Thanks. A few people have commented to me on MKo and elsewhere about the breasts. But its the design of the basque-type top that makes them look bigger. And yes the face could have used some work. but Im crap at drawing faces. Lol.

What about Kia and Jataaka. How do you want them to look like?
They shouldn't be in MKA. Period.
I'm sure this has already been discussed elsewhere, but this seemed like the best place to revive the topic. With the game and her bio out now, what can be said of her story potential and the direction her character has taken?
First off, her bio:
Now this is just about perfect. Just about. It touches on her history with the original Sub-Zero and why the current Sub-Zero allows her to reside with the Lin Kuei. I do find it ironic that a demon from the Netherealm is genuinely more loyal to the Lin Kuei and Sub-Zero personally than Frost was.
She's a demon and Sub-Zero knows it. And because he knows it, Sareena seems to work even harder to win his trust and approval. I love the reference to her demon form. A lot of people forget that her human form isn't how she really looks. It's how she'd like to look, but not what she really is, and it seems Quan Chi was able to capitalize on that desire and bend her to his will.
Interesting note; she ran away from Sub-Zero so that he wouldn't hurt her and she, in turn, wouldn't be forced to hurt him. She's later cornered and recruited back into the Brotherhood of the Shadow by Quan Chi. I'm left wondering how she escaped the Netherealm the first time and if she had been running deeper into the Netherealm to find her original escape route. Had it been sealed? Did she not make it there in time? Why didn't she just leave back to Outworld again? Why exactly was she running deeper into a realm that was physically corrupting her?
And why was Sub-Zero there in the first place? For that matter, why is Quan Chi there? And why is he still leading the Brotherhood of the Shadow? I thought he and Shinnok had a huge falling out.
Dunno about that. Otherwise, it seemed good. Sareena seems like she really wants to do good by Sub-Zero, but her confidence is shakey and some magic and clever manipulation by Quan Chi convinces her she can't be anything other than a creature of darkness.
On a side note, it seems she has absolutely no knowledge that the original Sub-Zero is now Noob Saibot.
Her ending, in retrospect, seems to make more sense now. Blaze seems almost like a genie in a lot of these endings. A lot of the characters get powers and abilities that are specific only to them.
And Sareena gets ice powers.
At first I was all, "WTF???" but when I think about it now, it does make some sense. She wants to redeem herself. She wants to be a good person. The current Sub-Zero is the only one that ever gave her that chance and she valued his trust above all else. Enough to venture back into the Netherealm to aid him (in his MKD ending Noob and Smoke kill him in half, so it's a good thing Sareena stepped in). She took the oath of the Lin Kuei and vowed to protect and serve the clan.
So upon beating Blaze, Sareena gets ice powers. She then uses those powers to turn on her tormentor and freezes Quan Chi in a block of ice.
More importantly though, Sub-Zero meets her at the top of the pyramid and revives her. So apparently he never realized that the demon he drove off in the Netherealm was her! So her trustworthiness is still intact it seems.
It looks like Sareena will still be a part of the Lin Kuei going in to MK8. There's still plenty to be done with her, but I'm happy with how Armageddon treated her.
First off, her bio:
I was given asylum by the Lin Kuei in gratitude for aiding Sub-Zero in the Netherrealm years ago. I swore to uphold the laws of the clan and protect it from any outside threat. My allegiance was strong, but Sub-Zero felt I still had much to prove before the clan would fully accept me.
He entrusted me with a small metallic object that would guide me and grant me access to the hidden Lin Kuei temple. He ordered me to wait for him there as he departed for the Netherrealm. Instead, I followed him -- I could not bring myself to allow him to come to harm. But the realm's essence began twisting my soul, and I had second thoughts about disobeying him.
When he was attacked by Noob Saibot and Smoke, however, it seemed I had made the right decision. I leapt from hiding and prevented Noob from killing Sub-Zero. With the sides now even, we soundly defeated Noob and Smoke. They escaped to parts unknown, but not before rendering Sub-Zero unconscious.
The intense fight and the influence of the Netherealm's dark energies caused me to lose control of my human appearance, and I reverted to my demonic form. When Sub-Zero regained consciousness, he was confused and attacked me. To avoid harming him, I fled to the depths of the Netherrealm. There I was ambushed by Noob, Smoke, and my former master, Quan Chi. The sorcerer knew of my allegiance to Sub-Zero and demanded to know the location of the Lin Kuei temple. At first I refused, holding to my oath. But Quan Chi's influence is great. He cast his dark sorcery upon me, returning me to my human form and showing me my true nature. I am not a being of Light. I am a demon of the Netherrealm, a servant of Quan Chi. I will follow him to whatever end. I surrendered the object given to me by Sub-Zero. He was a fool to have trusted me.

