Onaga on Max difficulty...

Does anyone have any tips on how to beat Onaga with Scorpion on Max difficulty WITHOUT using the orbs? The reason why I ask is because there aren't sufficient orbs to use to kill him, only to beat him a round or so. I try avoiding his attacks and then using the longer combo he has connecting Hapkido, Moi Fah, and Mugai Ryu, but that doesn't even take that much damage away from him. I'm also pretty damned tired of the grab-n-fly throw he has. If you have some advice, it'd be really cool. If not, then thanks anyways.
Peace.

None for Scorp here but I would like to brag and say that the other day I beat him on max for the first time with Baraka......FIRST TRY!!! Heh. I forgot to load my profile though and I was damn mad cause I was thinking that there might be diffrent endings or something with each character. Has anyone else beat Onaga on max and had their profile loaded?
The endings on Max difficulty are the same as on every other difficulty setting.
As for beating Onaga, I'm actually kinda surprised you would need help. Noob/Smoke on Max is about 6,000 times as hard as Onaga, and you obviously beat them. Onaga didn't seem to be any better than on any other difficulty setting; he just took less damage. The trick for beating Onaga is exploiting his lack of combo breakers. This means hitting him hard and often with strong, nonpop-up combos(since he can't be popped-up). Using Scorpions largest style branch combo is usually pointless on Max or against a good human player, but Onaga will be hit by every attack in the combo and the last one will bump him back a bit; however, I would recommend using the kamidogu. It does make things a bit easier.

You could try not wasting all the kamidogu on the first round.

try a different character? unless u really wanna do it with scorp.
Yeah, I want to see Scorpion's ending. As for Noob Smoke on MAX, I found them pretty easy, just like all the other characters on MAX. I just find Onaga hard on MAX for some reason. I do use the kamidogu, but there aren't enough to beat him 2 rounds, so I have to do some damage to him sometimes without busting a kamidogu. Thanks

I've noticed that Onaga seems to get pissed off if your beat him the first round so the second round he really tries to whoop your ass. That's why I try to only use one or two Komidogu in the first round. I usually need them pretty bad later in the match.
Quick question about Onaga: Does your attacks do more damage to him when you destroy the Komidogu? It seems my combos are weaker at the start but as I destroy each Komidogu the damage increases. Just a thought.

Depending on who you've picked as your character and how good you are with him/her, Onaga can either be Hell on Earth or a TellyTubby!
I have kept my Arcade difficulty at the default setting, and my best character is Scorpion. While I CAN beat Onaga with Scorpion (on occasion, with help from the Kamidogu), upon selecting Baraka I managed to Double Flawless him!
If you keep using Blade Fury as Baraka, Onaga goes down without any trouble - he has difficulty even getting any attacks in, just stay close to him but not in front for too long!
I've NEVER needed to use ANY Kamidogu with Baraka, yet I have difficulty winning against tougher regular opponents with him!
BTW, although many guides say Onaga can Stage Fatality you in the final round, he can actually do it in ANY round! Just keep away from the edges especially if your end light is YELLOW!
ALSO, I noticed that the yellow light that comes on (usually indicating that you can do a stage fatality or move) comes on at Onaga's side - does this mean you can Stage Fatality him??
Peace!

You can't throw Onaga in to the spikes, he can only throw you.

You know, I noticed the other day after I beat Noob-Smoke that Onaga kinda flashes, then appears in the next challenger block as if the computer is making a choice.. At no other time during the arcade does this happen. Also, you only get 500 koins if you beat him. In DA the sub-boss was that same price. It has me wondering, if there might be another boss, not found yet and that Onaga is actually the sub-boss like Goro and so on. Just a thought.

With Liu Kang it's so easy, in any difficulty. Just using the bicycle kick kills Onaga in 2 or 3 attemps.
I really miss Shao Kahn.
