Well, seeing how big the level arenas are going to be, I think it’s safe to assume the Run button us back.

I'm happy about it, I'm one of those who really missed it in MKDA, even though it was not needed, but now, I think it’s a must.

Don't you think it would be better to tap forward twice in order to run instead of having a button for the 'run' function?

I hated the run button. That was part of the reason that I didn't like MK3. I guess I'm stuck way back in 1992.

I actually dont like the idea of tap forward twice. I hate it when I play tekken.

I rather see the run butoon back.

I think it's pretty safe to say that there will be no specific button dedicated to the run function. It's just not practicle for today's 3-D fighters. However I am pretty sure and optimistic about there being running and fleeing in Deception. Like some other people said, I believe you'll tapp forward twice to run and tap back twice to flee. It's become the norm for most 3-D fighters these days and I expect Deception to follow suit.

NO RUN BUTTON, and you can count on that for sure. Whether tapping forward and holding it makes you run is another story though...I don't know.

i dont think it would be a good idea. If the levels are gonna be huge, people could just run away from you like forever and you will never beat them. It would be used wrongly to cheat.

I think the run button would be a tad awkward... unless you play on the controller S and not the Duke... maybe you could like toggle it?

Run button is only used to run forward, so U cant escape.
If you can run in MKD I hope it's with the D. pad
Tap >> like in the other games.

The Run button would work too, but it's unnecessary.

Yes, that is what I mean.

OH! AND we saw BARAKA and MILEENA run in the trailer, MAYBE it will be back. At least the RUN feature.

Just what i was about to say. Hitting it twice it so much easier to use then holding a damn button. I never used it because it always messed me up when i would go to hit the button. I really hope they add the tap twice run thing

I rather have the run button.
I hate the other style.
Both ways work great. I when I play MK3, using the run button is so automatic for me that I don't even have to think about it.

You know what I mean. It's just that to have an extra button just for that is a waste. They could use it for something else.

But if they do it like in MK3 it will still work like a charm.

The Run Button's function will probably be used to pick up those stage weapons.

Run Button => Changes Function => Pick Up Stage Weapon.

Sounds good to me.

A lot of people don't like the run button. Some do. Some like the idea of using a button, some like using the tap forward twice. Now i don't want to start something. But, the block button, could also be changed to just the usual holding back on the d-pad. Now i know most other games have this style, while mk's style is it's classical block button. But, it would be easier if we would just have to hold back or back/down to block high or lower attacks instead of holding a button so long, it's hard to adjust our fingers back to normal.
Now the run button could make good use in this game. Just to run forward, not backward. there might be backward swinging like we saw in mkda, but the run button can be used to enhance and speed up gameplay a little. I was never a fan of the run button, cause i rarely used it. Running can execute quicker different combos only with the run feature. and special moves only with the run feature. The run feature should most likely help defenders push off their opponent out if they're stuck in a corner if there are corners to be stuck in. The run feature could also be used to escape certain special moves for eg. (A boss uses his special or stage special where there are spikes coming from behind you and he tries to push you into them. You can manage to run out of it and jump away from the hazard. While the boss doesn't have the ability to run, most likely cause of his heavy mass.