Its not an ass shit thread. He/she said perfectly well why it was better to bump it then making a new one that talks about the same subject. It’s a great thread.
Im not a huge fan of Sareena, for some reason I honestly never felt attracted to her overall character (Im guessing its mostly because of her lack of involvement till just recently), but I do like her potential and I liked her debut in MKTE and MKA.
Sareenas bio was great, but I do feel it could had been so much better with all the potential she has, and it was a bit messed up with the last bit (the casting a spell story yet again), but it was still a great read.
I particularly enjoyed how she saved Sub-Zero and her sudden transformation, it was awesome, and how Sub-Zero confronted her and she refused to fight so run away. Best parts though were how she really wants to be good and prove herself. Gives her character development.
Her ending was very bad though, but then again, most of the cast had horrible endings as well. I hope they dont even think of giving her ice powers, would suck badly. And the Quan Chi part was, well....if he has to die/be captured let him die/be captured in a better way.
I see really great things for Sareena, hopefully she is back in Mk8, I just hope they give her a new look because she looked very ugly in MKA, and hopefully her storyline expands and gets more depply explored, because she has loads of potential. She was very good in MKA imo, her story was great, and it hints we have yet to see more of her. I give her a 8/10 overall.

Wasn't expecting this get bumped, but hey I always like to discuss Sareena...
I was very happy with her bio. It sets her up as pretty much what I was hoping for: she wants to be good, but she has difficulty controlling herself. The bio establishes that Sareena at heart means well. She mentions being a "being of light" as though she wanted to believe she was or could be one. She genuinely wants to stay on Sub-Zero's side and even saved his life (love that they had her do something relatively important). However, she has trouble dealing with her darker demonic instincts and nature, to her dismay.
I also liked how they suggested Sub-Zero doesn't entirely trust her yet...which makes sense since she is 1) a demon; 2) a former Quan Chi assassin; 3) he barely knows her; and 4) Frost just betrayed him. So she trying to earn his trust in spite of herself can make for good stories.
Unfortunately, despite her good intentions, Quan Chi comes along and screws everything up for her. It probably was just an attempt to make sense out of her appearance in Konquest...because I believe Vogel said she originally wasn't supposed to be there...but he did a good job of using that to establish Sareena as a conflicted, complex, and kind of sympathetic character.
Queve, I think spell is too strong to describe what happened. I do think sorcery was involved, but I think what Quan Chi did was much more subtle and devious than that. More like he took advantage of her demonic nature(which she mentions having trouble controlling, especially in the Netherealm) to seduce her into serving him again. Like he said "You're not a good person. You never will be. Stop trying. You're just a pure evil demon. That's all you'll ever be." Kind of like a Jedi mind trick.
This is why I see Sareena as sympathetic. She wants to be good....but she has a prick like Quan Chi convincing her she's not and never can be.
Way I see it going with her ending...if it's to have any merit...is that ultimately her good side wins out. Maybe it had something to do with the fight with Taven...or maybe before or during the big final battle Sareena frees herself or someone else helps her. Who knows....Ashrah's bio has yet to be released. Maybe we'll find out they are related in some way and Ashrah'll be trying to help her?
Point is, I don't see going from "I wanted to be good, but Quan Chi convinced me I'm not" in her bio to "Fuck Quan Chi, I'll do what I want" in her ending as that big a jump.
I'm not putting much stock in her getting ice powers though. They probably just threw that in like a lot of things with the endings. Hopefully it'll not come true, because I don't think we need ANOTHER female Sub-Zero running around.
I hope Sareena returns in the next gen. They set her up witha nice foundation of being an interesting character, and she can still go lots of places. Especially since it's becoming increasingly clear Armageddon probably won't be the big finale they hyped it up to be. So Sareena still has a lot to offer and can go far.
I waited a long time for Sareena to make it into one of the main games and I'm thrilled they made her worth it.
Sareena escaped the Netherealm the first time because she stumbled on the portal Quan Chi & Scorpion used to escape in Deadly Alliance.
How Sub-Zero went in and why Quan Chi & Noob & Shinnok are working together, I imagine will be revealed in their bios....but I think Sareena fleeing deeper into the Netherealm was probably just because everything happened so fast. Sub-Zero attacked her and she didn't want to fight back, so she just ran, probably not bothering to think about where exactly she was going.
I'm sure in retrospect, she'd wish she had run in a different direction.

I really like playing as Sareena. She's awesome. Although I wish they gave her something faster than Ba Shan Fan.

It's kind of ironic how Ba Shan Fan (a.k.a. Fan Zi Quan) means "Eight Flash Fist" yet they made it so slow. *sighs* Oh well, at least her overall gameplay is really good.
To XiahouDun84: I think that in Sareena's ending, she gets the ice powers when Sub-Zero came into physical contact with her. I guess you could say it's like an evolved version of her ability to absorb energy.

Even in that case, I don't think we need another character who can mimic others' abilities.
