See here's my problem, those pictures are clearly larger scale show models of the molds. Either originals or reproductions, but either way, far from the finished figures, and obviously very well hand painted to create a good show piece. I remember seeing the series one ones and going, "Wow, those look pretty decent." and once they added articulation, and started painting them in mass production, that all went to hell now didn't it? I haven't seen a single series 1 figure that hasn't made me cringe thus far.
Now don't get me wrong I love Mortal Kombat, I LOVE it, but when compaired to SOTA's Street Fighter line of toys (which these are obviously trying their best to rip off, but then Street Fighter was just a ripoff of Marvel Legends, so I guess its all relative, but at least Street Fighter did it well) these things have been complete crap, I'm sorry.
Now, I think those 4 sculpts look PHENOMENAL, so please don't misunderstand me. I think whoever sculpted them should be given a medal. I just don't have enough faith in Jazwares to believe they'll still look that good by the time they boil'em, mash'em, stick'em in a stew, and they hit the store shelves, and I don't think everyone should be getting so excited thus yet.
The skintones on the originals are sloppy and poorly done. Every Scorpion I've seen has looked more brownish orange then yellow. I still haven't found a Raiden with white eyes (I heard they corrected this, but I haven't seen it.) In the game sub-zero's skin was an icy-pale blue/white fleshtone, and the toy is like... glow in the dark minty green. Which makes me think he would have been better off if they'd just went with regular peach. It wouldn't have been 100% accurate, but at least he wouldn't look like a radioactive shredder.
And judging from Jazwares Megaman and Street Fighter lines (The second of which is just a cheaply done mass-market version of SOTA's line, which should be a red flag to begin with saying, ***This company specializes in cheapass figures***) I have little faith that the MK line will get much better, no matter how many promises they make.

PS. On an additional note, does anyone know an effective way to completely strip the paint off the series 1 figures? I can't help but think they'd look at least a bit better if they had a half-way decent coat of paint on them. (I was thinking I could just buy a cold-snap sub-zero and try painting him, but that still doesn't help me for the other 3)
STOP wrighting so much people arent going to read your post unless they are worth less people with no time to waist!
