about what i expected. Still dont like the merging idea.

My only real complaint with the review is he complains because the Pro Moves are too hard (they're supposed to be) and then has the nerve to call the game shallow. Other than that he could be spot on, ill know tomorrow.

Wow...this is a failry negative review, considering IGN gives mk games above 8.0. I usually trust their reviews as well.
I think I might just wait to for the game to get cheap.

totally called that 7.5 rating.
anyway, i wonder if the pro moves are just too difficult for him to do specifically. because just frame moves that reward skilled players are good. impossible to pull off special moves that are just frustrating are bad.

Sounds like he would've given it a better score if they had packed the game with content like armageddon, instead of concentrate on what's important.
COME ON SUNDAY!
yeah it couldn't possibly because it plays badly. Sounds like he would've given it a better score if they had packed the game with content like armageddon, instead of concentrate on what's important.
COME ON SUNDAY!
so is it hard for shang to turn into someone during gameplay? because it seems pretty quick there with no lag or anything.

7.5 the reviews are looking good so far but ign only having a problem with the pro moves is kinda weak it shouldn't matter if the pro moves are hard as long as i can beat the main game without them

Ah! Good review, nice find!
But yes, I'm also a little bit worried about the Pro-Move system.... if it's really that frustrating then it's not worth it. Challenge = ok. Frustration = not ok.
Edit: Did he really say that the pro-moves are hard to pull off? I'm pretty sure that he only mentioned the combo challenge stuff! And that's really a totally different story. Furthermore, he had a lot more to complain (graphics, mini-games etc.).

8.5 This is the note for Armageddon
But dont worry, Boon and Co had the talent to make a bad game one after another.

With all respect ,
Do you really trust IGN ?
Here is your proof you hate Armmageddon while it got 8.5 . Do you think that it deserved it ?
Assasins Greed one of the highly recomanded game got 6.5 on IGN . So having a stupid reviwer to rate a game is something IGN has the talent to do so .
BTW You cant spell IGNorants without IGN can you ?

I dont trust any review
But Midway and other enterprises do.
Remember all those high scores that MK Deception receive. They all over the main page of the website.
Now, how Midway will put a score like this and could be proud? I would not.

IGN is my favorite video game site. This review is a bit disapointing. I'm still getting it though

Reviews are not meant to be the deciding factor for the readers / viewers. They are only one opinion out of many others. It has nothing to do with trust. Therefore, It doesn't make any difference if you read or watch one review or thousands. If you wanna buy the game or not is up to you and no one else. And moreover, it's really just a matter of taste, but that's understood. (For example: I really like Killer7!).
So, I don't understand all the fuss about negative or good reviews and stuff. Of course, you can use reviews as some kind of guideline, but like I said before it makes no difference if you read them or not.

Totally agree with you. Reviews are only opinions, someone might review this game and give it a 9.5, meaning it's damn near perfect, so someone will go picking it up thinking its a damn near perfect game, only to be dissapointed. You might find your own reasons for not liking the game. Thats why I don't put much stock into reviews, I'll decide for myself wheter or not I like a game.
As for Mk Vs. DC, I'm gonna do what I always do, rent it first, and if i like it, I'll buy it.
Greg Miller has played the game, thoroughly it seems, and his glorified opinion is that it's a 7.5 game, which is generally favorable but not impressive.
And he's absolutely right.
So's the guy or girl who thinks this game is a 10/10 or a 2/10 endeavor.
Alot of what he said I've had problems with. While I don't mind the lack of unlockable content, you know it IS kind of a bummer it all got axed. Meanwhile, the gameplay still is Mortal Kombat, for better or worse. I'm not a fan of any of the gimmicks in this game (FreeFall, Klose Kombat, or Rage) except Test Your Might, and it was said that's only used in 3 out of 14 stages.
The difficult combos, enough to frustrate some to the point of giving up, doesn't sound like a very good control scheme if that's the case. I mean, I've played plenty of fighters, and even I can pull off incredibly difficult strung-together moves given enough info, timing, and training, but it sounds like the game has a problem telling the player when they should continue their combos, making it a guessing game.
I don't know yet. I'll wait for more reviews, but currently 7.5 is about where my expectations are for this game. Not bad by any means, but not the high-bar quality I keep demanding.

But the thing is, IGN is very lenient on their reviews. They usually score higher than alot of other sites. If IGN gave the game a 7.5, I bet Gamespot is going to give the game a 7.0.
