Stop complaining who's gonna take this tourny so seriously that they whine, Second if you have skill you would no need to spamming special moves consistently. So the spamming rule will stay.

If you don't want to join don't.

@Vash no Captain Marval stays, there's no rule that says you can't pick the same character as your opponent so there's a solution to Captain Marval.

@Jin fixing the playoff tree is yours, feel free to do as you feel with who plays who.

Ok exactly how many consecutive moves counts as a spam? What if the move is a juggle starter of some kind and my opponent keeps getting hit by it when I end a juggle does that qualify as spamming?

How many moves do I need to do after the predetermined number of moves has been mett before I can do said move again without it being considered spam.

After I do the required number of moves to reset the spam counter am I alotted the same number of times I can do a move as the original spam or is it lower/higher after the reset?

What is the rule on spamming block? I mean there are some people I play who block everything I do and that makes me a sad panda. how many moves in a row can you block and how long do you have to release block before you can use it again and it not be considered spam?

Ok lets say that I do one less than the magic number of moves to equal spamming and I block some attacks by my opponent or jump around and avoid them. Can I then usse the move again or do I need to do something else to reset the spam counter?

Does spamming just pertain to special moves or do regular moves count too?

If I'm alternating between two moves does it qualify as spamming? Say 311,b3,311,b3,b3,311 would that be spamming?

Ok now about the comment if you have skill you wouldn't need to spam. Could you please explain that? Are you saying that if you have skill you suddenly change the properties of your character and suddenly change what their best moves are? As an example I'm recognized as the best jax player and my game revoles around keep away. I accomplish this by using his pro missles to keep my opponent back while building meter. If my opponent gets hit by a missle while in the air I do a ground pound. If my opponent rolls while they are on the ground I do the pound again and repeat until they stand straight up. If my opponent jumps at me I use the machinegun to anti air them if at all possible. When they get close to me I push them back with a breaker and proceed to build meter again by using missles as a keep away. On occasion when somebody gets in I may do a b1 or b3 to catch them off guard. This is how you play jax at high levels. The fact is no matter how good you are he is slow up close and his entire game is built around keep away tactics against good players. Against scrubs that complain about spamming and such you can generally beat them any way cuz they just suck but against a good player you can't beat them just anyway because when they get in on you they will take advantage of jax's slow moves.

Now obviously I'm not the best jax player because when I play him his moves don't magicaklly change their properties and allow me to win without playing to his strengths in keep away. You're obviously a superior jax player because its possible for you to change the entire way the character works and you no longer have to keep away you can just rush it down. So please enlighten me on how to make jax's up close and pitbull game work instead of taking advantage of his OBVIOUS design to play keep away. I really do want to know. Oh and please answer the questions regarding move spamming too.

a single set of Jax pro-missles considers as spam ... as soon as you do the pro-missles (or 2 ground pounds in a row) your opponent has the right to whine and claim they won that game ... furthermore ... somebody will put you on you tube 1 day for doing 2 sets of pro-missles and you will be known as Master Spammer ... with your own theme songs and everything.
in all seriousness ... very well put.

Seriously why would someone exploit a childish thing like this over a tourny that means absulotely nothing, ESPECIALLY WHEN RANK DOES NOT MEAN SQUAT, anyone can beat anyone in any giving fight.

If you whine, or abuse these childish things, it shows a lot about yourselves.

^ Agreed ^ Why would people cry about spam ? It can be avoided and is a good way to come up of a strategy for both players when contact mid or close .

Is this tourney still taking users ? If so add me ...

AceKombat

Good luck to all :D

To TC : You should make an irc channel for us to communicate . Its been done for SFIIITS online tournaments . ( Ever since GGPO and 2DF came out , IRC isn't needed but still use the emulator's stock chat system to get contact with players . )

Do you know what brackets you going to make with this tourney ? If not use bracketmaker .

http://www.bracketmaker.com/tmenu.cfm?tid=295111 < Example of a bracket of my first entry to a SFIII TS 2DF cup tournament ran by Nica K.O .

Probably because only scrubs will play in the tourney. I mean why would you want to play in a tourney organized by a scrub unless you were a scrub yourself.

You haven't even defined what spamming is. its like the old definition of pornography is you know it when you see it but thats subjective. What I consider spamming somebody else doesnt. You refuse to define it so sign me up and anybody who beats me is a spammer.

Seriously scrub I'm sorry shazeem define what spamming is in a quantifiable manner. Respond to my original post. Otherwise admit you're a no talent scrub who isnt' good enough to get around people telling you EXACTLY what they intend to do.

When we get the sufficent amount of players, we will take a vote on the spamming rule. But, know this if sombody uses infinites on you, dont start crying, we took a vote, majority rules, thats that.

an infinite and spamming are not the same thing. Generally speaking I couldn't care less if somebody wants to infinite me. They usually lose anyway because the infinites on this game have limited setups and most infinite users only try to go for the infinite.

If people vote to keep a no spamming rule than you MUST define it. so far you've dodged every attempt to define it probably because the posts would make you look a bit foolish.

now ... that's pure bullshit there ... you have a rule for spamming and you have a SEPARATE rule for infinites ...
we are asking for the spamming rule to go away ... all the sudden infinite rule just disappears with spamming? wtf?

the point i tried to make before you bash me is i could not care any less who sirlin think is a scrub and who's not ... i play the game in a competitive enough nature ... i don't need some teenager that take gaming too seriously to tell me how to play it. i don't know why sirlin's guide would refer to any MK game anyways.

IS it?

say that someone uses superman, and does his groundpound and promove 10 times in a row and you wont have a chance to fight back, that is considered spamming a move and an infinite.

Anyways if you still feel like spamming must absolutely be removed from the rules, then LEAVE!, thats all.

@Jiro, whats the player count in the tourny so far?
