well worth 50 bucks or MORE to me, even though it might not be to you.

[spoiler]Onaga was going to find Quan Chi and get his amulet to finish the komidogu stuff, but the bad guys decided they needed to join together because of armageddon so he put that on hold.

Meanwhile the elder Gods had to resurrect everyone who died and thus armageddon begun. Taven won and now we have to wait for the next game to find out what happens.

So if your favorite character died, don't worry they were brought back to life. See, there's your bio. [/spoiler]

No... I dont think the Elder Gods ressurected anyone. That would be pointless, because they are the ones trying to kill everyone and STOP armageddon. My personal opinon was that it was Havik with the heart of Onaga trying to create CHAOS.

I knew, from the very get-go, that that supposed Vogel e-mail was utter bullshit. I swear, man, if you guys really would be all about getting some of the garbage off these boards, you'd ban anyone deliberately lying for the sake of misleading people (no matter how mundane).

I think that is really lame to not have bios in MKA. I mean, come on. 62 characters, and not one of them have a bio. That's shit. I just really hope we can still fill out that petition, and maybe they can change their minds on making bios put online.
