They didn't have time? Perhaps they're time could have been better used actually finishing up the story of a franchise that is almost 15 years old instead of programing a stupid cart mini-game (which by the way is nothing more than a gimmick and will be dead on XBox live long before the fighting portion is, I guarantee it).

Story is important. That's why most people here took the time to play through every Mortal Kombat game over and over with every character just to see how it ends.

Don't worry guys, we have bios!

Meat is a fun character who assists Shinnok.

See?

Sadly enough, that bio is shittier than chameleon's mkt bio.

Here's a joke for ya. What happens when you cross Twisted Metal 4, Twisted Metal Black, MKDA, and MKD together?

Answer: The crappiest MK game to ever be made, Mortal Kombat Armageddon.

If anyone needs an explanation to why I mentioned those 4 specifically, let me know and I'll let y'all know in a different post.

The petition can still be relevant. All it's saying is bios should be released, whether they already exist or not. Personally, I wouldn't really have high expectations for whatever they come up with anyway. A lot of the stuff the fans come up with is more interesting than anything they've done. I'll always love the MK characters, but their potential has never been realized. I started thinking up my own MK bible...and I'm talking fundamental changes like origins.

I heart this thread.

MK's story has always been stupid, that's part of the fun. Don't take it seriously, it's not Orwell. It's amazing that of all the things that have been wrong with MK since DA, this is what's getting under the fans' collective skin.

You don't need bios. Knowing a character's motivations dosen't change the gameplay. Besides, if you've ever played a Mortal Kombat game before, you can piece this one together. Barring Liu Kang, none of the characters have changed signifigantly since their debuts. Yeah, some characters were dead and are now back. Know why? Having every character is a good selling point. Motaro only has two legs now. The reason? Easier to add to the game without being a lame cut and paste job like he was in Trilogy.

The endings are without exception, the greatest triumph of humanity. We've managed to create something dumber than Mr. Nanny. I don't know about you, but I think that's something to be proud of. Hulk Hogan has been forgiven and that's good enough for me. Ice God for the mother fucking win!

This is the first time I've even mildly enjoyed MK since 1998. Armageddon is awesomely retarded. It's Shaq-Fu for a new generation. Put your storyline woes aside and roll with the stupidity. Learn to laugh at this piece of crap and you'll have a good time with it.

I'm starting to wonder if all these guys with terribly insulting and unconvincing arguments why MK doesn't need bios or storyline are plants from Midway trying to shut us up so they don't have to work harder.

Mortal Kombat hasn't been good for gameplay since the mid-90's and any true fans it has, it has because it's one of only two fighting games in the entire known universe with a decent plot. (the other is Soul Calibur.) I hope Armageddon's sales tank so they'll learn their fucking lesson.

Recently there have been rumours going around that there were in fact character biographies in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, but that for creative reasons they were not included in the final game. These rumours also stated there might be a chance said bios could make it onto the official site should fan interest be strong enough. To get a definitive answer on the subject, we contacted our sources at Midway and asked what they could tell us on the subject. Unfortunately, the word from our Midway sources is that there are no existing biographies for characters in MK: Armageddon. So, at this time, this should be considered an unfounded rumour.

Our thanks to our Midway sources who helped set the record straight on this issue.

confused This i don't understand. I got the prima stragety guide which have brief bio information on the characters, and how they are after the last game they were in. Why are these not on the web site, or if they are (i don't know if the midway site is the only one your talking about), why does my guide have bios?

It's called making more money. If you stop to think that book you have for the stragety guide there has the " bios", why couldn't they put it in the game? You buy the game, Kollector's edition and stagerty guide (Excuse my spelling), you are paying more money to them and this is what they want....
